Neighborhood: Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.

Chocoholics dream... Fun with chocolate, would recommend
Attended the original chocolate workshop as a present for my sisters birthday. Was so much fun! Emily (supported by Rosie in the kitchen) was knowledgeable and engaging. Showed us how to make and decorate a chocolate slab and truffles (which you get to take home) For a chocoholic like us, this was heaven! Nice premises inside and although busy, plenty of chocolate to go round Would highly recommend

    Good fun!
Good fun making chocolate truffles and decorating them. The staff are lovely and enthusiastic- especially John who did the demonstrations for my session. The location was easy to find. Nice to take part in a fun activity, shared a table with some other people who were there and it was nice to socialise whilst having a task to do.

    Fabulous Family Friendly Workshop
My 11yr old son and I took part in a workshop yesterday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We are both keen bakers and love making truffles and other chocolate goodies, but we still learnt so much! Hannah and Tiffany did a superb job of hosting us. Hannah was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information and loads of interesting facts. The session was guided well, so it really doesn’t matter if you have no experience at all. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily recommend it to others.

    So much fun!!
I bought these tickets as a Mother’s Day gift a couple of years ago and finally got round to going! Was a super fun afternoon and would 100% go again. John was absolutely fantastic and made the entire experience! Delicious treats to take home and everyone who attended/hosted were so kind and lovely.

    Such a delicious experience
This was a really nice experience. I got a couple of tickets as a gift and decided to take my husband with me. And we both loved it. John is a very entertaining, knowledgeable chocolate maker. Through the workshop, he taught us how to make our very own chocolate bars and chocolate truffles. And they provide some bags and wraps to take your treats with you. The staff is really welcoming and nice. Would really recommend the experience!

    Good fun
Learnt the basics for shaping and decorating my own chocolate button and making truffles. We didn't make a slab as such and didn't use any moulds. We had to share bowls of milk and dark chocolate with the rest of the table (8 people in total) though we made the truffles in pairs. For this reason, you can't lick the spoons (which feels wrong but is definitely the right thing to do) BUT you can pour small dollops around your large cholocate button and wait for it to harden! ;) You also get another chance at the end to use of any unused chocolate. We had a few options to decorate with from a tray of ingredients for the table to share. There wasn’t a limit to how much we could use as we could ask for more if we wanted a up top. John was great at entertaining us whilst instructing us on what to do. The only suggestion I'd have it to have more sinks available for people to wash their hands. Santiser is helpful, but then you still need to touch the chocolate - and wash it off. At the very end, you can gift bag up your goodies! I’ve learnt enough of the basics to keep trying and up my game at home. Thanks for the intro!

    Great chocolate making workshop
We had a great time at the My Chocolate Workshop. It was well run and organised and the time just flew by. It was great to be able to create your own chocolate creations and sample a chocolate martini, as well as enjoying a glass of prosecco. This was a birthday present from my friend and I would highly recommend these workshops.

The lady presenting was brilliant, funny, approachable and engaging...that was the big plus. The room was too hot, little attempt was made to make it cooler, this could have been achieved by opening the front door and allowing air to circulate. Instead, the chocolate all melted and the event was more like messy play...what we ate was delicious. drinks were delicious.

The event only gets a 3, as it was billed at 3pm to 5.30pm and it started 10 mins late and ended 45 mins early for no reason. There is plenty that can be done with chocolate, the event isn't particularly cheap and it felt a little like it was cut short.

For those interested, you make a small slab (two table spoons) of chocolate and can decorate it. Ours didn't set. Then you make truffles (chocolate an cream) and decorate in chocolate and/or with toppings. Two drinks, one chocolate martini and glass of prosecco.

I personally wouldn't recommend it, as for under 2 hours it's not worth it. I would recommend the organisers consider adding something additional to the event, there is so much that could have been done...

My partner and I had a lovely day with MyChocolate UK doing an Easter special workshop! We were taught how to make a chocolate slab, as well as truffles that we could garnish with a variety of toppings. Everyone was friendly, the team was professional. One thing to know is you will likely be sharing the table with other attendees! I do recommend booking through Virgin Experience as opposed to their website, as you can get much better value there.

Enjoy, and bon appetit!

I was given a MyChocolate tour for my birthday but due to Covid it got cancelled and rebooked but then the tour wasn’t feasible with social distancing so I was offered an upgrade by Anna (who was very helpful) to the luxury chocolate workshop. I went with my boyfriend today and it was great! There was supposed to be four people but the other guests did not turn up so we basically had our own personal chocolate tutorial with brilliant John. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made it such fun! We learnt how to make chocolate martinis, a chocolate slab and chocolate truffles. Huge credit to John who still gave it 100% with awesome energy despite there being just two of us, answering our questions and teaching us his craft. We made and sampled some lovely chocolate and came home with our bags of goodies very happy. Really enjoyed the day and recommend it!! 😀

Had an amazing time making some beautiful chocolates - bought this on virgin experiences as a surprise for my girlfriend’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The host Brendan was fantastically energetic and funny, and the experience (which included making a chocolate martini, a massive chocolate button and a bag full of truffles) was both entertaining and informative. Getting to go home with the delicious fruits of our labour was an added bonus. Highly recommend.

The chocolate making class was so fun, exciting and delicious!
Yentha (may have spelled her name wrong) from Belgium, was really great at adapting to everyone's needs and leading the class. She was very funny and good at explaining!
We made choctails first which were very nice and then made truffles. The whole experience was just so great to try something new. At the end you felt as if you had achieved something; I would definitely do another workshop with my chocolate.

I have to say when I walked into the room it wasn’t what I expected. I expected little kitchen stations for us to work on but we were in a conference room at a hotel spread out on two large tables of 8 people. However we had a great time. We made a chocolate shape to start with and we were able to decorate this with the supplies provided. Then we were taught how to make Gnache and given a brief history. We were shown some down examples of truffles that we could make and then left to make our own using the Gnache we had just made. When finished making the truffles some more chocolate was given to us to make some chocolate buttons to finish off the practical part of our workshop. The history into the cocoa pods and beans was fascinating. Once everything was set we were supplied with packaging to make our truffles look even more fabulous. My friend and I had a great time and Elizabeth our chocolatier was very friendly and welcoming and she has a very clear love for everything chocolate.

Had a lovely time a the cocktail and chocolate making experience John was a very entertaining host and made the night. First we made cocktails then John demonstrated how to make chocolates and then we made our own and decorated had lots of fun and much laughter and we got to bring chocolates home. Would totally recommend if you are based in London or on outskirts I am from Wolverhampton so was a bit of a distance. It was a Virgin experience 60th Birthday gift from my daughter last May did find difficult to book as only available certain dates. However when I couldn’t attend in March due to train strike my Chocolate were most accommodating in allowing me to rebook when Virgin experiences were not . Thank you My chocolate for a wonderful experience and happy end to my 60th Birthday celebrations .

We had a great time at the chocolate experience and Nikola the host was accommodating. However I would say that the cost was far too high for the experience. It was £50 each and myself and my partner think that it should have been around the £25-30 mark. I think a welcome alcoholic drink would be a good improvement, or a recommendation to get a drink from the bar before starting. Also we did take home some good chocolates but not enough to justify the pricetag
