A lovely looking pub with great old world charm and a TV history as being the pub in the program Goodnight Sweetheart. The food is on the high side of pricing and unless is was because it was a basic meal did not look very appealing. Not all but a couple of the staff made you feel that they would rather you weren't there while getting things done which was a little off putting but all in all it was still a great place to go.

A pleasant meal in a British pub. Good location next to the flower markets. But it is just average food.

Four of us visited this pub on a busy Sunday lunchtime, with the bustling flower market on its doorstep. Lovely (and quieter) upstairs dining room. The food was fabulous, both the beef and the pork belly. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout. The drinks were good too. Well worth a visit although given the pub’s popularity it probably pays to pre-book or you could be disappointed.

As a measure of this pub, we stopped off in Colombia Rd because we were doing some photography in the area. The market had finished and the street was in chaos with the street cleaning squad doing their stuff so we went int the Oak for a swift pint and stayed for two (or so). Friendly place, good beer, couldn't think of a good enough reason to move on.
