Have just spent a week using the DLR to travel in and out of central London. Station at Canning Town just a short walk from our hotel. Very reasonable price with an Oyster card. The trains are modern, clean and easily accessible for wheelchairs, buggies, luggage etc. as you can wheel on and off the platform with ease. Plenty of... More

Travelled from Canary Wharf to Stratford on this very clean and speed train. We didn't realise that the train went just between these stations so sat where we thought was the front (for a great view) but it was the back!! Had a seat both ways. A little pricey but my young son was free.

Thisis an engineering feat and I always marvel at how it was constructed. Its clean and very efficient. You can go to London City Airport, Bank in the City Centre, Greenwich or Stratford magnificent shopping centre. Charges are very reasonable and most tickets work on underground and buses.

More comfortable than the under ground, easy to use and services fast and often. I was staying in Greenwich for the weekend and using the DLR into central london or to Excel was a dream. It was busy on Friday night as you'd expect but nowhere near as crowded as the underground (and given the current weather was cooler).

Automated system around 30 years serving the new Canary Wharf development and only 1 low speed derailment, safety wise very impressive Yet even with new trains, seats are still compact ! and not the smoothest ride

A great way to travel and see the sights in London where you can. We experienced no issues and they are very frequent and reliable.

Nice smooth transport that operates when most of south London was halted by an overnight thunderstorm. Exceptionally clean and ran to time.

Originally set up as driverless and originally as buggy as any version of Windows, DLR is now a reliable way of public transport to the Near East of London. Staff on the train is usually friendly and forthcoming, especially if you haven't yet figured out the ticket machines and the way the system works. Announcements in the train can actually... More

Sit up front and be 'the driver' of the train. Great views. Fun trip to Greenwich. Daughter enjoyed it a lot.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
