The area
Address
Neighborhood: Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.

    18th birthday with a view
We had a fantastic climb over the O2. It was a great way to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday. We went for the champagne option which just made the photos that much better. A special thanks to our guides Debbie and Max who we so helpful and informative throughout the day. They also know to to take some great photos. Thanks Tony & Vanessa

    Fantastic!!
What a great experience!! A birthday treat for our daughter and we all had a great time! The staff are delightful and very professional, the equipment and safety is fantastic, the views are amazing and it is well worth it. Brilliant despite the drizzle! Nice to enjoy a glass of champagne at the summit.

    Fun filled day out!
This was the perfect day out for me and my partner. Great views from the top of the o2 and there was a country show on so you even got the music while climbing. The staff are super friendly and look after you making sure you know all the rules to stay safe. Max made the experience even more memorable with his enthusiasm! He also took photos for everyone at the top so no one missed out on capturing this day!

Twilight climb - Amazing a must do.
Myself and daughter done the O2 twilight climb, was absolutely fantastic. The views all were beautiful at night. The staff were all lovely, were given a jacket to wear, the harness and shoes if needed. Chesney who lead us all was so knowledgeable and made sure everyone was safe, comfortable and doing ok through the whole experience A*** Would highly recommend doing this climb - if you have O2 priority go on to app and you can get a code to get 20% off !! Thanks to O2 climb team for this great memory! FYI - We then caught the Uber boat back from the O2 to the London eye and saw London lit up along the Thames .. the tower bridge look beautiful lit up.

    Totally unique. A must do!
What a fantastic LDN attraction!! Something totally different and unique and really reasonably priced (we used an o2 priority code for 20% off too). The climb was a little steep at times, especially on the way down in the rain, but we felt perfect safe at all times and in good have with Jonny our guide. Champagne at the top was a nice reward for the climb, where we had time for pictures and had the landscape explained to us with some great facts. Perfect for all the family and would definitely recommend!

    Up and over we go
Booked as a group experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide Karl was friendly and informative, especially when it came to spotting the sights in the 360 on the viewing platform. Possibly slightly overcooked the price, but enjoyed nonetheless.

    Great experience up the O2!
Brilliant experience! Three best bits: lovely Theo, our guide - friendly, knowledgeable and great sense of humour; the views from the top - London's skyline changes every time I look up and to see it from the top of the O2 is so interesting; and finally - the sense of achievement is huge! (And the sun came out for us!). You need a short / thigh length weatherproof jacket with hood, gloves and walking boots because of our wonderfully unpredictable weather. Gloves can be purchased (so remember to take your own). Jackets and walking boots are provided for free. You'll also be asked to wear a harness and safety hook which is easy to use. Our family group ranged in age from 10 to 61 and we all had a great experience.

    A fantastic experience!
We completed the climb this past weekend, and had an amazing experience. We would thoroughly recommend it to add to your list when visiting London. Our guides, Robyn and Beanie (apologize for the spelling!) were amazing and very knowledgeable and safety aware. We decided to have the celebration package so enjoyed a glass of champagne on the roof, which was definitely a reward for completing the climb! Great views of London from the top too!

    Fantastic experience
We had a fantastic experience up at the O2. The climb was not as difficult as imagined (Mum and teen) and felt very safe and well managed. Views were fabulous, as was our guide, Karl, who was very engaging and put everyone at ease! Would highly recommend!

    Definitely worth booking
Went for my son’s birthday and had an excellent experience. The booking-in team were great but top marks must go to our guide Johnny. He was friendly, knowledgeable, pointed out landmarks at the top and gave little bits of information we would not have known otherwise. Fortunately the weather was good so we had a great view and lots of photo opportunities before climbing down. Jackets and walking shoes are provided to anyone who needs them, as are protective gloves. Whilst you are asked to wait to put on your harness together, not everyone followed this simple instruction and put them on wrong - Johnny was more patient than I would have been!! Have recommended the climb to work colleagues and two have already booked for their families too. Thanks for a great morning!

An excellent day out. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something different on a day out in London. Real value for money.
We are a famly of 7 with 'kids' from 14 to 18 years of age. Everyone had a great time.
We were met by two great ambassadors to the business at their reception area. Friendly, informative and hospitable. Our climbing partner, Wendy, was engaging from start to finish and really gave across the sense that she not only enjoys her job but also the people she meets every day.
We were given plenty of time at the viewing platform. The experience moved at our pace and we never felt rushed.
A really greast team, great experience and fab day out!

My friend took my 2 Grandsons Reg 8 and Jim 9 on the 'over the o2 walk'. Despite being told that suits were being provided even in COVID they werent but we brought splash jackets for them as it was raining.
A lady called Fran took the group and my eldest Grandson was a bit nervouse and Fran was supportive the whole time.
She was very informative and a happy person who stayed with him to encourage him.

