I was gifted a dim sum and bao course for Christmas and attended with my brother. We worked in pairs under the expert guidance of Ryan our tutor. The air conditioning was very much appreciated on a roasting 30+ degree day in the summer. The environment was clean and welcoming, and work stations set up so everyone could see each other and made for a friendly experience. The course was well organised and well timed so that we had time to cook a range of items and eat them afterward. There was a good amount of food and I managed to take a little home too. My feet did ache a bit at the end of the day having travelled from outside London on public transport and standing for 3 hours in the kitchen, so wear comfortable shoes. Easy to get to on public transport, just a short walk from the tube. I had a great day and would love to come back.

brilliant day, I learned so much about how simple, cooking really tasty Chinese food was .
Really well run, really informative and really tasty recipes.
I will definitely come back for other courses.
The only improvement I would make is to have the chef cooking in front of us , not with their back to us, so we can see what’s going on , or perhaps have an overhead camera showing what’s cooking, on a tv screen that all the participants can see. Other than that - fabulous .

I did the tour of Chinatown followed by the wok skills cookery class. It was brilliant! The tour was so informative and included LOADS of yummy food stops! Then the class was great. Fun but also learned a lot. Highly recommend.

My son and I had a wonderful three hours together learning to cook Japanese food - Katsu Curry, Gyoza and Broccoli Gomaae.

However the course was not as good as I hoped it would be - we paid £99.00 each for the experience but had to cook together - I thought we would cook separately.

It was fine though as there was definitely enough food to share and enjoy at the end.

I just felt that the host could have been a bit more charismatic - he was fine but just fine.

I would recommend it as a day out though - they just need to up their game a little bit.

Good thing - they had take out pots so we could take our left overs home. So take a carrier bag with you x

Attended the full day introduction to Dim Sum which was excellent. Experienced and patient tutor Chef Cher made the day informative and fun and our group all came away excited to practice the recipes at home.
Superb facilities and drinks provided throughout the day. Discount off The School of Wok merchandise following the class and the recipe sheet sent through via e-mail the day after really helped to make the day a memorable experience.
This was our second full day experience and we are booking another one today to have something to look forward to!

I had been trying to cook a decent Chinese meal at home - learning from books mainly. My partner bought me the 3 hour wok lesson for my birthday. And what a great present it was too!
I was greeted by the lovely Cher (sorry if spelt incorrectly). He proved to be an excellent teacher - both professional and friendly. I won't go into the details of the 3 hours, but I will say that I learnt so much, and was able to produce three delicious meals on the day. After the lesson, I recreated them at home - and to my great delight, they were delicious! Plus, I learnt all about the wok - choosing one and 'seasoning' it, plus many other great pieces of advice.
So, if you are interested in Asian cookery, or want to gave a nice present to someone who is, then I wholeheartedly recommend School of Wok. I hope to go back sometime in the future.

Spent three wonderful hours doing the ‘Introduction to South East Asian Cuisine’ class. I was amazed that I could produce such delicious tasting food! Our tutor Cher was brilliant: so knowledgeable, gave really clear instructions and kept the class fun.

Booked on to the Chinese takeaway course as a gift and arrived with little in the way of pre-conceived expectations. Left three hours later having had a really great time, eaten some lovely food and having chatted to some very nice people. We prepped everything, made the sauces and garnishes, then cooked it all ourselves. Our instructor Sherry was great and made a really light hearted atmosphere. Recommend it and will be going back for more!

We chose School of Wok for our recent team building event and it certainly didn't disappoint. Pre-event communications from Hannah were great and our host on the day, a very well-trained Thai chef (i forget her name) made the afternoon a joy, and she managed to keep our rowdy group of 20 under control while we prepared and cooked our dishes.

We opted for the Japanese menu of Gyoza, Yaki Udon Noodles and Terriyaki Chicken. The tuition was spot on, so there were no sliced off fingers and there was edible food for us all to enjoy at the end, washed down by a few complimentary alcoholic beverages.

If you're looking for an inclusive team-building event that appeals to everyone that's fun and entertaining, try this - you won't be disappointed. We will definitely come back again.
