To round off our previous nights theatre visit we took the morning trip from Westminster to Greenwich. Although the first mate gave us the option of his own commentary or a recorded he took the first option. He knew his facts about the sights to see all the way down to Greenwich. Adding a few funny jokes and stories. A... More

Very enjoyable day viewing London from the Thames. Informative trip improved by the presentation from the crew. Take the full trip to Greenwich and view the museums before returning to the city.

We went on a round trip to Greenwich from Westminster using a day rover ticket bought with a 2 for 1 discount. We felt this was excellent value for what amounted to almost three hours of relaxing cruising along with a very humourous commentary from one of the crew in each direction. It's the commentary that makes the journey so... More

Whether to use this company is dependent on what you are looking to do on the river: this is a large craft with good views of the bank and river activities, public facilities and plentiful food and drink, good for a leisurely cruise and a light meal with hop-on, hop-off privileges. If you just need a no frills hop-on, hop-off... More

We purchased our tickets at a discount through a tour company. We used the on/off tickets for only one cruise to and from Greenwich and certainly enjoyed the experience. The company has several pick up and drop off locations, they offer snacks/drinks, covered and open seating (this might differ depending on the boat - both of our did),and run more... More

The river boat showboat through City Cruises is not worth going on as there is awful food and you are sitting with lots of other people on small picnic tables stapled to the floor and there is no service ! Not easy to view outside as the windows are so full of condensation that you do not see much as... More

We booked two tickets for the City Cruises circular tour from our hotel on Saturday morning. We booked the cruise from Tower Pier that travelled to Westminster and back and took around 50 minutes after picking up people from Bankside Pier. We booked this trip as we wanted a trip that took us both up and down the river and... More

We went on the evening jazz cruise. On boarding we were shown to our table where a starter was waiting, a charcuterie plate which was very good. We were also given a glass of sparkling wine. We were fortunate enough to have a window table (I'd requested it when booking and although they couldn't guarantee it they'd managed to get... More

Initially booked as a way to get to other attractions, Greenwich, the tower, etc, but oh my, so so good, the weather was beautiful which added to the experience, wonderful commentary from a crew member, although, well rehearsed, the only criticism, don't stand at the boats exit holding a silver ice bucket boys, put in down somewhere in view, I... Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
