Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

We were recommended this cocktail bar and ore-booked a table. It is difficult to find as there isn’t a sign outside, which keeps the speakeasy theme going. It’s well decorated bar and the cocktail list is different, in a good way. The drinks we ordered were very good and the service good rather than outstanding. At £12 a cocktail , plus service charge, this is medium to high end. The reason I have given it 4 rather than 5 starts I is that I’ve been to anther pre book only cocktail bar, it would not be fair to name here, where the waiters discussed what type of drinks you like and made recommendations on the basis that If you don’t like it they’ll give you another. Maybe that spoilt us. We would come back as the ambience and drinks were very good.

Great cocktails, really classy and intimate atmosphere. Attentive service. Best for a quiet few drinks rather than a big night out. Very expensive, but you expect that of fancy London bar.

I'd visited Milk and Honey as a guest numerous times but only recently became a member. There are a total of 4 floors, the first being open to anyone who books a table (2 hour limit for non members) and has the dark, secretive, speakeasy feel. Some may say too dark, but I'm absolutely fine with not having to stare at every detail of my friends faces, and there's enough light to read the drinks menu which is the important thing.

Upstairs, which is for members and their guests you have the "Red Room", which is a bit like being on someone's lounge. Drinks cabinets, and old fireplace, and comfortable leather chairs. The drinks are also a little different here, down the ice being perfectly clear and hand carved to the size of your glass (I know that sounds ridiculous but it's pretty impressive as far as ice goes).

Next floor, the games room, which can be booked for private events. Big enough for 8-10 seated and 15-20 stood, it's a cool room with comfortable sofas, etc.

Finally you have the rooftop terrace which looks out over Soho and is the perfect place for summer evening drinks.

It's not cheap. £10 a drink, and the bar food will set you back the price of a good meal, but what you get is great quality. Try a rum old fashioned if that's your thing, or just tell them what you like and they'll mix you up something good.

This place definitely isn't for a everyone. A good friend who's from the West Country and likes "a good old pub" has some very choice words for these kinds of bars. For me, though, it's nice to have somewhere a bit different to go when you fancy a decent cocktail.

Finally, a word of warning: if it's your first time, get there a few minutes early as the door is hard to find. If you look at the pub from the opposite side of the road you'll see a big, plain, door to the right with a buzzer just next to it. You'll get a few looks of "what are they up to?" as you go inside. If only they knew.

We went to this bar for my birthday as it is rated online as having one of the best espresso martinis in London (which is my favourite tipple). You have to book in advance, because it’s a members club, despite being dead on the night we went. There was no vibe in there but me and my long term girlfriend were looking forward to trying one of London’s best espresso martinis! We couldn’t see it on the menu so asked the waiter if it was possible to order some at which point he just started laughing at us saying “where did you see that? Online” and continued to mock us and then was explaining us how ‘this place works’ in an incredibly patronising way. He then advised we should go somewhere else if we wanted a drink like espresso martini, still taking the Micheal. Safe to say I’d never go back

I was told about this place by a friend and decided it was worth a visit. Called in and the receptionist was very helpful told me all available places and when I needed to extend my timing allowed me to do so very easily and without any hassle.

The staff are brilliant, its a nice, 'high end vibe giving kinda' place. The prices are fine in relation to other cocktail places around london. I booked a booth for 7 people and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Drinks definitely hit the spot and the "demsey" really did the trick. (Must try for those who like their booze)

This is a hidden gem and that's why I really didn't want to write a review on it. There are no signs, no obvious doorways just 3 black warehouse doors. It's the place to go if you want to avoid yelling at the top of your lungs to have a conversation. Nice ambience, quiet and overall a great experience.

I would definitely visit again!

This is a great little hidden bar just off Piccadilly Circus. It’s a members only club and non members have to reserve in advance and limited to a certain time inside. That’s cool and fair enough, however when we went we couldn’t help being made to feel slightly awkward because we’re non members. The waitress with glasses was lovely, but the lady on reception really wasn’t very warm or welcoming at all. Apparently there’s 4 rooms but all off limits apart from one which is known as the riffraff bar. It’s an exclusive joint and if we lived in London we’d probably join. That being said we wouldn’t return as non member folk.

In true American style, we entered Milk & Honey without reservations but full of hope we would not be turned away. The hostess asked the bar if seating was available and, to our luck, we were granted access before membership hours started. Our server was attentive, affable, and au fait with craft cocktails. The interior is beautiful, the atmosphere is lively but respectful of other tables, and the cocktails were perfection. I would acquire a membership to Milk & Honey just to experience this speakeasy again (and again and again…).

This place is hilarious, We went there with a group of girlfriends for a friends birthday. Arriving about 7.30 we were greeted by a rather charmless door girl who had obviously missed the staff training day where they covered greeting guests! We entered a small dimly lit room which was less than a third full (even on a Saturday night)and were taken to a small booth. Our waiter Jamie ,mid thirties was quite obviously frustrated with his lot in life and reminded me of one of my kids when they’ve asked to clear the table, surly and disinterested. After one drink Jamie came over and asked us to stop laughing which we thought was ridiculous ,this hadn’t been prompted by complaints from any other guests ( there weren’t enough people in the place) .I chatted to the manger about it because I thought Jamie was out of order. I sensed he thought Jamie was a bit of a prat too but didn’t want to say it . We asked for our bill and promptly left. It was notched it up as one of life’s great experiences and it gave us something to giggle ( in a more understanding watering hole)about later.

Great little place. Went for 1 hour pre dinner and staff were very friendly advising us on the cocktails on offer. Comfy place but very dark! Great for couples and groups. Good range of drinks and reasonable prices for central London. Couldnt get in til 6pm but gave us a pick of the tables. Would go back. Book in advance. Not easy to find as no signage.
