Good for a Sunday Night

Did the walk with Adam as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, funny, friendly and easy to hear. The last point was key as there were other tours we ran into on the walk and you could hear a few struggling to speak loud enough. It was an easy walk and the time flew by. A nice touch was Adam... We took the 19:30 tour. There were a lot of people even in the drizzly weather. The guide took our £10 fee and then offered a two sided leaflet about the area for a further £1, which I thought was a not on. We were split into two groups and set off 20min late. The walk took us around the... More

Had a tour with Phil, tour said it would be one and half hours on visit London.com - it lasted 1 hour. really boring, he had a folder with pictures from the internet, didn't learn anything, he dragged it out by telling jokes - don't waste your money

We took the daytime tour - our first walking tour of London. The meeting place was easy to find and the Guide was welcoming and gave us time to grab a coffee at the Tower Tram. A great mix of people on the tour. Which lasted about 90 minutes taking in key locations. Ending in Spitalfields it was a fascinating... More

I had an overnight on a Sunday in London while on a connecting flight. Unfortunately, there were no West End shows that night that either interested me or had tickets available. Thus, this waking tour looked like the best thing to do on a Sunday eve. Since there are no advance reservations for this walking tour, group size can end... More

The walk we joined was very busy, but the guide was excellent at acknowledging this and took it into account during the whole talk. Do not join this walk if you expect to visit all the sites in the case as they are no longer available to visit but, the guide did explain very well why we were stopping the... More

Very pleased with the tour. Our guide JJ was excellent! He was very clearly passionate about the story behind Jack the Ripper and it came out during the entire tour. I would recommend doing the tour at night as oppposed to the afternoon one, as I can image it would be much busier on the streets of London making it... More

There was a very large number of people in the group even though it had been split into two. There is literally nothing to see. You just walk around the area stopping every now and again whilst the guide gives you some information. There was a lot of talk about conspiracy theories relating to free Masons. It may be possible... More

My friend and I decided this would be an interesting way of seeing London. Initially, my friend was reluctant as she thought it might be scary. It is perfectly safe. There were 2 groups of about 20 plus a guide. It takes about 2 hours and starts roughly around 7.30 pm at the burger van outside Tower Hill tube station.... More

This tour was not only interesting for the Jack the Ripper history lesson but also gave a feel for what Victorian London was like for the people who lived there. Our tour guide, JJ, was very passionate and really enhanced the tour experience. This was the most atmospheric tour I've ever been on, and would definitely recommend to others!

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
