Neighborhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

As soon as you enter this place the overwhelmed delicious smell of chocolate hits you. It's a small shop and it's difficult to decide who to get. Their hot chocolate is lovely. As are the truffles. The staff are very knowledgeable if you are extremely stuck.

i read all about Paul A young before going and had high expectations.
the shop is really cute, old style filled with all kind of good chocolaty stuff.
the lady was so nice, she spent like 20 mins with me just answering my questions, chatting with me and helping me pick my selection.
she was very cautions regarding the instructions and the packaging an storage, and shame i couldn't take back with me the specialty items due to there short shelve life.
was a great experience, would have been nice if they offered me something to try :)

The Royal Exchange branch in the City near Bank tube is a wonderful little shop. The free tasters are forthcoming and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable.
I adore very good quality, interesting and unique chocolate, and seeing as I work by the City branch and live near their Soho (Wardour Street) branch, I find myself in Paul A. Young very often!
I take all visitors to London here to sample and they always come away having bought some delicious and wholly original chocolate. A must for London!

We got a history lesson before buying and it was most informative. Lovely displays of chocolates. I personally had an ice cream which was superb. Situated close to the Bank Of England and opposite The Royal Bank of Scotland. No, you will not need a mortgage but having a sweet tooth is a positive advantage. Go and explore and enjoy the experience.

I come into this shop or one of the others occasionally. Sometimes I buy chocolates as gifts but for myself I always go for the salted caramel pecan brownies which are fantastic and not too expensive. Always a winner as small gifts but they only have a short shelf life in the unlikely event they will not be eaten straight away!

I have been into this shop many times over the years as well as their one in Islington. Their chocolates are extremely expensive but very good. I have bought boxes of them as gifts but the one question am always asked is where is the index of flavours which these guys do not produce. Their ice cream is not so good in my opinion. My favourite product however which I bought when I came in recently was one of their brownies - these are the very best and not too pricey!

Business
The chocolates are insanely expensive but very good, and I have been going to this shop maybe once every couple of weeks over the past 5 years. Popped in today to get an icecream with 2 colleagues, and as both sales assistants were busy, I helped myself to the chocolate topping as I know it is included in the price. A member of staff suddenly appeared and snapped 'Next time, ask!' Both of my colleagues then commented on the tone of voice and rudeness. Poor service, especially bearing in mind an icecream costs 4.50. We were served by a red-haired gentleman with glasses
