The area had changed over the years, but its till a great place to live with friendly people, OK pubs and restaurants.. I grew up on the Island and enjoyed being there and only wish i could move back into the good
old East end - full of normal people, unlike the insular backwater in Lincolnshire where I now Live and regret living in and hate the place.

Really bad
Dec 2018 • Business
Dry carpet style pizza, had a rancid oil smell. Very expensive, I’m so disappointed. I’m writing this review to warn off future customers so you don’t suffer as I have. I don’t mean to affect anyone’s business but it’s insulting to be served food of this low standard. Papa johns is really fresh in comparison.

Party venue
Oct 2018 • Family
I hired this venue for my 50th birthday party, was a pleasure to deal with Amy, who was knowledgeable and polite, I was able to access early to decorate, the finger buffet food was perfect and price competitive and all staff were friendly and professional, can highly recommend.

Ever changing

This is the area where the Thames bends south then back north. Canary Wharf is on the north end. Greenwich foot tunnel on the south. LOTS of diversity in this area from skyscrapers to a farm! Yes, check out MudChute.

A different taste of London

It’s a nice area to enjoy a walk by the river. It’s very quiet and enjoyable being there over the period of Autumn .

Financial hub
Apr 2017 • Family
This is an area in East End of London bounded on three sides by the meandering River Thames. It has gone from a working class area with a docking industry and maritime history to a business nerve centre. This financial hub which is now the home of modern London's business district has beneath it cozy homes, intimate spaces and the occasional boat. Most of the Isle of Dogs recalls a village on the banks of the Thames rather than a financial centre. It is now a place of thriving business, top-level jobs and an eclectic mix of accommodation choices

The Isle of Dogs is not JUST Canary Wharf
Jan 2017 • Friends
The majority of the reviews I have read here refer to Canary Wharf and not the entire Isle of Dogs. Yes, Canary Wharf is the Manhattan of London and contains the skyscrapers and the shopping centres but there is much more to the island that just the modern bits.

There are some great walks around the island. If you walk around the outside you see some fantastic views of The Thames, the O2, Greenwich and The site of the launch of Brunel's Great Eastern and The City. River life can be very interesting.

The foot tunnel to Greenwich is fascinating. Have a look on the Isle of Dogs side for the narrow bit of the tunnel. That's where it was repaired following bombing during WW2.

Walking around the inner docks, you can still see much of the machinery that was used when the Island was working docks.

And of course it wouldn't be the Isle of Dogs without mentioning Mudshute farm where there sheep, pigs, horses all within a stones throw of the skyscrapers.

Isle of Dogs is an incredible part of London. Whilst parts may be new, there are some very interesting historic areas as well. You could easily take a day out just to explore the Island.

Another side of London
Nov 2016 • Friends
This is a modern part of London where you can see a number of towers builded in one calm and peaceful part of London..
The towers connected together underground to form a nice and long shopping mall with varity of options..
Outside you can enjoy walking and dinning in the square or the canal walk or the park.

The Best Area to Live in East London
May 2016
The Isle of Dogs is an area in the East End of London that is bounded on three sides by one of the largest meanders in the River Thames.

The Isle of Dogs is situated some distance downriver from the City of London. The area was originally a sparsely populated marshland before its drainage and planting in the 13th century. A catastrophic breach in the riverside embankment occurred in 1488, resulting in the area returning to its original marshy condition. This was not reversed until Dutch engineers re-drained it in the 17th century.

One road led across the Marshes to an ancient ferry, at Ferry Road. There was rich grazing on the marsh, and cattle were killed for market in fields known as the Killing Fields, south of Poplar High Street.

The western side of the island was known as Marsh Wall, the district became known as Millwall with the building of the docks, and from the number of windmills constructed along the top of the flood defence.
