I visited the WVS after severe disappointment from other stables in the nearby locality and was amazed at the standard of professionalism and enjoyment of the staff and the owner Carol Andrews. The horses were immaculately turned out and the yard was spotless. Riding on Wimbledon Common was a tremendous bonus and as a reasonable but novice rider the instructors... More

The equine simulator is a mechanical horse that reacts to all the aids, from hands, legs and seat. It walks, trots and canters, so that beginners can learn what a horse feels like and more advanced riders can perfect their riding skills. Great fun and great exercise, firms and tones the muscles. Alternatively you can ride a responsive real horse... More

I have ridden in central and greater London stables all my life and absolutely NOWHERE compares. This is a polished business and no mistake. Impeccably trained, healthy, very happy horses. An excellent, expert staff and extremely "client focused" attitude. At all times the rider's comfort and safety takes priority. Nearby Wimbledon common provides a wonderful setting with dedicated bridle paths... More

I signed up for a one hour hack while on holiday in London. I ride regularly at home and like to try to get in a ride or two whenever I travel. WVS is an excellent facility with lots of super horses. They chose perfectly for me with a lovely forward going horse who was sensitive to the bit and... More

Where I come from, Milton Keynes, I struggle to find a good place to ride locally for various reasons. I can thank this place for helping me keep my interest in horse riding alive. Wimbledon Common is simply one of the best places anywhere to explore on a horse! The first time I came here was back in July 2014,... More

I have ridden here maybe 5 times this year and I am always impressed by the friendly and warm staff - instructors and reception - and by how clean and well kept are the stables. It is like being among family. Not the cheapest place in London but surely one of the best for a lovely ride tailored to your... More

My 11 year old daughter was keen to improve her riding and, after extensive research, we discovered this stables. What a find! So friendly and welcoming with instructors who ensured she was learning in a safe and fun environment. She was clearly loving it so much that I joined within a couple of weeks as well and, 12 years on,... More

I was here back in February with my mum and young sister who wanted to start riding. At the time, staff felt like we were bothering them. They seemed to really force being 'nice (friendliness wasn't in their nature) and made us feel uncomfortable asking questions as they were always busy and no-one seemed to know much about much. Truth... More

Many of us remember falling in love with riding from our very first ride, so I was sorry to hear your young sister’s experience was not a happy one. It’s so important that the first and indeed every ride should be enjoyable and safe, and the staff at Wimbledon Village Stables are deeply committed to ensuring that is the case.... More
