Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.

Throw away lost property
Sep 2021
Lost property (my lovely swimming costume) is immediately binned . This is supposedly a measure to protect against covid but is an outdated response as we now know that the virus doesn’t spread via surfaces! On the other hand they’re prepared to open the poolside sauna where social distancing is impossible to maintain.

With all that said, the Oasis is undoubtedly a gem in central London and I’ve noticed efforts to hike up the ventilation in the changing rooms, via air conditioning.

Depressing
Aug 2021
I've been swimming at the Oasis every now and then for 40 years and I've never seen it look quite as grotty and depressing as it does now. There's some kind of refurb going on with the main entrance and I hope the female changing rooms, corridors and outdoor pool are on the list too. The pool tiles and fixtures are chipped, stained and dirty ( I don't know why they didn't at least get the grout-clean out over the lockdown ) The pool steps are loose like cheap taps in a station toilet and the same tacky posters are still up five years since I last saw them. The female changing room is large and draughty, with 3 communal showers ( very close together ) and just three showers in cubicles. Nobody tells you the lockers need 20p ( or to take your own padlock ) and reception are not allowed to give change . Not the fault of the staff, but GRIM.

An island of calm
Jul 2021
For those who like an outdoor swim and are in Central London, THIS is your oasis. Situated in Covent Garden, this is this secret destination with an outdoor pool (27.5 metres) and an indoor pool (25 metres). There is a sundeck and a cafe, with towels to hire and a spinner to dry your swimsuit and hairdryers. Although this sport centre (gym, classes, squash courts) is a slightly older building, it is to be treasured. If the developers get hold of it, they would just smash it up and toss away the charm. Reasonable prices, very quiet and civilised. The staff are friendly and inviting too.

Hidden gem in need of some tlc
Aug 2021 • Family
We arrived to signs saying that there were no toilets or shower facilities??

The staff seemed friendly and the pool itself was lovely, although everything could have done with a good wash- Everything around the pool looked in disrepair. There was a lot of taped off areas.

I tried endlessly to make contact with head office about a clerical error (my mistake) and the phone was never answered and neither was my email responded to.

Needs a deep clean
Jul 2021 • Solo
Overall, this is a good gym the highlight being the heated outdoor swimming pool and the indoor pool. I've been a few times over the year and enjoyed my swim. However, the place is in need of major TLC. Everything just seems dirty. For example the changing rooms need a serious clean, the area always smells of urine and half the appliances are broken. Please invest in better cleaning staff as this has been an issue for over a year.

The staff are usually friendly and willing to help.

We had a lovely swim

Thank you to all the staff who were helpful to us when we went in for a swim when travelling in London on Thursday. They accommodated us really well, even letting us use the disabled changing room so that my son didn't need to change by himself in the unfamiliar facilities. It was easy for us to pay for a one-time swim and hire towels (as we were passing through London).
It is nice to swim in an outdoor pool and such a contrast from the busy streets outside it - an oasis, even!
I can, however, see what another reviewer said about there not being anywhere good for non-swimmers to play in the pool. The life guard checks that a child can swim OK, when you get in. No problem for us, but could be for some people, obviously.
We enjoyed the little café there also, where you can sit out by the pool.
We felt very welcome here :-)

Lives up to its name

It was a pleasant surprise to find that a sauna has been added to the swimming pool facilities. This is quite a significant addition and now means that finally Oasis is genuinely an Oasis. The compactness of the sauna means that people are likely to converse with each other. Private conversations become eavesdropped and a nice sense of community begins to ensue.
Alone, among London Swimming pools the lockers retain the 20p coin and I can only assume that the revenue generated from this has subsided the sauna.
