We collectively loved our tour of East London with Jonnie. It was going to be a small group at first, but it ended up being 12 of us, from different countries, and Jonnie handled it like a pro. He is very funny and we all loved his self-depreciating humor. He was also full of many facts about the city. You... More

Joining the Bowl of Chalk walks was probably the best decision we made during our first trip to London, especially as a couple interested in getting to know the less-traveled side of the city. We had the opportunity - and true pleasure - of going on two separate walks with Jonnie: the Sunday (East London) walk, and the Saturday walk... More

So pleased we listened to my parents' recommendation and joined Jonnie on a Sunday afternoon walk. Even with a larger group of 12 people, 4 families/couples, Jonnie was very personable and kept us all entertained and engaged during the walk. Being already quite familiar with London it was really interesting to be taken away from the hot spots, see the... More

We had done the Saturday Morning Walk before, how ever friends with us had not so we booked up for the 12th, with the proviso we didn't want to be bored so Jonnie was set a task of mixing in some new facts! Have to say it was brilliant as ever well worth a morning hearing hidden facts that you... More

Thanks to Jonnie we now are more knowledgable and familiar with this neighbourhood of London. He was very well informed and shared a lot of londons history, monuments and landmarks with us - we would never have known the meanings, historical significance or locations of these hadn't Jonnie showed us around. Extremely friendly and funny and made the experience well... More

Our family of 5 (children aged 14, 14 and 11) all really enjoyed our tour with Jonnie. We booked a private tour as the timings suited us better. The arrangements were easily made and we felt it was very good value for the time and attention we were given. I agree with other comments made that the tour was fun... More

My 8 university students and I thoroughly enjoyed Jonny's tour of East London focused on street art. He wove together historical background on London generally, current demographic and development trends in this turbulent neighborhood, and lots of jaw-dropping pictorial and sculptural art--a flourishing medium in the wake of Banksy et al.

Recommended by friends, I joined Jonnie's Sunday morning walk at the last minute when I found myself with a free day in London. The walk was relaxed and fun. Jonnie is friendly, interested and inclusive and I learned lots of quirky facts which I would have no idea about otherwise. Would definitely go again!

Although the reviews I read before gave a pretty good description of what the tour is about, this tour still exceeded my expectations. It was fun, informative, and very enjoyable. Johnnie made the 3 hours pass so quickly, filling them with bits of information that you would only find out if you really knew and researched the history of the... More

We are a family of six, with three generations raging in age from 11 to 71. Jonnie customized two half day walking tours suitable for the whole family. The first day he met us at our hotel which made things very easy. The tours were fun for the whole family and covered major sights as well as many out of... More
