You walk in to find yourself in an over crowded dingy room, where the staff don't really seem to be sure of what's going on. We were on a package deal that came with food, and despite having to order before hand, you then have to order it again when you arrive-with no guarantee that what you ordered is available.
The beer, despite being around £5 a glass was warm and the glasses we got given with our jug of pimms were dirty and also warm.
The burger bun was blackened and the burger dry. It was meant to come with bbq sauce, but although there seemed to be some kind of sauce on the burger, it was not enough to make the burger any less dry or flavoursome.
The music was cranked up and made conversation very difficult-there was no need for it to be so loud!
Despite all this, the comedy made the trip to London worth while with three very good acts.

Went to Jongleaurs after being given a voucher for a comedy night here with main meal included as a Christmas present. Venue is above a Sports bar on Haymarket but that didn't bother us at all. You are most likely, unless you are part of a large group, to be sharing a table with others, so this is not a place to go for romance! First strange thing is that we were sent menus beforehand and told that if we pre-ordered they would be able to guarantee we got the food we wanted, as they often ran out of the popular stuff, so we did. When we got there we saw that many of the items on the pre-order menu do not appear on the menu given to you if you do not pre-order, so if you want a bigger choice, order from the pre-order menu. Otherwise you are going to be left with a burger or salad realistically. However, even though we did pre-order over 3 weeks before and were told by confirmation email that as a result we would definitely get what we requested, on the night I was told I could not have my veggie burger as they had sold out! Not good at all on a mostly meat menu. Alternative suggestion given was a plain salad - not exactly what I was looking for. The meals themselves were pretty poor. Think burger and oven chips affair - and all overcooked to within an inch of their lives. Also everyone had a problem with the beer - it was totally flat and had a cloudyness which would not disappear. Several pints had to be returned, but in none of them was there even one bubble. Shame, especially at £5 a pint! However, apart from the compare, the comedians were all of good quality, it's just a shame the venue isn't providing the same entertainment.

The doors open 2 hours before the perfomances start and the seats are pre allocated. We arrived as soon as doors opened as the weather was poor and we had been walking all day. We were ticked off the list by the manager and shown to our seats by one of the staff, which were ok. My partner went to the bar and there were only 5 or 6 other couples in the venue and none of them were at the bar yet my partner was waiting absolutely ages to be served (one of the bar staff barely spoke or understood English and one of them was so slow it was unbelievable). Next I went to the bar and there were 5 staff behind the bar and 3 customers including me and I had to wait at least 10 minutes until the manager (who was ticking people off as they arrived very close to the bar, asked the man next to me if he had been served yet, he (and I) said no so he told one of the staff to assist. The girl asked me what I wanted and then continued to serve the first man she was still serving. After about 4 minutes she came back and asked again what I wanted. At this point she let me taste all of their wines which was very kind and I settled on one out of the 4. The next drink fiasco was my partner's turn- he asked for a zinfandel and was given a different rose which was awful. I went to the manager and asked for a replacement and the correct size- you need a large to sustain you through the endless waiting - and he got another girl to get it immediately (sort of) He apologised and said they were short staffed- now if there were only 1,2 or 3 I could understand but there seemed ample - just a very inefficient couple doing the bar making evrything slow. We ordered a burger and chips to share but after asking how he wanted the burger (medium) it arrived quite rare.We really could not be bothered to complain after everything. Now after all this the comedy was not bad and we had one of our tickets free as you get a free birthday ticket BUT next time we will go back to the comedy store- better seating, better bar staff, better layout- sorry Jongleurs.

Having booked this due to a special offer in Timeout, then reading some terrible reviews I was a little worried what it was going to be like, but i was pleasantly surprised. The comedians were excellent, especially the compere and the headline act, worth the money alone. As with all comedy shows, if you are easily offended, just don't go!!
This place is situated above the 'sports bar' on Haymarket so not easy to find initially, but a fair size venue, although a little packed in, it is no different to any other comedy venue i've ever been too. There were only 3 staff serving the masses, so it was a little slow, but mostly very pleasant and even though a mistake was made with our order a full apology came and no charge for the missing item, so all in all very good. The food is very generous in portion and not too bad. You don't expect too much when at this type of place, so again we were surprised it was more than edible, everyone else had burger and chips and enjoyed it and I had a salad, which was good and huge! The desert was a set cheesecake with a choice of flavours and this was a real cheesecake too, not just sweet and plastic tasting. The bar staff were pleasant, although again overworked and so it took some time, but I do believe they all were going as fast as they could and its the management that need to employ more staff. There was no-one doing nothing as you sometimes find in other places.
I have been to the Jongluers in Camden too, although a number of years ago, but i found this to be just as good and the location is obviously extremely handy for anyone in central london or visitors getting trains and coaches. The show finishes in time for people to get the last train/coach out of london so that's worth mentioning. Although there is music that goes on until late if you want to dance the night away.

My wife and I visited the comedy venue on a Friday night and had an enjoyable evening. The food served is burgers and chips style but very nice and served quickly by the friendly staff.
There were four acts each having about a 30 minute slot. The resident compare who introduced the acts was really funny and got the crowd worked up well.
The decor is a little dated but didn't detract at all from the performances as the lights are dimmed.
The only let down was the layout of the venue, which is clearly not designed as a theatre (some of the audience were almost sat behind the makeshift stage area). The night we visited we felt that the tables were too close together making it a little clostraphobic.
If your in the area and fancy a laugh with decent enough bar food then you could do worse.

I like comedy. I like jongleurs normally and the comedians on the night were not bad. The venue however is just too shabby for words. Where to start? Think your local social club c1970 with terrible acoustic (great to hear the football from downstairs), shabby carpets, bad chairs, smelly toilets do I have to go on? Just a very poor experience. Jongleurs should be ashamed to associate their name with this place and advertise it on their web site. I am amazed that good comedians agree to turn up here.