We have wanted to do this for ages and we finally booked the tickets via O2 Priority app, i recommend booking this way as you get a discount.

It was like walking on a huge trampoline. We managed to get all the seasons in 90 mins from Sun, wind, rain and everything in between .

We were provided with shoes and coat and a secure box to keep our belongings in.

The guid was personable, friendly and supportive.

The views on the climb, at the top and the decent were breathtaking. When you get to the top you can take your phone out and get your own pictures.

We went on the Sunset Walk and our guide Linda did a wonderful job in making us feel safe and entertained during the duration of the walk. She was vety knowledgeable about the surrounding sites that she pointed out on the way up/down, which without we wouldn't have spotted! Throughout the visit, there was plenty of social distancing measures put in place, and regular points to sanitise your hands. The groups were also reduced to 10 people which made the experience that bit more special!

My mother in law had given our kids Up at the O2 vouchers for Christmas, but although they had officially run out in September, given the lockdown etc, my wife had no difficulty in extending them. We went up on a blustery, cloudy late afternoon but it was still a lot of fun. You've got to be reasonably fit to climb up, but it's not a major exertion. The views are impressive, not least when trying to work out your bearings as the O2 sits on a bend in the river! It's not massively high, so you don't get the views you get from the London Eye but its nice to feel on top of a small bit of the world. The woman who was our guide was very friendly and helpful, but also suitably focused on safety. Overall, a great activity, only 20 minutes from the centre of town, and with the added bonus of being able to hit the outlet stores in the O2 afterwards :-)

A lovely sunny Sunday at the o 2.Yes it's not the Sydney harbour bridge, but never the less a welcome, and unusual addition to London's potential family and friends experience day out ! Good value for money, excellent clear pre climb brief, safety and operation of harness clear and strait forward. The climb itself is pretty easy, and only moderatly scary! Reaching the summit takes barely 20 mins but is worth it.Only the churlish would deny a magnificent view of a much changed ,and exciting, new East end of our glorious capital. The tour guide Vega was kind, informative and assuring to climbers like me that harbour a fear of heights! Well done team up at the o 2,we wil be back

We did this on a warm clear Saturday morning in September. First think to note it is best to book on line in advance. Climbs are reduced numbers due to Covid and on our Saturday totally sold out . Check in fast and easy and you are introduced to instructor who was Matt who was fab start to finish.

You are shown how to climb in to harness and given shoes to climb up. Photos taken as you start and then you get to climb up it is steep at start but you are hooked on no pressure to rush and as long as you are reasonably fit should not be a problem.

It then flattens out as you get near top . From top views are amazing of London you can have a glass of champagne for £7 and time to take photos . You then climb down the other side and it is steep coming down . Shop at end photos not bad price as was merchandise.

Matt was good fun very knowledgeable and took any questions great instructor.

My son and I climbed the O2 as part of his 18th birthday celebrations.
We arrived an hour ahead of schedule and were accommodated on the earlier walk.
Safety briefing was informative, equipment supplied and good facilities (loos and personal possession storage)
Keelan was our guide and he was fun, chatty and made the whole experience very enjoyable.
Hard climb for the first section but if you can climb a few flights of stairs then easy enough!
Coming down was slightly more difficult because of your momentum and the steepness.
All harnessed on so felt very safe.
Loads of time at the top for photos and enjoying the views.
Would definitely recommend.

Went on a Backstage Tour with my teenage son to celebrate his GCSE results.Tour Guide was a young lady by the name of Ellie. Very knowledgeable and luckily we had some characters in our group at 2.30pm.The tour overrun was not rushed and well worth the experience. Got to take in and absorb the whole experience.Lots of signed photos, secret room, and literally backstage rooms of amazing decor.Be aware no photos allowed in the fab room but their is a lot of photo opportunities.Throughout the tour we had a lot of laughs. Probably about ten people in our group and rules for social distancing and wearing of masks was observed. We were allowed to remove masks where space allowed for photo opportunities of course. At the end of the tour one is allowed to make use of the suite to purchase drinks and chill.A tour lanyard is given at the start free of charge as a keepsake and also we purchased a lovely cool Bandana as in picture which has multiple ways for wearing for £6.00. Hubby saw photos was jealous of this golden opportunity so have booked again for hubby to experience and my son to return a second time! Hopefully he has Ellie also a talented drummer again!

We had a terrific time, a birthday treat. Slick, safe and friendly operation, and some positive adaptations for the current situation which didn't detract from the experience at all. Our guide up and over the roof was great, encouraging the kids (two nine year olds) and helpfully pointing out all the things to see along the way. You can get your camera out at the summit, but the photo they take of you at the start is a great souvenir of the climb (and you get it digitally too). Exhilarating fun!
