About
Lee Valley Golf Course is a real urban oasis in north London, a consistently well kept parkland course that takes full advantage of the River Lee and large lake water features in its layout. The 18 hole course is home to Leaside Golf Club, where members enjoy a combination of great value fees, all year round playability and some of the best fast running greens in London. The course also welcomes non members.Experienced players will find the narrow fairways and water hazards pretty challenging, whilst the short yardage is helpful for beginners and younger players.

Decent challenging course
Aug 2021 • Family
Greens in reasonable condition as are the fairways. Bunkers are almost completely grown over which is a shame. Good challenging course with some tight fairways. Good value for money. Take your own drink as prices at the golf shop were ridiculous asking £3.20 for a bottle of coke.
Also not very well signposted, in fact no signs, to the first tee.

Give it a go

If I had listened to reviews I had seen online, I would not have played here, but surprisingly when I played here last week, the course was in good condition and I enjoyed my round so much I am going to play here again. some challenging holes and the course was in good condition all round apart from a few of the bunkers!

Very Poor Condition
Aug 2020
This could be a really lovely course but I can honestly say that in the 25 years I have been playing golf, this golf course is in the worst condition I have ever seen.
There are some interesting holes set around a lake, but the greens and fairways are in very poor condition.
A real shame because we need these municipal courses to be well kept to encourage new and young golfers. This could and should be a great public amenity.

Thank you for your review. Our greens are in good condition, except two which were the target of recent vandalism. In regards to COVID regulation, we outline our safety procedures on our website and systems have been put in place to make sure every round of golf is COVID safe.

Scenic, peaceful practice round
Jul 2020
Lovely oasis of wildlife on a parkland course set around a lake. Note this is more a place for practice rather than a serious game as the greens are in poor condition and the yardage short. Having said that, if you are ok with that it is a cracking little course with some challenging greens and interesting holes!

Five stars for the staff and members but ...
Feb 2020
This course has great potential but it appears that the Lee Valley Authority has little interest in golf.

The course could be, for the sake of a few thousand pounds, a real gem.

As it stands, the tee boxes are poorly tended, as are the greens. The fairways are narrow and challenging but are sadly bordered by litter and other bits of rubbish.

Despite everything else, the staff and members are very helpful, very pleasant, and very welcoming.

Great shame.

This golf course could be a great golfing complex, but Lea valley authority have let the course go to a terrible condition. They seem to think that golf is an elitist sport. Not for retirement people that cannot afford a private club. They intend to try and close the course for a non elitist sport Surfing !!! At a cost of 40 million pounds. A complete disaster as the White water rafting.

Awful Golf Course
Jul 2019 • Solo
Visited End of July 2019, and this is truely the worst course I have ever been on. The fairways are appalling, the tee boxes are shocking and the greens are disgracefully kept. The whole course is a sorry excuse for a golf course. The holes are barely numbered and having not played before I had no idea where to go.

Do not waste £18.50 and play here. You can play much better courses for the same or less amount of money. This is not worth your time or effort.

Dissappointing
May 2018 • Solo
Gave this course a try this weekend and unfortunately have to say that it was quite dissappointing.

The course isn’t well looked after; the fairways are poorly kept, the tee boxes are in truly awful condition and the greens are below average.

This sounds a really brutal review but, honestly, it is such a shame because the course has the potential to be great! The layout is good and the course is quite a challenge with huge slopes leading up to the greens and some greens are two tier.

It is also very easy to get lost on this course as it isn’t signposted well at all. The fact that it also caters for footgolfers too is always a sign that a course isn’t all that. Footgolf shouldn’t be allowed on the same parameters as the golf course.

If this course had a revamp and some real care it would be a fantastic course so it is sad to see it in a poor state.

The local players on the course however were ultra friendly. We enjoyed the game as always but paying £22 for a course in such bad condition left a bitter taste.

Decent for a hack around
Feb 2017 • Friends
Reasonable course for a cheap round. There are limited clubhouse facilities and the course is quite short even off the whites. I'm a single figure handicapper and it was long iron/driver and wedge to most par 4s.

On the plus side some nice holes and the greens were great for this time of year.
