Nika was a brilliant guide for our Bowie walking tour of Soho. She was so friendly and clearly passionate about what she was telling us & showing us, which as Bowie fans was great. Soho is an amazing place . Check out The Thin White Duke for coffee , shown to us by Nika. Would highly recommend her tours & will do another one.

This is a very interesting walk about David Bowie's time in Soho.
Nika is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and the places that he frequented. We all found it so interesting and Nika is happy to answer any questions and tell you more history. She also found out that there is a new cafe opening in March 2022 called The Thin White Duke which is a tribute to Bowie and the music Industry. Great fun and informative. We will definitely be in touch when in London for another tour. Thank you.

Thanks Nika, for the most enjoyable tour a couple of weeks ago.
We had a lovely morning walk around Soho with Nika. She was charismatic and enthusiastic. Her extensive knowledge of Soho's history is very impressive! She was completely engaged throughout the entire tour.
Even as someone who has lived and worked in London for many years, I've learnt interesting new facts and discovered previously unknown hidden parts of the City. I know the area pretty well, but not as well as I thought! Nika was personable, engaging, humorous and very knowledgeable.
Our "Soho Coffee Tour" lasted for 90 mins and took us mainly around Soho and the most iconic coffees and coffee shops. We really enjoyed all the lovely little gems of information and history Nika shared with us; I loved the fact that around every corner we found a small forgotten coffee, shop or monument we never knew existed. I felt in love with “My Place”, so fresh and delicious food, with extremely friendly staff and furnished with exquisite taste.
I would highly recommend Nika to both tourists and to Londoners who want to do something a bit different. Funny facts, interesting stories and a lot of energy made the tour a truly enjoyable experience.
Thanks Nika for a memorable day!
I'd definitely recommend her services. 10/10

I recently experienced another excellent guided walk by Nika Garrett. We learnt so much about Bowie's efforts to break through as the huge rock star he became!
We visited the street where his first agent was based & the Soho venue where Bowie's talent was first spotted. Lindsay Kemp had a major influence on Bowie as a young performer, introducing him to the art of mime which would influence Bowie's creation of Ziggy Stardust. You will enjoy this walk very much, enjoy!

The streets of Soho are a labyrinth! For 90 minutes, Nika had expertly guided us through them. We were whisked off into those little hidden corner pockets, where the birth and the history of the Soho coffee culture first began. The tour is a real eye opener, and that’s not just because of the coffee!
The tour traverses the history and locality of Soho coffee shops both past and present. We were told secreted stories of how these early businesses had managed to get started and the world famous names behind them. I had learnt how throughout the 20th century these coffee establishments had intertwined with the area’s music and club scene and so they themselves became part of the very essence of Soho’s character.
Nika perfectly presents this information in a way that will make you remember all her little nuances forever. “You know what they used to call Frith Street.. don’t you?” Well, I do now!
We visited a wonderfully authentic coffee shop for a complimentary coffee. Exquisite selections of the finest coffee (and chocolate!) were displayed along with the unforgettable aroma of freshly ground beans. The tour ends with a visit to a fabulous café. Both places were friendly and welcoming in a way only true independents can be.
When the tour ended I walked back through a sunny and bustling Old Compton Street where black and white clad waiters busied around the tables outside. With all this knowledge I had gained I sensed that part of the heart and soul of this 24-hour area had been revealed to me. I almost felt like a local, I now knew what made Soho tick!

I have visited Soho many times, mainly for the restaurants and music venues, but rarely for a coffee. Nika’s Soho Coffee Tour provides a fascinating and tasty 90 minute stroll through the colourful collection of streets just to the north of Shaftesbury Avenue. Nika has clearly done her research and I learnt how, over the years, waves of immigrants have stamped their personalities and cultures on the area. Yet Soho as we know it is under threat from developers and many of the independent cafes and coffee shops may struggle to survive. Nika’s tour is a timely reminder that there is so much more to the coffee experience than a small number of high street chains. Ultimately though, the test of a great tour is whether it leaves you wanting to find out more. I certainly do. I now have a long list of cafes to visit, many of which I would never have thought of entering before I took the tour. Thanks Nika!

Last week I was privileged to be guided around London's fascinating Fleet Street by Nika. It's the fifth walk I've had with her and her knowledge of London never ceases to amaze me.
The history of the area was brought to life not just with historical facts but also with secrets and snippets that could never be gained by googling. I love the way Nika brings photographs of the area how it used to look hundreds of years ago so you can picture the scene you're looking at how it used to be and feel taken back in time! And it's the little extra things she includes in the tour which I love, such as stopping to point out some tiles remaining on a premises which revealed it used to have a very different trade to today.
Old City walls, gates, Inns of Court and historic clocks made me stop and gaze picturing London how it once would have been in this amazing old street. Nika also brought to life some of the characters of Fleet Street's newspaper industry including a poverty stricken street urchin who went from selling papers to writing one of Hollywood's most famous films!
Nika pointed out the pub with the narrowest frontage in London then took me to another jaw droppingly beautiful pub steeped in history where we ended the tour with a lovely chat and a drink. The pub used to be the Bank of England and sits in between 'The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' Sweeney Todd's barber shop and his mistress Mrs Lovett's pie shop. It is said that he would butcher his victims in the vaults and tunnels below the pub before putting them in Mrs Lovett's pies!! We didn't eat the pies on the menu although I'm sure they're very good!
I thoroughly recommend this tour with brilliant Nika who guided with passion and care as always. Thank you Nika.

I recently joined Nika on an evening walk through Soho, a fascinating area with many stories to tell. This particular tour took us back in time to the 1960s and early 70s and the Soho that David Bowie knew. Nika did a wonderful job of bringing this time back to life, highlighting the coffee bars, record shops, clubs and recording studios of Bowie's early career and sharing the stories of his time there.
The walk was well researched, informative and also great fun! To round off the evening, we enjoyed drink in The Ship, one of Bowie's regular haunts – perfect!
