Always been on the bucket list. And after two year pause on tickets due to covid, finally the day came, opening day on centre, and lucked out with Novak, Emma and Andy drawn on centre. Result.

We were sat quite far back but pretty central (gangway 504). These are definitely not the best seats, but there are no bad seats in this stadium, so we still had an excellent view.

The grounds themselves are very big, and take some time getting familiar with. Despite being very busy they were kept immaculate throughout the entire day, a credit to the workforce. The queues for some stalls, especially the strawberries and cream, were pretty lengthy but to be expected at an event of this size. Although the day was interspersed with some rain, we found enough time to explore and enjoy all the areas. All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful, offering to take pics etc.

The one disappointment of the day was the tennis
experience itself on centre court. I was shocked at how many empty seats there were, and this impacted the atmosphere a touch. And with no game going right to the wire, I found it difficult to get really involved in the games (and that's with two Brits playing!). It felt such a waste with so many wanting to attend, that there were at least 1000 seats empty the entire day. I'm not sure of the solution, but this was a definite negative. The other slightly frustrating thing was people apparently walking in with no tickets, for example we moved people from our seats on two occasions. Seems odd how easily that can happen.

So overall I'm glad I've experienced wimbledon centre court, and although I'd definitely do it again (especially if it was week 2 on centre court!), I'm happy to tick it off the list and move on to the next adventure.

Tips . . . . bag checks on size and volume of drinks are extremely lenient, I'd suggest fitting in as much as you can! Get in early so you can properly explore the vast grounds before the big court games start. If you're getting the train to wimbledon, unless you struggle with hills, forget taking the bus from wimbledon town (£20 pair tickets) just walk it yourself (15 mins). If you're there for more than the day, wimbledon village is a very welcoming place with plenty of shops/cafes/bars worth visiting. And get a good night's sleep the night before, a full day watching tennis at Wimbledon can be pretty tiring!

Enjoy!

We had a great day here. The tour was very interesting showing all the courts and getting close up to centre court. We spent a long time in the museum as well. The gift shop is a bit expensive but arn’t they all! Overall a good day out. Well worth the money. Ww visited in 2019 just prior to the pandemic. Just I cannot go back that for to review.

Every year I say ‘I should get tickets for Wimbledon’ and this year, because of the ease of purchasing online, I finally did. Signed up online and received an email when tickets went on sale. Went for court no 1 on finals day as they were £40 each. After booking my ticket I received an email saying to ignore the previous email sent. When I checked the previous email it was saying my tickets had been cancelled for going over ticket limit but apparently it was a system error and thankfully I saw the second email first so had no cause for panic. Took a covid text the day before, logged my negative result and showed to staff at the entrance and ID then on to bag check. All very quick and easy getting in despite the large number of people. Most people were on centre court so lots of room and the roof was left off despite the thick clouds so felt very safe. Absolutely amazing being there and finally seeing the action live. Once the match starts you’re not allowed to enter the stands and have to wait until there’s a short pause which is great so spectators aren’t interrupted during play. Purchased some food from the cafeteria (£10 for a meal) and brought it back to stands to eat in between matches; a bit tepid but wasn’t expecting anything great so no disappointment there. Actually the only disappointment was that for hot drinks there was only the choice of tea or coffee when I really wanted a hot chocolate. Bought the strawberries and cream (£2.50) - had to be done - and the pimms and lemonade but as I’m not a drinker I shared it with my husband. Really good day out and really good seats. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Apparently tickets were easier to get this year because of Covid. Even the grounds tickets were being sold online. I hope they will make it this easy next year as well.

Couldn’t have had a better day at Wimbledon! Purchasing tickets was easy and a lot better than the ballot. All staff at the venue were so friendly and helpful. They made the day even better. Hardly any queuing time to get in and showing the tickets also through the app all went smoothly. Food was expensive but that’s to be expected with these things. Highly recommend a day out at Wimbledon, feel super lucky and privileged to have been.

Brought tickets through myWimbledon for No1 court. 1 day before due to attend got email saying tickets had been cancelled because I had applied multiple times. I had not as only applied for the 2 tickets allowed. I had at this stage already booked car parking which was non refundable. Email account was no reply. Trying to call the ticket number the call consistently cuts off after waiting for 4 minutes listening the the announcement. Tried this about 10 times, so wasted about 45 minutes plus. Emailed as well, did not get response. Eventually got an email saying it was an error and tickets were OK.

A great test event experience. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the event was highly organised. Bathrooms were clean and the new no 1 court was slick. A great day.

We had the most amazing time at Wimbledon yesterday! We found the booking of tickets pretty straightforward and we were lucky to get tickets on court No.2 right at the front! We were blessed with dry/warm weather and we watched Norrie win yesterday, the atmosphere was fantastic. We parked opposite in car park 10, which cost us £30 (electric car so £5 less) and it was a short walk to the entrance. We were in quickly and had to show covid pass and photo ID but it was as all so slick - so many staff and so well trained. We didn’t wear masks when walking around outdoors, only to go into any under cover areas like toilets/food areas etc. A lot of people did wear masks or asking around but equal number didn’t so I think it’s perhaps personal choice at this stage. We didn’t have to wear them when seated watching the matches, very few people did. The whole process is so well organised in every aspect - the cleanliness, the availability of different food and drink options, the ticketing, the schedule. It just seemed to work like clockwork and we had one of the best days ever. Murray Mount last night had an amazing atmosphere and it was fun sitting there with pimms and strawberries. Strawberries and cream only £2.50 a box, not bad really! Thank you Wimbledon, we loved it and will definitely return!
