Top literally and figuratively. Do NOT miss going to the loo. Pre book so as to miss the queues and allow at least an hour. Really wonderful experience and staff sublime

Absolutely worth it!! A must see....we popped in for a cocktail and waited around long enough to get the coveted window table. We took so many photos of the view. Would do it again every time we are in London...

Amazing views! Absolutely recommend this place! The bar and cocktails were excellent a bit on the pricey side but where else could you see views of London like this!

We went up to the highest level. It was raining and very windy. Great night view, enjoy the time up there. Plus there was free Wi-Fi, my boys love it.

Attended a Silent Disco here and it was a blast. Cannot beat the view!! Definitely worth a visit when you are in town.

The reason for the visit was a family celebration, and the meal was excellent, the staff attentive and entertaining, so the unfortunate weather was of no consequence

Breathtaking view from the 73rd floor of the skyscraper. Expensive ticket but we used the 2for1 offer of Day out tour and the 32€ were fair enough. We preffered Shard than London eye and we do not regret it. At 10am wasn't crowded and we...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

For such an important moment in your life you don't want it cluttered by dozens of tourists. So go early or late and you may find a quiet corner. I suggest you confide in one of the stewards , arm him or her with a camera... More

There is only a bar on top but the lobby has a little shop that sells a variety of things. The area around the Shard has many more shops and restaurants so I am confident you can find something you like if you look around... More

Getting View from the Shard tickets with the London Pass (1 Replies)
I have purchased the London Pass. It includes free entry to The View from the Shard. I would like to book the tickets in advance so I can get my preferred entry date and time. Since you "activate" the London Pass when you use it for the first time, I understand why I cannot use it online to reserve the tickets. But, I am wondering if, once we arrive in London, will I be able to stop at the Shard and "buy" tickets for a later date? Thanks!!

I can't help you exactly with your query, anabelle98, because when we were there at the end of April, we went to the desk to ask how long the wait was, and it was zero. We just went straight up, at about 3pm. Maybe, pop in sometime when you think you'd go up (but have a second plan if you can't go in), and take it from there. Book for another time if you can't get in. Hope this helps a bit. BTW, the LP was happily taken everywhere we went. A few reviews have said it was rudely received, but...More

The View from The Shard? (3 Replies)
I will be visiting London for the weekend at the end of September with the DH. One of our to-do lists is to visit The Shard. We are also planning to have lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants. If we were to make reservations at one of the restaurants, does this allow us free access to the viewing platforms on floor 72? or would we be required to pay another £25 on top for this privilege? If turns out that we would indeed have to pay an additional £25 to access the viewing...More

I've been to the Shard and in my opinion it is not worth £25. You won't get free entry to the viewing platforms with your dinner (as far as I know but call in advance to check). Oblix has poor reviews, Hutong has very good ones. You'd get the same experience in the restaurants. The view is great but you'd get just as good an experience at the London Eye or, if you want to eat/drink at Tower 42, or Duck and Waffle/ Sushi Samba at the Heron Tower (all high-dining experiences).

Is it better to do this attraction in the daytime or nighttime? Or sunset? We are coming in June.
