Neighborhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

The City of London Tourist Information Centre is located in the heart of the city. It's across the road from St Paul's Cathedral and has lots of information about the local area and potential tourist attractions and ways to get to them.
There are leaflets galore and you can also by souvenirs of your visit to the City.
The staff there were really friendly and helpful when I visited and were able to answer all my questions.

I did not go in personally as I was only scheduled to go to London in 2 weeks. My queries were addressed via email by Genna Naccache. She was excellent. Very professional and gave sound advice. Thank you Genna, much appreciated

You can find this centre right across the St Paul’s ch. it is a triangular building on St Paul’s churchyard. The people here are so so helpful that I cannot find words to express it. They offered to get me theatre tickets. Told me about evensong in main churches. They even gave me hoards of brochures and free maps. Yes guys I still use paper maps for my navigation. They also provided free WiFi.

We had done our research on what to do in London, but happened on the centre as we were walking to find a hop on hop off bus. Was great to get recommendations and comparisons of the 3 on offer. We’d seen two online, but reviews had been hit and miss, hadn’t heard about another, which we went with. Lady was very helpful and pleasant.

This is the only place in London I could find the theater schedule and map leaflet.
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to provide me with all the information I needed to plan my theater visits. This is a must stop for current tourist information.

Super helpful !! They replied to my request to identify a photo 4 years after our trip to London. First they let me know that help was on the way. Later I received an email giving me the information I was looking for. Hooray!

The City of London Information Centre is staffed with people who can make recommendations on what to see and do and they can tell you how to get there. They can also give you free maps and brochures, which is very helpful. Armed with this useful information, visitors can plan their days in town and do things they would not normally have considered.
The centre is located in St. Paul's Churchyard and the nearest Underground station is St. Paul's. You can purchase a number of different passes and tickets, for example, the London Pass.

We only had a few days to visit and were unsure of what to visit. This is a great starting point. They have maps and brochures and can explain the underground, buses, taxis, etc. There wasn't a question they couldn't answer thoroughly and helped us find the best VALUE for our money. They have connections to all sorts of tours, including walking tours and some are self guided.

This is an excellent service centre that provides a lot of free information (maps, brochures, tips). You can request a map that has a 20% discount code, good at many restaurants and sightseeing venues. You can also purchase an Oyster Card here. Staff are very helpful.

Thank you for your lovely review!
It's so kind of you to say such nice things about us.
We're very proud of the service we provide as Central London's only official tourist information centre, and we're always glad when we know we're doing a good job.
Next time you're in London, please come and see us again. We're always happy to give advice, and if you need to you can also purchase tickets for attractions, theatre, accommodation, sightseeing tours, and coach journeys around the UK and Europe.

I spent a lot of time walking around London and discovered this centre when I walked over the Millennium Bridge towards St. Pauls. I stopped in out of curiosity and wish I had gone there my first day in town. The Centre is staffed with people who can make recommendations on what to see, and how to get there, and they can also give you free maps and brochures. Using this information I was able to plan my last two days in town and do things I never would have considered without their input. This is a free resource and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Hi! We have a 3-day pre-cruise stay in London next month. We've never been, so would like suggestions on the main tourist attractions to visit. We are staying at a Holiday Inn close to Kensington Gardens. Should we book tours to save time? Please advise and thank you!

if you've only got three days, I would recommend planning and booking in advance - and the best people to help you with that are the City of London Information Centre. I'm not permitted to put a link here - but you can find contact details by doing a google search. The advisor I dealt with was called Joao, but I imagine they are all equally helpful. good luck and have a great trip!

We are a family of four (two teenaged girls and two adults) traveling to London for Christmas this year. We realize that most attractions, etc. are closed for Christmas and Boxing Day, and wondered what types of tourist activities you would recommend that we pursue (in addition to walking around and just enjoying the beauty of this wonderful city)?

Thank you for your enquiry.
As you have mentioned, most attractions in London will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. However, there will be other activities available that could be suitable for your family (i.e. a river cruise or a guided walk). We are creating a list for you and will be in touch shortly.
Kind regards,
City of London Information Centre
