I don't know why the decibel level for films has to be this high. Similarly the background music in the bar made it impossible to communicate easily.

Great area to bring family and kids, lots of interactive activity X for youngsters. Try to avoid peak times as can get busy.

A great setting just under Waterloo Bridge but it's a place to avoid if you're hate waiting. It takes a while for your drinks to come.. They add on the discretionary tip on the bill which is another wait. When you ask to take it off, it's another wait. They add on drinks you haven't ordered. And despite the waiting... More

We visited the BFI Restaurant with friends ; one of whom works for this organisation. Had a wonderful evening. The near riverside setting was lovely and is close to Waterloo station. The restaurant has had a recent refurbishment and colour scheme is restful with more space created. Air con very welcome in the heat outside. Food a good selection of... More

The BFI Southbank is an absolutely fantastic place to be for a drink in the Summer months. The service is fantastic, and always with a smile, and the beer is chilled (what else could you want...apart from the sun to make an appearance) It's close to the National Theatre, without having to pay National Theatre prices for beer. Highly recommended.

The BFI Southbank is brilliantly located at the southern end of the Waterloo Bridge. It has cinema and gallery space included and also has the Benugo bar & kitchen inside. The mediatheque has a great selection of books and films. Film lovers can easily spend a day here without getting bored.

We went to see Captain America: Civil War, a film I thought fitting for the sheer magnitude of the screen - and BFI didn't disappoint! The screen is absolutely massive, but retains a fantastic crisp quality, and the sound is immense. My only gripe would be that I would have preferred to see the film in 2D as it would... More

Went to see the Frances Foster Jenkins last evening + Q&A with Hugh Grant, Director and writer. It was our 28th Wedding Anniversary and all went beautifully. Seats were comfortable, sound was brilliant and ambiance was fabulous. Thank you BFI for providing us such a beautiful experience.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
