An excellent night with some great drag acts. Mary Mac the local Drag Act was really very good particularly her version of Maniac. She must have been exhausted at the end. Will definitely be returning when next in London.

Went here to see the drag act "miss poppycock". Met up with friends there. This was a ticketed show which we just managed to get the last tickets available. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. Table service only which was fortunate for us as it was next to the bar and a good view of the stage. The act was fantastic and well worth seeing. The place was very clean and well set out with the covid rules in operation and adhered too.

Saw the Christmas Panto Pricked and it is amazing! Hilarious, talented performers, all the laughs and great venue. Wonderful staff, all social distancing and covid-safe measures followed. Support live theatre and have some holiday joy!

Re visited Royal Vauxhall Tavern for “Duckie” the worst amateur Drag hosted night I have seen in decades. A major fall from the great days of leading talented Uk Drag. duckie hosted at RVT by a self obsessed talentless host who believes she is leading trend. The two acts were like accidents from a bad A&E late Saturday night clear out . Despite RVT history it’s become this sad failing has been venue full of drunken lost Girls looking for their gay mate who is in toilets Drugging up. Sad reality Gay quality has moved on and left the desperate hanger on girls lost. RVT DONT BOTHER ITS TERRIBLE.

I have attended the Vauxhall tavern as a single gay man for a number of years. I have always found the doormen and bar staff to be a tad snooty, but nothing prepared me for the degree of disdain and disrespect that my female friends were exposed to when I took them here tonight. I had hoped that they would be accepted be as queer ladies expecting to experience a judgement free night out at the Vauxhall Tavern but instead they were treated with scorn and their music requests were mocked by the DJs and they were loudly dismissed as having poor taste. Neither of my female friends had been consuming alcohol prior to entering the tavern, which they paid £6 for the privilege of doing, and they were both lovely, kind and appropriate towards members of staff. Both of these women are well known within the commercial music industry and public policy in the UK and abroad and have influenced many policies which have improved the acceptance and day to day existence of my gay, queer, female and hereto normative acquaintances. I will not be attending this establishment again and will be urging my friends, family and anyone who is gay, queer or in any way cares about equality and respect not to do so either until management and employees can exhibit the values towards clients that are in keeping with the supposed ethos of promoting respect and equality.

Family
I attended the Royal Vauxhall Tavern with my wife Agatha and two children, Oresley and Kerry Katona. I was shocked to find that the food options were scarce, having to settle on Scampi flavoured potato snacks that Oresley found rather distasteful. We were informed by the front of House, who was wearing a delightful sparkly waist coat number and who bore striking similarities to Michael Portillo in his cabinet days, that we should delay our theatre reservations for a tongue in cheek act that was due to start shortly. Now both Agatha and I are open to a bit of jestful ribaldry every now and again but some of the words coming out of bejewelled dowager on the stage would have made even a docker blush. We had to leave before Orseley and his sister picked up any language that would jeopardise their entry to Harrow. The one good thing about the establishment were the attentive lavatory hands who were very keen to assist me, in some ways more intimately than I would have liked, imagine the shock when I went to congratulate the manager only to be told that they had no one in their employ who worked in the lavatories. Needless to say, I will not be bringing Agatha and Co back to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and if anyone spies me in the building again it will a trick of the light or I will be there on business and matters completely unrelated to meeting the kind lavatory hand again.

Rude staff in glasses at pride, unapproachable, in the arch - unfriendly, vindictive - bad vibe. Such a shame - regular to the venue but this put me off.

Me and my partner travelled from Docklands, I was really looking forward to visiting the Vauxhall Tavern and this was my first opportunity to visit. I used to be close friends with Saphire when he used to run the Wellington in Birmingham, he used to rave about the place. I left very disappointed after we were turned away on Wed 3rd Sept, we were told it was ticket only but there was no notice on the door and nothing on the website. I guess this is the kind of place where apparant strangers are not welcome, if you intend to travel any distance to get to it then don't waste your time and effort, go somewhere else instead.

Iusually go out to Soho on a Saturday night but this time my friendsand I decided to try Duckie (cabaret night at the RVT). The website. twitter, outside posters say they open at 9 which I find a waste on a Saturday night when there is not much around. Anyway, we waited 25 mins and the doors were still not open. There was a quite large number of people that left after 10 mins but we gave it a chance and left after 25 mins. Respect your customers and take matters a bit more seriously. Change your management and wish you all the best in the future.
