- Daz EastyHuddersfield, United Kingdom305 contributionsWe came to see the last laugh play and it was brilliant, the characters were just about spot on in appearance and sound. Our seats had an excellent view of the stage and were pretty comfortable. Staff were very helpful. The one issue we had which stopped this being 5 star was the chaos at the bar/landing area, by quarter past 7 the bar area down the stairs was already packed with people queing outside onto the landing area of the stairs which also led down to the stalls seats and the mens toilet, the area was dangerously packed with people trying to get in or out of the bar, up or down the stairs to and from the circle or up and down to the stalls or toilet, whoever decided on this set up, having 3 lots of people traffic all hitting the same area including a bar queue needs to have a good look at it, people were clearly getting annoyed and concerned as at one point there was literally nowhere to go, it didn't help that the bar only had 2 people serving neither as the queue wasn't moving. Still, i would return to this theatre as it's a lovely venue ideally situated around the corner from Leicester Square station.Visited March 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten March 11, 2025
- stephens473Nottingham, United Kingdom529 contributionsGreat venue , very helpful and friendly staff, plenty of places to get a drink and the toilets were spotless. Seats were very comfortable - just as well as the show was 3.5 hours long. We went to see Player Kings with Ian McKellen - outstanding performance from him and an outstanding production , definitely a must see.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 24, 2024
- John B1 contributionWhen the theatre was built in the late 1890s, people were small in size and stature and an average size person today would have been considered Large. So if by todays BMI you are considered Obese PLEASE DO NOT GO, as you will ooze out of your chair and into your neighbour's space, in a similar way to airline seats. Both my wife and I had to suffer an obese person each side of us for 80 minutes, which spoilt our evening. Also You'll likely to need to use a disabled toilet because the normal ones are small ( built for 1890s normal people)Visited March 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten March 8, 2025
- CarolineDTruro, United Kingdom336 contributionsSaw Player Kings which was superb. Theatre is old and historic and that’s also a fun part of the experience. The seats are terrible though - very hard and not much leg room. It’s a chore to get through four hours. Thought the tickets were expensive though we did have an amazing view.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 31, 2024
- Jon VBradford, United Kingdom208 contributionsWe saw The Player Kings. A pretty much 4hr play with Ian McKellan. A great adaptation and a very well acted performance by all the cast. A massive thank you to the theater for upgrading our seats from poor view to a brilliant Royal Circle view.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2024

Fabulous theatre and amazing show! Went to see The Ocean at the End of the Lane, based on a Neil Gaiman book. The show was so well staged that I can thoroughly recommend it. The staff were very conscientious - even during the show they were very evident and ensuring people's safety. I also think one staff member got some water for a man that was coughing a lot, which is definitely above and beyond! (I don't know for sure as he was behind me, but she spoke to him, left, and came back with something for him).

We went to see The Motive and the Cue. Mark Gatiss played Sir John Gielgud and was amazing, great performance, visibly and vocally he was very believable. Big shout out to Johnny Flynn who plays Richard Burton. His performance and his energy and passion really showed what an incredible actor he is and one I shall be watching.

My daughter and I went to see Dear Evan Hansen, had this review been based on the show it would have been given 5 stars. The show was excellent, the cast was small but they were all fabulous. The theatre is small in comparison to some but had a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar area was well stocked and reasonably priced. There was hand sanitiser and staff encouraged everyone towear masks but social distancing was impossible as the seats are very close together, staircase were busy and toilet facilities are extremely small. My biggest gripe is paogood money for seats in row J-10 rows from the front so technically should have been a perfect view-it wasn’t. Unfortunately we were sat behind 2 men who were both over 6foot-we are only 5’4”/5’5”. We didn’t see the whole stage. At half time we asked if we could move to empty seats which would have cost less than half the price, and staff were very obliging. I would recommend this show but I wouldn’t pay high prices for seats.

Guys please educate your team on what a “safe” return to the theatre looks like...despite and expensive stall ticket just by me saying I had a Covid jab got me through to another line...no proof required. More shockingly I asked Robert the supervisor if I could move to an edge seat having had only one jab and being like a sardine in my seat. Despite empty seating he did NOTHING to accommodate kept saying people might join late what even half way through the second half of the show? A really shocking experience that I intend to log formally anyway. The performance of 222 was awesome sadly someone like Robert impacts enjoyment myself and other clients were astonished when he said my name is “supervisor” that is my name. Seriously please get your act together if you want to make this a success. Front of house are so important!

Beautiful theatre. I broke my ankle a week before the performance and was nervous about how I would get around the theatre. I didn’t need to worry. A huge thank you to Lazlo to looking after me (and my scooter). What terrific service! Lazlo was so thoughtful and made sure I was ok before the performance, in the interval and after the show. Limited mobility is stressful but the Noel coward theatre took a lot of the stress away.

