1,236 reviews
Immerse yourself in Victorian London on this one-of-a-kind Jack the Ripper experience featuring RIPPER-VISION.™ Unlike other tours, your guide uses handheld projectors to accompany spine-chilling tales of the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the 1800s. As you explore the dimly lit back streets of Whitechapel, images of Victorian London are projected onto buildings to guarantee a highly atmospheric experience. Plus, an evening departure time means you’ll experience London at its most mysterious.

The Square dates back to the 1660's in the days when Southampton House filled the entire north side of the Square. Today, Victoria House occupies the east side of the Square with the other sides having terraces of neo-classical houses occupied over the years by various famous people. At one end is a statue of Charles James Fox, which is a little lost with its current setting. The Square has a children's play area and seating around the centre, but the roads around it can make accessing it a little confusing

A very nice square containing a children’s playground and underground car park. With an abundant amount of benches and green space even on a busy hot day, you will find somewhere to sit and enjoy the area. The car park is based directly underneath with entrances on either side of the square. There are also connections to Southampton Row and Russell Street so you can walk in and out from multiple points. It also has very good cleanliness, with well behaved visitors throughout. A very good choice to visit especially if you have young children and want to avoid the large crowds bigger parks attract and need a bit of peace and quiet..

We regularly stay in the area at either the Jury’s or Premier Inn hotels on Southampton Row. One of the highlights for the kids is to visit the small children’s area during a warm summer morning. Indeed over this season the park is a wonderful addition to the area with plenty of seating and grass to relax. The square sits above the ‘Secure’ branded car park which we also use so is ideal in so many ways. It generally feels safe and clean with many amenities in the area, too many to mention but you’ll understand why it is so popular when visiting.
