About
Central Hall Westminster (CHW) is a striking Grade II* listed building and an iconic feature of the London skyline. The venue is architecturally and historically significant, containing the largest self-supporting domed ceiling in Europe, an ornate staircase that emulates the staircase within the Paris Opera House and a magnificent VIP balcony overlooking Westminster Abbey. A purpose-built meeting place since 1912, CHW is central London’s largest conferencing and events venue. Today, over 800 events take place within the building including concerts, television broadcasts, conferences, meetings and graduation ceremonies. Hosting events is integral to CHW’s identity, having originally been used as a public meeting space for the Methodist Church. There are 25 varied rooms and spaces for events of all sizes from the smallest meeting rooms to the magnificent Great Hall with the capacity of over 2,000.

If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.

Went to see a Hans Zimmer Candlelight Concert at this venue. The musicians were great, the staff were friendly, and the venue was beautiful. Unfortunately the place was very hot, like sitting in a greenhouse. And an ill-mannered minority of the audience were on their phones throughout the entire performance, checking messages, filming videos, and taking pictures. I found the flashing screens incredibly distracting. This was despite an announcement at the beginning, asking people to only film and photograph the last tune. There were not enough ushers to enforce this. Wouldn't go again.

We "stumbled" across this beautiful building by accident - what an exciting find.
from the moment we entered the Methodist Hall we were made very welcome, given a guided tour of the complete Hall with the added attraction of being able to view from the roof-tops.
The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is well prepared, clean and "tasty".
Toilet facilities are excellent.
The tour is free and we do need to say that our guide was so kind, polite and knowledgable.
We learnt a lot.
Would HIGHLY recommend a visit to everyone.
Will return to taste more of their restaurant food.
Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

Modesty can be taken to extremes at times. Mediocre food, mediocre service that bordered on surliness. We had expected some degree of good humour or even cheerfulness. Not on the day we visited - cafe staff clearly got out of bed on the wrong side. An experience to be forgotten and not repeated........

this may be most sought after building in uk.income comes from media reporting i.e. on abbey events etc.
not a good place for your special occasion as it could be ruined by rude events staff or poor caterers called kudos.small food portions overpriced and no knowledge of hospitality using agency staff etc. language can be barrier as no knowledge of tea.
the security staff despite having the best technology can be very predudice rude and offensively officious. called goldring bluecoats.
not recommended for those people disabled or elderly as they can be predudice and not provide legal facility.
you may not get very good welcome and after 15 years the executive still do not respond to complaint.
the chairman is a methodist minister who is very misled.the m.d .no longer seems to care.
past church ministers have been antagonistic to church and hospitality clients in restaurant room hire and church event.
poor value for money.
company relies on its location for business.
perhaps new church leaders will bring about a change showing jesus love.todate little evidence as same complaints are recurrent.
one can pray for a miracle and less predudice to christians and all.
it would be nice to think this church measured success in caring hospitality and not revenue.
the revenue certainly not ethicaly obtained.
even pro abortion rallies have been known.

better known as Central Hall Westminster, this Methodist church dates from the beginning of the 19th century, a beautiful building that is best appreciated at night!

Entering the reception area we find the Chapel on the left side and Business Centre, Historoc Roll at right side of the building.Above the Historic Roll are offices of the conference centre. This is a grade 2 listed building located near Westminister Abbey & Parliament House.Since we were on Open House tour, some parts were not accessible.First level entrance has enthralling marble walls, ornamental metal works, limestone floor. The Great Hall has a dome which is made of a single piece of concrete structure and it is one of the largest in the world. There is a historic organ dated back to 1912.The Hall has the capacity of to seat 2000 worshiper in cantilever balconies. The grand staircase leads to the upper entrance hall There is a Cafe & Book & gift shop by the Historic Roll,

This building is magnificent--from the exterior. Inside is rather plain once you get past the grand entry. Tours are individual and you'll have to wait in the lobby until a guide is available, the security guards are rather strict about this. However, the tour is very informative and the guide was just wonderful. He took out out on one of the upper balconies for an amazing view of Westminster Abbey and the surrounding area. The history of the Methodist Church and how the building came to be was also quite interesting. The drawback was the time required for waiting to get a tour and the tour itself was quite long, there's a lot to see in London, this would not be high on my list.

Really impressive building that serves as a Methodist church, a conference center, an office building and even as an art gallery. It was built in the early 19th century and often serves as a public space for various political gatherings and events.

The setting of this venue is quite amazing, 100 metres from Parliament Square, really fantastic architecture and walking distance to so many other amazing landmarks. The inside of the hall is great, lots of breakout rooms for workshops and the central grand hall itself is amazing. Really good venue, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great time.