Outraged. Attended DEAR EVAN HANSEN on Tuesday (17th December). I do not expect to pay substantial amounts on tickets to see a group of immature actors trying not to laugh during a key emotional part of the play. Leading man Sam Tutty showed utter disrespect for the audience who were paying his salary, his fellow actors and the authors and creators of the play. In attending theatre for some 30 years, I have never seen such a disgrace on the professional stage. What is worse, is I have now spoken to other people who saw the show on December 3 and experienced the same type of thing thing. In fairness, the show itself is great, I have previously seen it in New York, but a new London Evan would make it much better. Should be ashamed of himself.
The theatre is beautiful. One of London's finest. Stunningly maintained, and great acoustics.

Went to watch Best of Enemies. Security/ticket check in was easy. Several stands throughout for the bar - drinks and snacks. Seats are not uncomfortable but not the most comfortable either and pretty filthy. Clean the seats!
The arrangement of the rows are also not the best designed. If you're sitting behind a person even remotely tall, you weren't seeing anything the whole show. Bathroom lines at intermission is very long.

The Noel Coward remains one of our favourite theatres in the West End - relatively small, comfortable and lovely front of house staff. Seats towards the front/sides of the dress circle provide excellent sight lines (the steep curve of the balcony places you remarkably close to the stage) and are relatively modestly priced.
We’d seen Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway a couple of months earlier and were underwhelmed following the crazy hype (sadly we didn’t see Ben Platt) but the UK production has put right that wrong and is stunning. I was crying within fifteen minutes of the show starting and pretty much kept it up for the rest of the running time!
Sam Tutty is a fantastic, fragile, funny Evan, and, for us, the production works much better on the smaller, more intimate Noel Coward stage than it does in New York.
Take tissues!

After a four year absence our yearly London visit resumes. Three nights at the theatre during the 6 day stay with Dear Evan Hanson, a musical about a high school senior with social anxiety. So well done with an incredible cast. The word is that many of these fine shows are due to close. Try to see this one. Tony award for best musical.

The theater is undoubtedly one of the more petite theatres in that area. Staff were well presented, professional and welcoming. Saw Dear Evan Hansen and the show itself was brilliant. Actors, orchestra, lighting and staging pitch perfect given the slightly darker themes of the show- however with just enough humour to provide some relief!
Sat in ROW T of stalls (towards the very back and excellent view of the stage).

Most venues in the US have very specific bag/ personalized item policies . Are there any specifications at this theater for the type or size of purse you can bring in? (I.e. clear , small clutch, etc)
Written April 1, 2022
No specifications at all. Take what you like. If the bag is larger than a rucksack you'll likely to be asked to put it in the cloakroom

Hi, how easy is it to herald a taxi from outside the theatre on a Friday night (without prebooking)?
Written December 6, 2019
I went on a Saturday night and outside the theatre was as busy as during the day so I didn't get a taxi I got a bus back to my hotel as this was relatively easy and cheaper.

Seating: I go to NYC plays several times/year, but have never been to the theater in London. Now we are considering going to see NIGHT OF THE IGUANA and I'm a bit afraid of the seat reviews. We typically like to get either first row in balcony or a pair of seats with an aisle. These are both possibilities for this play/theater. But I'd also like to see how to buy a "box". How do you do that? Can it be done on line or do you have to call? Can someone share their experiences with box seats? Any boxes better than others in Noel Coward? Thanks in advance for any help.
Written February 27, 2019
I don't know if any balconies are better than others, but they can certainly be booked on line

I turn 50 on the 16/02 and decided to see The Girl From The North Country. As a rule, I stay local to home...Northampton or Milton Keynes.
The reviews for the play thus far have been overwhelmingly exceptional. However, the Noel Coward Theatre itself....its old, I understand that. I’m going to be sat in the stalls, row L in the middle.
The reviews have unanimously state the seating is uncomfortable and not enough leg room.
Can’t do anything about leg room.
Those that have sat in the stalls row L... bring a cushion??
Also is the stalls tiered or all on one level ?? Is it a good seating position as the seats are mid price??
I look forward to your response.
Thanks in advance.

I believe that we were in row O or P in the stalls for the play we saw. Yes the seats are tiered and the view is fine. The seats are typical of the older London theatres and yes they can be a bit uncomfortable. Our play had a long first act - nearly one and a half hours - so was pleased when the interval came and we could stand up and walk around!

Can anyone tell me what the view is like from the balcony please? Or would it be a better investment to sit nearer the stage?
Written December 18, 2017
don't get aa tickets in balcony as view is terrible. went today with my daughter and left as could not see anything.

I would like to take my mum on her 90th birthday to this show and wondered if there were areas in the theatre which is easily accessible on Wednesday 1st Feb matinee?
Written November 18, 2016
The Box Seats on either side are the best for easy access and comfort. Everything else is standard theater row seating, in other words, very tight and uncomfortable. But the show was fantastic! As others have suggested call the box office and they might give you a good deal on a box.

With so many ticket agencies for theatre, can anyone offer advice on which agency (s) to use for buying tickets? Many thanks!
Written October 28, 2015
i always go online to buy it direct from the theatre but it might direct you to ATG or LoveTheatre.

How far does the Royal Circle go over the stalls at the Noel Coward Theatre in London--in terms of rows. I'm trying to compare row O in the stalls with row A in the Royal Circle--in terms of closest to the stage.
MANY THANKS!
