Joined a busy Jack the Ripper tour with Mark and he was great! Really brought to life what Victorian Britain would have looked like back then and did a good job of presenting the victims backgrounds in a respectful way. Even though the sites of the murders have somewhat moved on since then, the narration painted a colourful picture of what happened and where, which you don't quite get from reading a book or watching a documentary. The photos were opt-in and maybe not for everyone, but my morbid curiosity couldn't resist. Whilst they promote this as a "free" attraction, you are of course expected to pay "what you think its worth" or can afford - most people on my tour gave a tenner. Thanks for a great night guys!

Had the pleasure of being a part of the landmarks tour in the 'City of London' district yesterday with Jamie as our tour guide. Jamie has a great sense of humour to go with his amazing story-telling skills as he took us around the district, sharing with us the fascinating history and lesser-known facts behind all of the landmarks covering the sundial built by the Romans, ruins of St. Dustan, the fleet street, the beautiful Leadenhall market and many more. I would recommend this tour everyone, especially to folks who are new to London and are keen on knowing more about the history and culture of the Roman city :)

My friend and I did the Jack the Ripper walking tour last weekend and it was such an incredible experience. The perfect mix of informative, eerie, and lighthearted.
Our guide Jamie, was so amazing. The way he told the story of Jacks murders had the whole audience captivated. However he felt it more important to tell the stories of the victims and i’m so glad he did. Hearing their stories and allowing them to live on was far more interesting.
This is my 3rd experience with Strawberry Tours and each time it just gets better! Such an incredible company :)

Our guide Lucy was lovely she made the Harry Potter inspiration tour really interesting and threw in a few other gems of info as well.
A great idea to pay the guide what you think the tour is worth but sadly some people will just walk away.
Afterwards Lucy spent time chatting to my son who is at acting school giving him some very interesting and valuable information.
Highly recommended as a way to explore London in a different way.

Well first let's talk about Jamie. He is the best tour guide I have ever met. This guy just loves the story and anyone can see his passion for the subject. This guy is the definition of a "riprologist".
But that's not the only reason I think he's the best, it's the way and approach to the story that makes his tour great.He is the only one who treats this story as it is, the murder of five women and does not tell it in a glorifying way or turns it into a joke but in a serious and informative way with full respect for the victims and not the killer.
Besides him I'm an Arsenal fan so he's fine for me.

We booked to do three of the tours offered (Jack the Ripper, Harry Potter and the Ghost Tour). We had never done anything of the sort prior to the tours, and they exceeded any expectations that we had.
The Jack the Ripper tour and the Ghost tour were lead by Mark. Mark was a brilliant guide, who told us all the history in a way that was easy to listen to.
The Harry Potter tour and was lead by Olivia. She was as exceptional as Mark, talking us through the places that inspired Harry Potter, as well as other facts about the places that was fascinating.

Me and my girlfriend went on the free Jack The Ripper Tour with Strawberry Tours/London With A Local. Our tour guide, James, was excellent and really helpful, kind and informative and was obviously very passionate about the tour and presenting a great experience for all.
The tour itself was also excellent and takes you as close as possible to the events of 1888 and is described in great detail by the guide. Again, James was brilliant and a highlight of the tour himself and presented the tour in an entertaining and respectful manner (regarding the victims) and made sure that the victims were remembers and that it was their story.
Overall it's a must do for me and would happily do it again, and do not be put off by the fact it is free. I was blown away by the fact such a high quality tour which included such detail and even photographs via an iPad could be given with no fee. If you can you should definitely donate to the tour guide at the end of the tour and while this isn't compulsory it would reward the guides' hard work and enjoyable experience they provide free of charge!

We booked the Jack the Ripper tour, led by Dominick. He was the perfect tour guide for this particular tour. Not only was he knowledgeable with all the facts and anecdotes, his animated mannerisms made for a very fun and quick tour. As was suggested, we tipped Dominick at the tour’s end.

Around Eastern my boyfriend and I booked a Jack the Ripper tour. We didn't know what to except since this was our first walking tour. Our group leader was Jamie - a great guy! He really is passionate about telling stories and you get caught up in it quickly because of his telling! He also warns you if he is telling some more gruesome details so you can make your own choice if you wanna listen or not. I would highly recommend this tour, and especially Jamie our tourleader! He really made the experience.

Went on Mark's tour with my friend and was a thoroughly enjoyable night! Went and seen all the sights where Jack himself was ripping the throats of the east end, and stoped along the way at each location with a full in depth story with pictures to bring it all to life. Couldn't praise Mark any higher with his whit and enthusiasm throughout the whole duration of the tour! I feel credit and praise is due with him talking respectfully about the victims throughout the tour too. A highly recommended tour for all!

You get to go into the Harry Potter shop, but that’s really all they make time for. However, the tour is about two hours long if I recall, so you have time afterwards to circle back around to see things that you want to see.

I would like to join the tour of Harry Potter and the Ripper and of course I am willing to pay the tips. Does anyone know that they accept contactless card? I don't bring much cash nowadays during travel. Thanks!

I know most people pay cash but I think I’ve seen that some guides accepted contactless card (i took multiple tours with Strawberry free tours) You may ask when tou book the tour. Enjoy!

I haven’t done the tour you intend to do but I did do the Harry Potter tour and I can’t see an issue bringing a small dog.
Possibly the only concern would be if anybody on the tour is not comfortable with dogs or if any of the locations are indoors.
The tour I did was very relaxed, we walked in our group and we were given time to explore areas before moving on.
All the locations were in a public area so I think you will be fine but I’d always check with Strawberry beforehand

Para mucha gente la libra es cara a la hora de dar 10 libras por un tour de 3 horas a una persona que se gana la vida de esa forma, pero no lo es cuando pagan 30 a coca-cola por subirse al london eye. Independientemente de que "free" en inglés signifique libre o gratis, lo que uno tiene que hacer es valorar el trabajo de la persona que tienes delante y no aferrarse al concepto de gratis. Teniendo en cuenta que una pinta de cerveza cuesta más de 5 libras en la mayoría de pubs de Londres, creo que pagar lo mismo por un tour es insuficiente.
