Tour
Mar 2020 • Friends
I have been on this tour before and me and my friend weren't disappointed this time,it was still very interesting and Alan the guide had different pieces of info that we hadn't heard before, again our guide was very friendly and helpful and we weren't rushed at all and there wasn't anything he didn't know, they obviously all do a great deal of homework lol,a throughly enjoyable time and wouldn't hesitate to take other friends and family along again and I mustn't forget the 2 young people who were there on the day to check us in,both very friendly and helpful so thankyou to you all from Ray and Emilie
only one very small complaint we didn't get a souvenir tea towel this time as Emilie is French and was looking forward to showing her family her souvenir on her next visit home
so we give 9/10 not quite full marks lol

brilliant tour
Nov 2019 • Friends
the tour was 1st class,we had trouble finding the correct entrance and we were greeted by friendly security who was looking out for us as we were a few minutes late and he took us to our guide who name was Mason
Mason was very friendly and had a relaxed calm way about him,Mason was very knowledgeable about the tour and he was able to answer all our questions,he was so good and at the end we couldn't believe the time had gone so quick
so anyone who gets Mason will be guaranteed a good tour, but I expect the others are just as good
anyway thankyou Mason it was a great night and we wish you all the best
hope you get recognition for a great job you do

SRO Audiences 'The Chase' DO NOT GO Disgusting treament
Apr 2019 • Friends
We were invited to sit in the audience for the filming of this celeb show and were looking forward to it.

I emailed SRO (organisers) to tell them that I have a disability and I need a seat with a little room and no stairs to climb. They got back to me and said that they had made a note on my booking and reserved the most appropriate place for me. I was told to ask any member of the SRO staff on arrival and they would help - this didn't happen. I asked 3 different people and was told that they were only 'loading' (this means, loading the people through to the studio like cattle) and that when I got in to tell the person there.

We were stood outside in the elements for 1.5 hours and then went forward to get a wrist band. After this a couple of hundred people were told to go home as they wouldn't get in. Next, we were 'loaded' into a pen (still outside) and waited there for another 1.5 hours where we were hemmed in like cattle. No way out as they had put metal barriers all around us. About an hour after waiting (standing) here, anyone with a wrist band over the number 400 were told they wont get in either - go home.

We eventually moved forward towards the entrance and when we got there I told another SRO guy that I had a disability and seats had been saved for me, he didn't know anything, not even his own name, I suspect.

Got in the actual studio and the guy who checked our booking was horrified that I had been stood for all this time and asked why I hadn't asked anyone for support/guidance.....I'm not going there!

He went to find us a seat and they were all taken (so what happened to the reserved seats?) and we were put to side seats with restricted view.....restricted view, that might be funny if we hadn't been stood outside for 3 hours.

Sat down and we had a black curtain in front of us and couldn't see the celebs until it was their turn for the questions. They had a TV which much smaller than ours at home, really, it was like a 1980s screen, but there were a few of them!

A lady was brought to the stage to meet Bradly Walsh and the celebs because apparently she had fell in the crowed outside while waiting and broken her fingers on the steps! Call me cynical but I feel this was an attempt to negate any legal action

The standing and stress brought on a really bad 'flare' (autoimmune disease) and I have been very ill all week.

All the people we spoke to were disgusted at the treatment that we all received. We were stood with 4 young people and they were aching and tired so imagine me with a disability.

SRO you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Unfortunately no longer in existence!
Dec 2015
As a former BBC employee, I wanted to revisit TVC before it was sold-off and remodelled into housing and hotels etc. Took the tour - one of the final ones - with a friend, just so I could say au revoir to an old friend (TVC!) It was very good. Very sad to see the place looking so shabby when it once was so vibrant and in good decorative order. Alas nowadays it's all gone, and is just memories to those of us who were once priviledged to be employed by the corporation.....I cannot put the correct date in because it doesn't go back to 2013, but that was when we toured TVC.

Under Construction - Will become housing with three studios
Jun 2016 • Solo
At the moment, Television Centre is being redeveloped as housing and offices. When the first phase is completed, three remaining studios will be leased back to the BBC.

What a previous reviewer called "Car Park Roof Experience" is actually called Pergola on the Roof. It is located on top of the car park and runs from May 26th until August 29th, 2016.

Car Park Roof Experience
Jun 2016
Fantastic evening on the roof of the old bbc tv car park 4 different pop up street food stalls serving really good and varied food and sensible prices. The cental bar was well stocked and service was pretty fast to say there was over one thuosand people up there on this sunny Saturday evening,we booked a table for our party of six which was just as well as the place was full. Great evening out with tons of atmosphere!

BBC only uses a couple of revamped studios here nowadays, which are difficult to visit.
Mar 2015 • Friends
The tour at this vast complex used to be very good - I did it more than once - but it no longer functions as the BBC's television headquarters and most recent reviewers are confusing it with BBC Broadcasting House at Langham Place, which has its own review site.

BBC Tour
Sep 2015 • Friends
You need to book the tour and get a time as the are every 15 mins. you have bags checked by security on arrival. The 2 guys showing us explained the news gathering and all the different news gathering methods. We saw the One Show studio and sat on the green sofa.
You could do a news reading role or be a weather forcaster and also take part in a rado drama with all the sound effects a very good tour and well worth a visit, the tour lasts about 1 and a half hours and you need to arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time

A Good Day Out
Jun 2015 • Friends
I arranged a tour for 10 of our friends, one in a wheelchair for an 11 0,clock tour. All our bags were security checked, we registered, were issued with passes and the tour started on time. The 2 young men who took us on the tour were great, very informative and amusing, all of the staff we met were polite and seemed genuinly pleased to see us. The cafe and little shop were reasonable priced and we certainly looked at the News and The One Show in a new light, a most enjoyable and different day, highly recomended
