Mixed experience, biggest let down being items on selected menu being substituted or simply not provided without explanation until we questioned staff. Started with chosen wine being off, then a warning they'd run out of one of the mains (this only 7pm) but they then came back saying they'd found some....this kind of set the tone.... Soup starter described with... More

It is a great film venue, always interesting things to see and do. Five stars for that. The catering/refreshments however are on the pricey side for what you are getting, and many of the staff seem totally disinterested.

While the exhibition, scheduled films and store are all well worth your time, by far the most valuable feature of BFI is the huge archive of films and TV programs contained in the Mediatheque. You will be hard-pressed to find a film that you're interested in to not be available for screening in one of their viewing stations, and it's... More

The British Film Institute put on the London film festival every October and it is a stunner. I'm not sure there is anywhere in the world where you can see such a worldwide smorgasbord of film. Wonderful just wonderful

I really adore this place, with its nice selection of contemporary and classic films, excellent staff and a great shop. The complex has three cinema theatres, the exhibition area and a studio space, there is also a restaurant, but not worth your time. Stick with the great content you can find here!

I'm a member at BFI and love the place. I remember it from way back in the '80s when the front bar area had a very studenty feel about it...Benugo now manages the front bar and restaurant and the one at the back. The Benugo staff are most charmless people I have ever co e across in the service industry.... More

Wanted a drink in the bar next to the ticket office. The service was painfully slow ... So much so that we just gave up and went elsewhere. Staff were telling customers who had waited at the bar for a good deal of time to form a single queue - which was weird and totally against UK bar etiquette! Expect... More

I feel very fortunate to visit the BFI. They showcase some of the best curated films in London. The venue is clean and easy to navigate. The food is so-so but the content there is sublime.

Visited for the preview of Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan's Anthropoid movie with question and answer session. Amazing time, red carpet, fantastic movie and even better q and a session. Customer service is excellent especially Sian the venue manager who goes out of her way to help ensuring you have the perfect time. 5 star service!

Thank Ranul

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
