The prospect of Whitby has given us nothing but good times on our visit early December. Not only is the pub steeped in charming history, their staff has left us gleaming in a year that has left many in sour moods. Our particular barman Kenny has tendered to us with bubbly generosity and if you have the opportunity to meet you him you will not be disappointed. We’ve left the prospect of Whitby happier, healthier and full of love.

Kenny was such an amazing waiter, so sweet and warm. The food was amazing too - had the beetroot Christmas Wellington and was absolutely delicious! Worth a visit every time.

It’s always a pleasure to visit this historic (that’s 500 years old- historic) riverside pub, full of character. Eleanor was our host last night and took great care of us. Till next time!

Upon arrival we were politely reminded of the Covid rules for the establishment, and we were quickly shown to a table. Our server (Chris) was really friendly, he interacted with us and was quite funny, he certainly brightened up our visit, which is rare these days & particularly in the current pandemic crisis. The food was really nice, hot and tasted fresh. I would recommend visiting this pub.

I visited this pub on Saturday 24th October, and was instantly greeted by the friendly host. He was very helpful, and helped us check in with the track and trace (we are techniphobes). The host then took us to our seats on the top terrace. Although it was windy, the views were amazing. We ordered our drinks and food via the app - fish & chips which was delicious and arrived in perfect time. The staff were working tirelessly to make sure all covid precautions were taken and made us feel very safe. I would definitely recommend this pub!
