The cable car which runs from a point near Royal Victoria Dock to a point near the O2 on the North Greenwich peninsula is only one of two high wire acts in the area, the other being the wire which carried waterboarders over obstacles in the Royal Victoria Dock itself. But the best views are from the cable car as it rises high over the river to reveal how it wanders through two U-bends to reach the twin towers and baroque symmetry of Wren’s Royal Naval College in Greenwich with the dome of the Royal Observatory on what is reduced from the air to a mere hillock just behind. Some good views of the Olympic Park and the Trinity Wharf artistic commune adjacent to the river itself. A commentary on video accompanied reminiscing about the 2012 Olympics but the views of the here and now rightly predominate. …

This is a great way to take in the views. At a cost of a tube journey it is value for money. No need to pre book as you can just swipe you oyster or bank card.

We had been to the Thames Barrier Park as you can read in my previous review, and we had made it to the Royal Docks docking station. You can use Oystercard or Bank card, and the flight begins, your capsule takes you over the Thames, and the wonderful views you get is breathtaking,you phone camera will be out for the whole journey see below my pictures of my flight. You finally descend down to the Greenwich Peninsula docking station for the 02. So in summary take this flight anytime of the day or night, it’s your duty to but it’s not free. …
