The area
Neighborhood: Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Over priced 'street food'

I'm sure some of the stalls are selling their produce (one veg stall and a couple of bakers) but the "market" is not a market.

Where is the fresh produce
Sep 2018 • Solo
I cannot understand why they have the temerity to describe themselves as a Farmers Market. I wheeled my 96 year old there last Thursday as she was looking forward to buy some fresh produce but saw only food stalls; on top of all that if she had wanted to have a look it would have been very hard as there didn't seem to be any way up except by stairs.
There is a similar in Brunswick Centre on a Saturday which is much more amenable and accessible.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review. Firstly, our website lists all the stalls who attend each market. There is fresh produce; Wild country organics fresh vegetables, salads, and herbs. Brambletye Farm juice, vegetables, eggs, and more. Five Ways Fruit Farm with apples, plums and more. There is also butter, raw milk, bread, cakes. Our managers will always help anyone who needs access to the top level of the market. How many fresh produce stalls are at Brunswick Centre? The current layout can be confusing whilst the college has building works but all the above named stalls are there. https://www.lfm.org.uk/markets/bloomsbury/ Bloomsbury like our other university markets developed organically into more of a lunch market due to local demand but we always have some primary produce. Our weekend markets are around 80% primary produce.

There are too many places to choose from, you'll need takeaway containers for later. Donuts, paella, bao, South Asian food, desserts, crepes, plus fresh produce. Probably not as much fresh produce as earlier in the year, but I've never seen a market in California offer shiso leaves so that was a treat. Vegan options available.

Thanks for the lovely review. Wild Country Organics bring lots of unusual items! It's good to see shiso leaves isn't it.

Beware Glossy Websites
Aug 2018 • Family
We found this market through the London Farmers Market website. We decided to go due to the high volume of pictures and variety of produce shown to be available. The site was definitely misleading. There were a total of 7 stalls, 5 of which were selling fast food, albeit artisan fast food.

This is not what a farmers market is. A good farmers market should contain produce on offer from a variety of growers and producers. Not food stalls claiming to use organic or locally grown produce. even the fruit and veg stall was a major disappointment with most of their produce bought in from specialist wholesalers.

Very disappointed :-(

We're really puzzled by your review. We have at least 20 stalls at Bloomsbury. Maybe it's possible that because of the building works you didn't find the whole market? It's clear from our website that this is mostly a lunch market. The stalls use local ingredients, ingredients from their own farms. As for saying that the farm stalls buy in from wholesalers, that's quite a claim which we assume you can back up? If you're saying that Wild Country Organics farm, Brambletye Fruit Farm, Fiveways Fruit Farm are buying in please contact us directly. Our weekend markets are around 80% primary produce.

Lovely little farmers market in the grounds of a church. Good choice of food to take home or lunch on. Prices are good at most of the stalls. Mix of bakery ,meat and veggie.

Fresh Food
Aug 2016 • Couples
Every Thursday, this market starts at 9am and remains open till 2pm. It is very near to Gordan square park, so visitors buy food from this market and take it to the park. Some like to sit on many benches available in the market. Fresh vegetables and fruits are sold here which comes straight from the farm. For Lunch, From south Indian dosas to doughnuts and pasta to pizza don't miss this option.

Street food at its best
Apr 2017 • Family
This market opens every Thursday from 9 am - 2 pm. It is street food at its best, cheap, great variety and taste fresh and good. In addition to cooked meals, farm produce like vegetables and fruits in season as well as groceries are on sale here.

Great for an affordable lunch
Apr 2017 • Solo
There are some great stalls here. I go here from the college for lunch. The meals are around £6, great portions and tasty. For cake, get yourself to the cakehole. The guy there has a great sense of humour. I made the mistake of turning up to buy a brownie with a can of coke zero and was deservedly rinsed for it. 10/10. The place with the chicken stew/ thai curry/ sausage casserole is great. Don't miss out on the Italian with the huge queue. The stall at the end with the kedgeree and paella is massively under-rated. So too is the new guy with the fish curry/chowder. All in all fantastic market.
