Our WWII walking tour with Canice was probably the best thing I did in London over my week there. Obviously, London is a super expensive city, so most people might try to mix in a free tour or two to kill time while saving money, but damn this tour turned out to be incredibly engaging. Canice is full of knowledge and personality--and in some cases, euphemisms. Between a great guide, plentiful info and hitting some interesting spots along the way, this tour was worth more than the majority of paid tours offered in London.

We booked the Jack the Ripper Tour and Sinead was our tour guide. It was nice to receive a confirmation email a few days before our tour. For over 2 hours she told an incredible and very sad story of what happened during that time, giving insight not only into the murders but the reality ofvthe Times. She was so theatrical and spoke so clearly and loudly and made sure everyone in the group could see her while she spoke. She painted a picture of the events at the different stops and was mesmerizing! We didn’t know who our guide would be until a few days before our tour but so glad it was her. She was so detailed and made sure we all understood the gravity of why this is such an infamous murder. As an aside, this is free to book and no payment is required, but if the guide puts as much effort in as she did, they deserve a fair tip, not just a few pounds. Just my opinion there. Highly recommended!

Canice was amazing! We did not know what to expect - we booked a "free tour", not expecting much, but we were so surpised and intrigued by the tour he led, and we would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about the triumph and tragedy on that historical day during the WWII Blitz in London. Canice brought humor and great historical knowledge and storytelling to the tour, so we laughed and learned. Book with him if you can!

Canice is great. He is not only entertaining he is very knowledgeable about the bombing of London during the war and the impact on the city and the people.
He brought us though the city and to St Paul's cathedral and described how it survived
I would highly recommend the tour to all as it is informative and very enjoyable!

We joined two excellent waling tours with Canice (West End tour) and Wesley (Street Art and Brixton tour).
Canice showed us very interesting places in the west end and told us very interesting stories about the actors and the history of the theaters and their owners. Canice could be an actor as well an narrate his stories very lively. We had a very interesting and entertaining tour. (Highly recommended)
The tour with Wesley was very interesting as well. He showed us lot of street art (even at places very normal tourist never would go). We have got a understanding about people and lifestyle in Brixton. A very good tour as well.
Free Tours by Foot is perfect organized. All information are quick and precise.
And of course the tours are affordable for family. We paid 15-25 GBP per person and tour. But everyone takes his own decision what he is able to pay; nice idea.

Canice is a brilliant guide with excellent knowledge about what happened in London during World War II. He depicted the fire raids with great details such that you could imagine as if you were present in the scene. He’s also a very energetic guy with great sense of humour. I highly recommend his World War II tour if you’re interested in the WWII history from the Londoners point of view. Thank you Canice!

My family reserved the London Graffiti and Street Art Tour, on Dec 2019, in Shoreditch. Our Guide Nelly was amazing, she was knowledgeable, interesting, clear, she made us look at street art and Graffiti in a whole new way. the tour itself was built very well, with a small break in the middle that gave us the opportunity to ask questions and indulge in a very nice conversation.
I highly recommend if you want to experience Shoreditch that you join in on this tours.

I’ve been to many London walking tours and actually work in the City for the last 10 years. And the tour was a full 2 hrs of new facts and perspectives! Canice brought to life some of the most tremendous and dramatic events of WW2 in London, and was able to add so many more aspects. This was a truly amazing experience and I would recommend to anyone visiting or living in London to take this tour .

Free Tours by Foot is an amazing community of local residents who have constructed each tour on their own. It is a passion that they have and you can tell right away. There is NO catch to this free tour. Pay what you like for the tour and company. We typically pay anywhere from 10-15 per person.
These tours almost always bring us to place we never would have seen or gone to with other tours. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and love chatting you up for whatever you want.
Neil Bateman was our guide for this "other' side of the docks and pub tour. We went to 4 pubs, where each had their own story of piracy and history. I especially liked that we walked along the River Thames and had wonderful views of Tower Bridge at night. We had cider at each bar, but they had a large variety of alcohol or not to choose from. This was a side of the river docks that I never would have seen if we didn't take this tour. My husband and I were traveling and enjoyed 4 other Free tours while we were in London.
Canice Bannon was our guide for WWII-specifically we walked the areas most damaged by the Blitz in 1940. We learned of the 24 hours before and of the courageous men and women who helped fight the war. It was awe inspiring.
Sinead loves talking about Jack the Ripper. She took us to the actual locations were 3 of the 5 women were found and discussed the social and economic life back in 1888. The stories were very detailed about the women’s lives before their death and how they each died. She really brought the story to life.
I always felt safe and enjoyed the comfortable chatting and history during our tour. They all made us feel very welcome!

Canice was a great tour guide, full of lots of information and history on the theatres, actors and buildings. He mixed it in with some humour to make the tour interesting.
Would recommend these walking tours as a guide to help you get as much information as possible :)

We plan to do the All in One Tour. While I appreciate the mandate of not paying for a tour you haven't taken I would appreciate a range of what would be appropriate to pay. I don't want to be seen as a cheapo and hubs and I can't seem to agree as to what would be a suitable amount. Thanks in advance for your help! ;)

I would think that an amount of between 10 - 20GBP would be reasonable. Dependent on the guide's knowledge, insight and information provided.
As I travel with my wife I normally pay 20 GBP or Euro as appropriate. Enjoy

The London Pub Crawl and Cockney Sing Along indicates it ends at Mr. Foggs… but they are booked that night. Does the tour actually go into the Cockney Sing along at Mr. Foggs for the Cockney Sing Along or is it just the last stop and you’re on your own for a table? I want to be sure to temper my expectations.

Most likely, yes. It depends on how many people show up. If you couldn't make a reservation because the tour was booked out, then please call us and see if there are any cacellations.

On the London all-in-one tour you use the subway to get around. How much should one have pre-loaded on an oyster card in order to make the tour?

As I recall, you go from the tube stop at Westminster to St. Paul's. I can't imagine it's more than 4 pounds each.
Hi, just a question. Were there other people in the group besides you? Or just your group of friends?

They start at different places, depending the tour. Ours, about the 2nd World War, started at a pub door, and our guide even contacted a couple that weren´t there, before starting the tour !!!!

We are scheduled to do the East London Food Tour next month. How much money should we bring for each person for the food items? I want to be sure to have enough to sample everything, but of course, will have a cc as a backup. Thanks!
