The area

Neighborhood: Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.

    Great entertainment
Went with some friends on the Friday night to celebrate a 70th birthday. Managed to park right outside after 7pm, which was a bonus. Door staff really friendly before we went in. Staff not really ready when we got there, but didn’t wait too long. The food menu displayed is not very easy to understand, so consequently we ordered far too much, but prices not excessive for the centre of Greenwich. The food itself was really tasty and satisfying. Drink prices are also really reasonable. Upstairs seating is comfy but the lighting is a bit too dim to make it easy to see what you are eating and could do with being a little brighter. The seating in the club is very cramped and chairs are very tightly packed together, with very little room to move. However, the compère was excellent!! Very entertaining and comical. There were four comedians and two breaks throughout the evening. Three of the four were really excellent, with the final act being especially good. One comedian was just shouty and crude, which was totally unnecessary. However the evening was a total success with everyone enjoying both food and entertainment. We will definitely be returning and encouraging others to go for a good and not too expensive evening out.

    Good
An enjoyable evening with fair priced Drinks. Chairs were small with small seats and consequently we felt cramped. More suited to Children. As we did not eat there I am unable to comment. Staff were very friendly but there was definitely a problem with the Mic/Sound in the first Act

If it’s uncontrollable giggles that you want, look no further
Quite literally the best comedy club in London, always has the best acts (and always on time!) the most accommodating team and they’re so friendly too, the establishment itself has the most welcoming vibe and every time I’ve been it’s always been an amazing night filled with laughter and and positive atmosphere. Special thanks to Micheal who is carrying the torch for what good management (I assume) looks like and needs a raise because he really helped me out an issue I had. All in all 11/10 of you get the chance to go I can’t recommend enough!

Thank you Up The Creek for putting together Saturday 5th Feb line up of compare Michael Legge and comics @Jimmy James Jones, @Paul Thorne and Mike Gunn (Comedian).
All comics worked the lively crowd exceptionally well. An exceptional night that had me laughing hard all night, so hard I woke up with a sore throat. That has never happened before at a comedy club.
Own brew craft beer, bar service could be improved. But exceptional nite.
Thank you Up the Creek Comedy Club — at Up the Creek Comedy Club

Hi Stuart! It's great to hear that you had such an amazing night at Up the Creek! We're sorry for the limited selection of our own brews on the night you visited. We have just hired a new full time brewer at Up the Creek and have two new brews which will be ready very soon. Hopefully we will see you again soon - we would love to give you a free pint of one of our new brews and see what you think!

The comedy was hit and miss but it only cost £15 for a three hour night out. Drinks are really great value. They have a not overly popular disco after the comedy. Didn’t get food but portions looked enormous. Was a fun evening at a reasonable price which is all you can ask for these days.

We came here with many others to enjoy the National Youth Film Academy after party at 1pm on Saturday 15th October. The building is superb and there was plenty of comfy seating for all. The food cooked in front of you on site was amazing and we really couldn't fault the place or the function. Thank You.

A superb venue full of character . Great bar very reasonably priced drinks . The compare Maureen and 3 guest comedians were hilarious. Our favourite was Stefano who combined beat box and impressions in his act . Absolutely brilliant. All 7 of us throughly enjoyed the evening and all staff were so friendly . A definite recommendation for a great night out .

Attended tonight for first time in over six months and wished I hadn’t.
Their facilities are filthy and poor. Toilet floor flooded and lock on cubicle not working. Then insult to injury when door staff yanked open the door and suggested I was taking drugs!!!
Reported to who I was told was the manager and was told not to come back if you do not like, this was after I was told they check and clean the facilities between acts - I pointed out I often attended very frequently and stopped as was/is often filthy!!!
Staff have very poor attitude.

At Up the Creek we operate a zero tolerance policy for any drug use. As a result, if customers are suspected of using drugs on site we do ask them to leave. We apologise that you feel you were asked to leave unfairly. However, our security team do not do this without substantial evidence suggesting that drugs have been used or brought on site. With regard to a flooded toilet, we inspected the facilities immediately after your complaint on the night and could not find a problem. Our toilets are all checked by a member of staff prior to every interval and any problems are dealt with immediately.

Took my wife for a nice night out.We use to go to Holborn and Piccadilli for comedy shows but saw this in Greenwich and decided to give it a go. The funniest person there the night was the person presenting the acts. The first comedian, a French person personally insulted a 67 year old and other guests around him who tried to protect him. The comedian as all comedians tried connecting with the audience and get them to participate but instead of staying professional and rolling with it dropped his mic. He later explained how he would F##k the guests wife better than he could and told him if he was gay his boyfriend would look better than the guests wife. Also explaining how he don't care that the one guest is 67 years old. It went from age discrimination to sex discrimination to just being blatantly rude and out of order. He dropped his mic and explained that he gets paid anyway and don't care. The complete first act was like this. So we paid to see an unprofessional comedian being disrespectful. No food is served there. This was a terrible experience. If someone told me I would pay money to witness a unprofessional comedian with no respect throw his and the establishments reputation away i would never have been able to imagin this.People, there are beter things to spend your money on. This club seem to have spent good money on the presenter and not their comedian. Extremely disappointed.

I attended to the comedy night on the 18/02/17 with a big group of friends for my friends 21st birthday.

It was a fun evening until one of the door men started a fight with an innocent man that was sitting opposite me. He asked the door man who was a tall slim black man if he can clean up a drink that had been spilt over this ladies table. The door man decided to shout in his face, pushing him with his hand and making a big scene whilst a compare was on the stage introducing the second act. Everyone was looking and I was so scared I sat in my seat shaking like a leaf! The doorman then was offering him outside to have a fight and I genuinely thought I was going to get hurt because I was so close behind this man.

The rest of the night I couldn't focus on the comedy acts because I was so frightened of this doorman. He was hovering around us all night and kept pulling people out of the room and disturbing the show every 5 minutes.

I am so disgusted that they have someone so angry, violent and rude working for somewhere that people go, to have a good laugh and a fun evening. I have to say I will not be coming back here again as I felt really unsafe and on edge for the whole rest of the show.

Defo not going back

Reason marked this low is because of the bouncers, they are actually an embarassment to the place, walking around looking for someone to tell off and have a row with, visiting as a group of girls we found their behaviour unsettling and uneccessary. Alrhough they did not approach us in particular, the way they all crowded around a young lad and threw him out was bullyish and disgusting, slapping each other on the back congratulating each other after.
