Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.

Last week I visited Claridge's Bar with 4 friends of mine and I would like to share my experience.
The elegant and kind host Matteo welcomed and escorted us to the bar where we have been given the possibility to choose between 2 spacious corner tables.
We had a couple of rounds and we tried some snacks. The menu has been recently renewed: it's more sophisticated and delicious, the duck croquettes and fried chicken definitely worth the try. One of my young friends received a great assistance to choose non alcoholic cocktails tailored to her taste.
We had a lot of fun certainly thanks to the brilliant staff: Giovanni, Tiago and Denis really looked after us throughout the whole evening.
After a while we moved to the Painter's Room, the newest addition to the hotel, where Melissa Maddalena and Jessica took great care of us.
The ambience at the Painter's is very different from Claridge's Bar: It's warm and bright but still an intimate space that offers an innovative selection of cocktails with splendid and modern design touches.
I highly recommend to reserve both the spots for the finest night out!!!

Looking back at my previous review of Claridge's bar in 2016, I noticed it was titled 'Perfect As Always'. And I am pleased to say, nothing's changed!
Well, actually, it has. There is now a host station by the entrance, and Dennis was on holiday, but otherwise it was as if time had stood still!

After a busy morning in town, we needed a very light lunch to see us through to our dinner reservation. My favourite roast beef sandwich is still on the menu and service is still excellent. The Claridge's bar is my little oasis of calm.

By far one of the best hotel bars in London. With the multitude of those in the UK this is definitely up to the standards. Being in hospitality long enough I can say the bar service is impeccable as well as drinks and the bar food - must try the croquettes!
Vibes are nice, the place is sparkling and the crowd is perfect. Definitely a place I’d come at anytime of the day for a drink and bites!

My wife and I had a lovely Afternoon Tea at Claridge's over the Christmas period so I thought it would be nice to book a table in the bar for some cocktails to celebrate Valentines Day. We arrived but did not know
where the bar was located. We entered the wonderful Fumoir, believing it to be the bar. However we were rapidly hustled out by a member of staff (we did notice reserved signs on the tables even though the web site says reservations are not available in the Fumoir). Subsequently we asked a member of staff and were shown to the Claridge's Bar. We were then shown to our table - not in the beautiful main bar but in an area to the side and rear, which was very dark, dingy and cramped. The cocktail menu was provided - very underwhelming and not one rum cocktail, which I found bizarre.. It was a stark contrast to the elaborate cocktail menu at the Savoy. We chose two cocktails as well as a bottle of water and these were delivered to our table. Distinctly average and not what i would expect of Claridge's. Unfortunately we had been put adjacent to a mirrored door which waiting staff were using continuously with trays of dirty glasses. It was the final straw so paid and left. I don't object to splashing out £22 for a cocktail (although £7.50 for a bottle of still water is far too expensive) when one is seated in beautiful surroundings, but i do object to being dumped in a dark and dingy side section to the bar. Later on that night we went to another cocktail bar in London which was far better. If I were ever to return to the Claridge's Bar (doubtful), it would be imperative that I specified wanting to be seated in the main bar . I felt as though I had genuinely rinsed of my money. Very very disappointing.

Warm welcome from the hostesses of the first on the right bar.

We asked for the popular bar they offered us terrace when we said we would like a drink for the experience to see the bar they offered us a table in the bar in a bad spot but that’s alright.

We were greeted after 5 min we ordered water and 2 Ramos Gin Fizz, water and nuts on the table after 10 min and drinks 15min.

Ramos gin fizz looked good but tasted awful, more like soda water and lemon, which is alright is hard cocktail to make but after calling the server to tell him to change it because he skipped the quality check, the answer was << I know the specs we do it like this >>. After we had a conflict in order to have the same drink remade for us.

Didn’t even had the courtesy to remove the service charge which was 5 £.

Went on Thursday. Wonderful atmosphere in town. Lovely staff, but the drinks were appalling. We had an Aperol Spritz. It was tiny, had no fizz and was undrinkable. They cost £20 each. It completely ruined what should have been a wonderful experience. We went to a local pub afterwards and had another one in a lovely big glass with plenty of fizz, for half the price. Complete waste of money. They need to sort out their mixologist. Also had one of the jubilee cocktails. Nice enough, but absolutely packed full of crushed ice, no alcohol in it and no drink at all and again was £20. Poorly mixed and poorly balanced. If anyone wants to go to this bar, make sure you tell them that you want longer drinks, bigger glasses and less ice.

Dear C3592OMjohns, Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Claridge's Bar. Whilst it was kind of you to mention the lovely staff you encountered on your visit, I was of course concerned to read your comments regarding the drinks you ordered. Please be assured I will be following up in full with our bar team. I would hate for this to be your lasting memory of Claridge's Bar and I would be grateful for the opportunity to investigate further. Should this be agreeable please feel free to reach out directly on ashorten@claridges.co.uk With best regards, Andrew Shorten Food and Beverage Manager

Meeting a business colleague for a drink at 6pm. Walked into the bar, which was mostly empty, and was told to get back to the front desk and wait. I waited for 5 mins to be told that my colleague hadn’t booked a table and therefore I could not come in. So asked if I could make a booking and was told they were full! They also checked the other bar and reported that this was full also even though it clearly wasn’t. So was told I could sit in reception but there was nowhere in the hotel to get a drink. So walked round the corner to Hush and had a nice glass of wine and met my colleague. What a ghastly place Claridges now is. The bar looks pretty average anyway so I have no idea why would anyone go there other than to take Instagram photos of themselves 😂

By far one of the best hotel bars in london. It was a pretty nice experience from begin to the end. The staff it was so welcoming and service and atmosphere excellent. if your aren’t sure about the drink you should be choose do not be worried ! the bar service will help you to choose the best option based of your favourite liquor. there is also and amazing selection of champagne, wine and whiskies if you fancy of it. Definitely it will become a mandatory stop to have a drink when I will be in the area.

Just off the Claridge’s lobby, this little jewel box of a bar is a perfect place to get a cocktail. Service is impeccable, decor is stunning but comfortable, and the cocktails are creative, well-made, and nicely served. I had a gorgeous delicious sake-citrus concoction.
