I went to their new shop in Shoreditch for a sweet making masterclass and it was brilliant fun! The master candy-makers do a demonstration and talk you through the process, then you get to have a go at everything yourself...and all the while enjoying a few beers (or prosecco if it's more to your taste) :) The whole thing was really enjoyable and the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Just don't expect your end result to look like their demonstration models!! Definitely a hidden gem.

So you want to spend a couple of hours doing something different, fun and informative in London. Well Spun Candy are just the ticket, Nestled in Bedford Street just off the main Covent Garden square and a stones throw from Charing Cross and Covent Garden Tube this is the ideal place to fuel your sweet and sticky confectionary fantasies!! Give them a call and organise a family or corporate candy making session just for you. Our family young and old(ish) made lollipop roses, candy canes, curly lollipops and letters and lollipop hearts all under the expert and patient eyes of the confectioners. We picked our own flavours,( rasberry and passion fruit and grapefruit and rasberry) designed our own sweets and came away with bags of goodies. we learnt about the correct temperature of sugar , how to stretch and roll the mix and also how to chop and chip the hardened candy into the perfect (well almost perfect) shapes. The staff are young friendly and full of fun and the tasting session of cinder toffee and traditional toffee was excellent. The shop is worth a visit too as you can watch the team making the shop sweets if you dont have time for the workshop!! Just dont eat too much before you go and if you do, dont have a desert! Fantastic fun!!!

If you’re candy crazy like me then a class at Spun Candy is a brilliant way to spend a few hours learning about, creating and tasting some of the best candy around.

Whilst I realise that I may have led a relatively sheltered life, learning how they get the patterns/teeny lettering/pictures into rock candy was fascinating and then getting stuck in myself was awesome. I and my party were greeted in the candy kitchen by Conor, our extremely friendly and knowledgeable host who showed us where to store our belongings safely and offered welcome drinks. We were then handed an apron and protective gloves, and given a short safety brief. After a great demonstration showing how the candy is boiled, flavoured, coloured and shaped we were split into teams and shown to our own candy tables where we spent the next 45 minutes colouring, flavouring and shaping our very own candy delights.

As our creations were left to cool we moved across to another table with varying jars of candies for a tasting and flavour guessing session (passion fruit is definitely a winner). By the time we had finished chomping through copious quantities of candy our previously made creations had been professionally wrapped and tied with ribbon ready to take home - they were actually able to make my candy attempts look like they had been shop bought, that was impressive!

We handed back our aprons and gloves and were encouraged to take our time with a final drink before we left, candy in hand, high on sugar and completely loving the experience. I can’t wait to go back and do it all again!

We specifically added Spun Candy as a stop on our trip to London based on TripAdvisor reviews. We finally found the store and we were eager to walk in. This is a cute small candy store with workers making candies in front of you which was pretty neat but nothing extraordinary. As we walked in, we were not greeted but I didn't let that damper my mood. I then asked about their popular flavours and no one was really willing to answer. They all just looked down and proceeded to work. Finally a young lady answered. We sampled a few. It was average candy but we bought a few bags anyways since we spent so much time looking for the place but they were not good enough for me to return considering the poor service. Staff was indifferent...others walked in and walked out and were not greeted. Don't waste your time finding this place.

We are very sorry that you had a disappointing experience in our candy shop. We pride ourselves in making hand made, fantastic tasting candy in the heart of Covent Garden. We have trained our staff to engage with customers when making the candy so I apologise that on this occasion we have not matched your expectations.

Same thing. We walked in the rain to find this tiny little store because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. No one said a word to us either, three people standing behind the counter but no one said "hello" etc. No one was making candy. We bought some anyway but it is just simple "ribbon" candy. There are tons of other places much more worth of your time.

I have to clarify that, even if one could watch them make candy, it would be about as entertaining as watching someone make photocopies. There is one little machine on the counter.

We visited this store based on great trip advisor reviews, and went out of our way to do so. However I was a little underwhelmed- the shop is very small, and only sells rock sweets. If you're into that then this will be a fantastic shop for you, and the sample I had was very nice, I was just a little disappointed that that really was all there is to it.

When i were a young nipper, fresh faced and dewy eyed, me pa would take me round the streets o' covent garden where i wouldst wander hither and thither throughout the shops 'pon covent garden, wherupone i wouldst often find mesself in a veritable treasure trove of caramellium and fudge with me pa in covent garden - we would hark at the pick n mix display, marvelling at the options to fill me tiny leather purse with candies from't and we would ask many a question to the fine young boys and girls and boys that worked thereupon within - sniffing all the while the delicious chymical aromas and magickal concoctions pumping steamwards out of the grand brass pots that bubbled away on the log stove. That was 125 years ago, and if ye find yersself there again in this very much more modern age ye will likely find a situation of similar quality and ilk - shimmering rock candies and butternut fudge dripping in the sunlit glow of the radiant window display which for the season (it being winter and all) features a handsome tree fit for a king. I would recommend the services of spun to discerning customers aged 8 months to 800 (months) - haha,
such a jape,
how incredibly rum,
even thinking about spun caramels,
chokes me with fun!

My children attended this workshop - it was excellent. Highly recommend. Sean was very enthusiastic and made the workshop great fun! My children loved it and are enjoying their lime and custard lolly pops!

We visited Spun Candy, Spitalfileds on Saturday for the Children's Masterclass, it was fabulous! From the minute we walked everyone was so helpful, enthusiastic and fun! The class was great, lots of hands on time and the girls were amazed by how professional their lollies ended up looking! They were also bowled over by the bulging bag of goodies they came away with. For me, the caramel, chocolate drizzled popcorn on tap throughout is reason enough to return. Thank you to all the teachers and candy makers, you made to a very special treat for all of us.

Took my daughter to this as a treat before the start of school. We were the only 2 at a loiipop making class and our tutor Connor explained everything to us with a great deal of patience.

We had plenty of time to ask questions and had a lot of envious glances from people passing by!

Would definitely recommend this to well behaved children and adults!
