Very easy to book, Paul contacted us within a couple of hours for a tour the same day. There was no need to pay upfront, just pay on arrival. Great value @10 GBP per person, we had a 2 for 1 which made it even better. The walk was a leisurely stroll through White chapel, Paul was very informative and pointed ut many points of interest. Unfortunately a lot of places have changed since 1888, however Paul used photographs and Digital images to bring the areas back to life. The walk lasted just under 2 hours which was just the right amount of time. Would highly recommend and will defiantly be on our to do list next time in London.

We met out side Aldgate station, our guide was Paul Mansfield who has been conducting Ripper tours for over 13 years and has made 5 documentaries on the subject. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and was very informative and we were shown lots of photographs. We also visited a couple of sights from the Harry Potter movies in London.

The tour was amazing, start to finsh we were kept engaged. The tour guide paul was very knowledgeable and passionate about the topic and this kept us all intrigued. He has a great sense of British humour too. This was the first tour coming out of lockdown due to the covid19 pandemic. Paul wore a mask throughout and used a microphone with a speaker it was also our first outing of such since March and it was great, we felt safe at all times and really enjoyed the tour with the small group, pick up loads of information and facts about this part of the East End of London in addition to The whole Jack The Ripper history.

I don't recognise the tour I was on in the effusive comments listed below.

This is a Jack the Ripper tour, not an East End of London ramble, so the focus of the tour should only be Jack the Ripper, yet the tour was padded out with random facts about Harry Potter film locations and other irrelevances such as the going rate for prostitutes in London today. We didn't get to hear much about the victims, their situations, histories or anything much about them except that they were friends and all drank in The Ten Bells. The guide, Paul, didn't even give us their names, just 'Victim Number 5' or 'Victim Number 1', and so on.

He was very shouty and his 'jokes' about women, Americans and him being a serial killer were straight out of the 1970s and not appropriate [I agree with Shannon T's review below]. The tour ended in a rush, with him expounding on his 'theory with a twist', which was basically that the Royal surgeon did it, and that was that. I came away from the tour knowing nothing more about Jack the Ripper and his victims than I knew beforehand.

All in all, a real disappointment. Very little storytelling, no atmosphere building and no rapport built with his audience. He may know his facts, but I think he needs to reconsider the way he delivers them in order to improve his customers' experience.

This tour about a serial killer of women seemed to be stuck in an era of misogyny. The guide's main jokes were all about him possibly being a serial killer and jokes about his wife, not a good combo, not funny ever. The "jokes" proceeded in this way for the entire length of the tour leaving me offended and shocked that anyone working in a hospitality industry could be so blantantly offensive and rude. As credible and interesting as some of the information was, it was presented in such a way that me and my friends were made to feel lesser just because we have vaginas. Over all a really unpleasant evening..

Prebooked via e mail using 241 rail voucher. Prompt replies from Paul, easily sorted. Our teenage daughter loved the tour, for me it just was a little too long, but that’s just me. Paul, our guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly

Excellent communication regarding booking and where to meet for start of tour.
Tour guide Paul was exceptionally knowledgeable with a witty and entertaining delivery.
As well as visiting the murder scenes and various other landmarks concerning Jack the Ripper’s reign of terror, he provided some worthwhile background information on the areas of London through which the walk took us.
A very interesting ‘twist in the tale’, as he described it, towards the end of the tour, provided a thought provoking insight as to the possible identity (still unconfirmed after 130+years)of the notorious Jack.
Only minor criticism was that the tour took two hours to complete which was a a bit of a hard slog at times. With some of the ‘padding’ taken out, it could possibly have been condensed into a more comfortable 90 minute or less and would still have provided excellent value for money.

Did a Jack The Ripper Tour last night w Paul. We paid a tad extra to do a private tour and it was well worth it !! Paul was amazingly knowledgable and very entertaining. The photos were quite graphic but so added to the story that was told. Learnt lots of other interesting facts and tid bits about East London too.

Thoroughly recommend.

I was hoping for an informative tour covering the story of victims and the investigation. All we had instead was the guide pointing out places and saying: that is the place where victim number one was murdered (no names?). While making some bad taste jokes about woman, about him being the murderer, and talking about prostitution as it's a nice fun thing while mentioning the murder of 5 prostitutes.

We had some information about harry potter sites, about other few movies that been shot around the area and even about street art. I get that it's always nice to know something unexpected but I would much prefer to have the Jack the ripper story covered up instead.
Not to mention that he took us to see a bansky art work that is not a Banksy at all.
