The Magic Hour is a unique magic show in the heart of London. Located near Hyde Park, and following sell out runs at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Hotel Russell, this 5 star rated show takes places at the historic Grand Royale hotel. The show, performed in an evocative old drawing room, brings to life the illusions of the Victorian masters of magic.

Beautiful setting, as hotel was originally a house built for Lillie Langtry by her lover the king of England. Sonic is personable and a clever hoaxer who knows the history of stage magic and knows how to keep you guessing and amazed.

From the minute you arrive at the venue - the experience starts. The staff are friendly at the hotel and you are shown to the bar for a cocktail. The show is held in a beautiful wood panelled room, which further adds to the atmosphere. It's a wonderful night, for both adults and children. Tony Middleton dresses old Victorian style... More

This guy is good. I've gone to see some of the best magicians in the world and this guy would rank highly in my opinion. He has carefully thought about his show, it's done in a place that gives excellent atmosphere it's varied with lots of types of tricks, his a good presenter and engaging. I preferred the first half... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for something a bit different - we found it! Close-up magic in this small but sumptuous hotel with a history was such a great combination. Great value for money, especially we loved the individual nature of the show, the story behind the magic - and Sonic is a great performer and comes over as... More

Sonic is a very good magician and performer, and he expertly engaged the crowd. His illusions were mostly very good, but I can't help but notice some slip ups which gave away a couple of his tricks. Overall, I wouldn't say I was blown away by the magic tricks, because I think I was able to guess how he did... More

I really can't believe the good reviews for this show.. I took my brother for his birthday present. He is massively into magic and we did the card shark show last year which was unbelievable! Real true class and the same sort of thing, a lone wolf in a hotel. I was hoping this was going to be another winner,... More

Amazed, entertained, wowed. Get there early so you can enjoy the cocktail and grab a good seat. If you are height challenged, consider reserved seats so you can see some of the table work. There is nothing up his sleeve. Just when you think you saw a mistake, he asks you if you saw it and approaches the trick in... More

A fantastic performance, and just when you think you catch a glimmer of an answer as to how it's done there is always another trick up his sleeve. I left feeling confused, but only because I couldn't understand how he managed to do some of his tricks. Only disappointment was the 'free' cocktail at the start.

Your brain is telling you that what you are seeing is impossible, but your eyes think the laws of physics no longer apply. A well crafted and beautifully executed show in an incredibly atmospheric setting. Highly recommended.

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
