Neighborhood: Camden
Famous for its sprawling cluster of markets and shops as well as for an embrace of all things counter culture, Camden offers a concentrated version of London street life. From bargain shopping and people watching to rubbing elbows in its abundance of pubs and bars, Camden is the place to be for many a Londoner. It is also home to some of the hottest live music venues in Europe. As packed as Camden High Street and its tributaries can get during the weekends, this neighborhood is right next to some of the city's most beloved outdoor spaces, namely Regent's Park and Primrose Hill.

Closed until 6pm

THe website states opening hours are 3pm-12am. I booked via email using a KGB voucher for 5:30pm and went along with a friend. I was hugely embarrassed when we found the bar closed. The kebab place next door said they normally open between 6pm and 7pm, not 3pm as stated. We killed an hour at the pub next door, and after a while, my friend went to check. He said it was open. We finished our drinks and by the time we arrived, it was shut again!!! Bizarre. When we eventually got in, only one lady was serving. However, the cocktails were delicious especially the Long Island Iced tea, and the deal was good. On the negative side, there is only one toilet for both men and women. On the positive side, the bar was heaving by the time we left

When is a good deal not a good deal?
Aug 2013 • Couples
Answer:- When it is unavailable... I wish I had seen another review here first!

Tried several times to use a KGBdeal voucher (now in the process of trying to get money back). The phone is never answered so in desperation today we visited waited for 3pm - no sign of any life with the shutters down... Went to the pub a couple of doors down (nice beer!)... Came back out several times but again no sign of life! We waited until 6.30pm with the place still shut. The KGBdeals voucher says open 3pm - midnight 7 days a week - which is clearly rubbish and it is Saturday evening! Having spent time trying to contact them and wasted money on a fruitless journey nothing better than a score of "1" can some up this 'attraction'.

There is no sign up showing opening times nor is there any information on the phoneline - just a phone that rings but is never answered!

Appalling!

Small unprepared bar - but great voucher deal
Aug 2013 • Friends
I visited here this Thursday with my sister with a £10 KGB voucher for 8 cocktails. I can't really complain about this place really seeing as cocktails worked out at £1.25 each
The place was packed with what seemed to be only voucher holders. Two members of staff (the guy and french lady) were lovely but the other I noticed was pouring the 'leftovers' from customers' fresh cocktails into a glass for herself, and would stand in the corner of the bar sipping it rather than serving people! Very odd. Quite obviously a new place, very unprepared - they sliced a lime every time someone ordered Corona, and served some cocktails in wine glasses. Fun music. Cocktails OK. Sometimes other people had their drinks prepared before be even after I made an order, which puzzled me. All in all, have no reason to return, unless the £10 voucher appears again, as it was cheaper than making the cocktails at home!

Average bar, very slow service but has potential
Aug 2013
I used the KGB voucher for 8 cocktails on a Thursday night and the bar was reasonably full. Mixed crowd , loud music and the decor is nice enough but not hugely comfy. Drinks are ok.
The service is slow , everyone is busy and doing stuff ever so busily but no one seems to get served ! The owner was there and seems to be hanging around talking to any glam people.
One toilet is ridiculous !
All in all a missable bar , I wouldn't go again , it holds no allure whatsoever

SHOCKING!!!

I had this KGB Voucher deal which entitled me and a friend for 8 cocktails. I invited a friend of mine to London that day to have a good catch up. I asked him to meet me outside Pure Bar at 3:45pm. When we got to there the bar was closed. I was quite embarrassed in front of my friend as he had travelled from Brighton to see me. I checked the voucher again to see the opening times and it said open 7 days a week 3pm till 12am. We waited for another hour and it was still closed. We asked the next door Lebanese restaurant what time does the bar open and they said sometimes 8 or 9pm. I was shocked as this is false and illegal advertising. What was suppose to be a cheap day to catch up with my friend turned up to be a very expensive one. My friend had to catch a train back at 8pm. I even called at 7:15 and they were still closed as no one answered. SHOCKING!!

Pure Potential
May 2013 • Friends
Went here on a Friday evening 31st May around 8pm with a KGB voucher 8 cocktails between 2 persons for £10 - an offer that good could seriously not be passed up (even if I hadn't ventured into this end of London in many years...reminders of misspent youth and all that;) and the promo video advertising the bar on the KGB site was very enticing!

After an initial dispute with the owner with regards to not having printed out the voucher (I had actually agreed by mail to have it on my app...non the less) my friend and I looked for a seat.

Though they had what looked like a very comfortable large Chesterfield brown leather sofa in what looked like the "sultry" back lounge room of the bar, there was no one else back there so we choose to be up front where it was busier and one of the bar guys moved 2 bar stools on to the back wall conveniently within arms reach of the bar.

From a choice of 6 cocktails we had 4 each comprising of Mojitos, Long Island Iced Tea and several Cosmopolitians.

Thinking at this deal the drinks would be watered down I was pleasantly surprised that they were made quite well!

The manager also turned out to be quite a nice and friendly guy (after our initial dispute) and all in all we had a pleasant evening.

It was not so busy on the night we went but am assuming as its a new bar that it still has to find its place in the surrounding busy area of bars and nightlife (it's situated 2 mins walk from Mornington Crescent station on the southern end of Camden High Road)
The bar itself has a lot of potential in terms of atmosphere and setting (think dark wood, large mirrors, relaxed back room with comfy sofas, pictures etc). It has a dark moody "speakeasy" kind of setting, seating space in the front with tables and bars and a more relaxed "lounge" area at the back area (on the aforementioned sofa(s) which could really enhance the atmosphere if the place was full.

Only down side is there is one toilet and its unisex, and with a full bar this could be a potential problem (its a nice toilet though)

Definitely worth giving it a try especially as I have seen more deals on offer (not as many cocktails but with an added snack platter...which I can't comment on as never tried...why waste good drinking space;)

All in all had a good night of catch up over cocktails which was even worth me leaving a tip on top of the voucher (& I don't leave tips freely)

Would go again.
