Specialis Revelio!

Took my teenage HP superfan for a wonderful day out yesterday. Throughly enjoyed by both of us. Lots of information, behind the scenes information (photography and video footage), the staff were so welcoming, attentive and really willing to go the extra mile and fill you in on extra bits, info, tips, reasons that certain things were done etc. It's a good hour or so's attraction and ends with the Butterbeer Bar (we enjoyed a lovely sandwich and of course Butterbeer) and it was nice to spot "tankard cleaning" stations, so once you have enjoyed your drink you can rinse out & dry the tankard to take home without any sticky mess. It's worth the £6.99 for the souvenir bottle/tankard and might negate the need to spend out in the shop. Two green screen photo opportunities (broomstick flying and ministry of magic ID at a cost of £15 for a picture or £20 for both - the ministry ID is the same one you can download/print for free if you Google it so we only bought the photo). The toilets are spotless and everyone was wearing a mask, very few people in any one part of the exhibition so clearly reduced numbers to help with Covid was in place and ensured you got some great photo's of the props without waiting for people to move etc. Including a sandwich/butterbeer lunch break, we spent about 90 minutes here. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in Harry Potter.

I wasn't not rich enough or a big of a Potter fan to enjoy this

Squeezing every penny out of the harry potter fan.

If money is no object then you may enjoy this. For the sum of £20 (Adult entry fee), you get to enjoy some printed production shots and a few costumes. Then if you want to have your picture taken then it’s another £15 for one picture or £20 for 2. If you want to drink a bottle of butterbeer then that will be another £6.99! Do Warner Bros and J.K Rowling need to rip off the fans any further?

It really isn’t worth the entry fee.

Friendly staff
Jul 2021 • Friends
The staff were lovely and very eager to chat with you about their love and knowledge of Harry Potter, both books and films. Special mention to Patrick who was extremely friendly and funny chatting to us throughout the exhibit, he made the experience very enjoyable.

The exhibit itself is slightly underwhelming in its reuse of photographs and facts which are already widely available online/in media to the Harry Potter fanatics so perhaps a slightly overpriced experience.

Enjoyable for everyone, even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan
Jul 2021
I bought tickets to the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition at the front door through the official website which was hassle-free. The staff at the entrance all the way to the exit were extremely friendly. Most of them are very knowledgeable so feel free to discuss obscure details of the franchise with them. I have to give a special shout-out to George who made our experience all the more memorable. He was an absolute pleasure to chat with throughout.

In terms of the exhibition itself, the quality of the photographs are fantastic with many previously unseen behind-the-scenes shots. The little nuggets of information contained in the captions are fascinating if you'd like to discover how the Harry Potter films were brought to life. There are small sections dedicated to the Cursed Child play and the two Fantastic Beasts films as well.

The paid photo opportunities will no doubt be of interest to visitors, despite the prices being admittedly rather high. I had a picture taken on a broomstick against a green screen, allowing me to choose between two different backgrounds before getting it printed from the designated stall. The chance to get an official Ministry of Magic ID was also hard to pass up and is beautifully presented.

There are a few original costumes and props from the films on display. Some notable examples include Hogwarts students' textbooks, Gilderoy Lockhart's published works, Snape's potion jars, one of Hermione's Deathly Hallows outfits, and Lord Voldemort's green robe. Perhaps most eye-catching though is one of the sixteen Ford Anglia cars used during filming which can be seen at the entrance.

Located towards the end of the exhibition is the Bottled Butterbeer Bar and the Harry Potter shop. Both provide a reasonable selection of items, although again the prices are on the higher side. Having said that, I have to add that the quality of the food and merchandise are exceptional. The highlight for me was being able to drink Butterbeer for the first time which tasted just like I imagined it would from the descriptions in the books. You can even take the tankard home as a souvenir for your memories.

To sum things up, I would strongly encourage you to explore the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition. It only takes about an hour in case you're strapped for time, but I recommend staying longer if you want to absorb as much as you can. Whether or not you're a fan of the books and films, it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Who's Harry Potter?
Jul 2021
I'll start by saying i am not a Harry Potter fan, however I have a wife who is a Harry Potter nut, and so, having been to the Harry Potter studios 3 times and the play, it was inevitable we would go to the exhibition.
As with the studio I was very impressed. The interaction, help and knowledge from all the staff was the best i have seen at any visitor centre. To a HP fan this must be even better. As for the exhibition itself it was very informative and had 'bits' I had not heard or seen at the studio.
My only criticism is the same as the one I would level at the studio and that is the shop prices are exorbitant and ripping off parents with children. The merchandise is quality I would admit, however there are families who struggle to afford to go to the studio or exhibition let alone merchandise, to show what you have on offer via a route you have to take is shameful and disappointing. You have a business that doesn't need to exploit its fans.
Having had my whinge at the end please don't let it distract from going to this superb exhibition, the staff alone will enhance your experience and don't forget I am not, and still not, a Harry Potter fan (though feel i'm being 'brainwashed' by my family). :-)

I'd give it 6 stars if I could
Jul 2021 • Solo
Booked to visit whilst on my solo outing to London and was totally blown away. The exhibition has a stunning collection of behind the scenes pictures and information to support that. All planned out in an easy to follow one way system, aswell as super informative and friendly staff. The staff in particular are worth highlighting as they made the experience even more memorable. I can't remember all their names but Elena and Jasmine stand out in particular.

It's a cracking way to spend 1 to 2 hours with a well stocked shop and nice cafe at the end aswell as photo opportunities which I took advantage of. The tuna cheese baugette I had was very tasty! I hope this becomes a permanent fixture for the future for individuals, groups and families to check out as with what's on offer and the staff it's a must on any visit to London even if you're only slightly into Harry Potter.

All muggles required.....
Jul 2021
I had, what can only be described, as the most amazing couple of Harry Potter hours, apart from reading the books, seeing the play and watching the films.
I was lucky enough to go on the first Friday and am so glad I did.
There were no crowds, which meant that I could browse at my leisure, take pictures without some idiot walking in the way and truly enjoy all the exhibits.
The staff were excellent, from Jessie at the front door to the Security Lady as you left the gift shop.
The 'helpers' around the exhibition were very knowledgeable and I learnt a shedload of stuff.
The only 'downside', was that there weren't any actual souvenir items of the exhibition itself, not even a keepsake like a keyring or a leaflet. Luckily I took a picture of the door with the details, but it would have been nice.....just saying marketing people....
Overall, if you're even half a Potter fan, I'd recommend this to you.

Absolutely worth a visit!
Jul 2021
As a massive Harry Potter fan I had a really good time at this exhibition. It's great if you don't have the time or money to go the studio tour in Leavesden, or if you've already been to the studio tour and want to see more! It is mostly photography, with a few objects/props/costumes and a few interactive elements like green screen photos.

The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and so knowledgeable about Harry Potter. They are clearly well versed in stats and facts, which really made the exhibition extra special. The Butterbeer Bar is really beautifully done, one or two booths in particular are really amazing so try and nab those!

As tickets are £20 it would have been nice if the ticket price included a photo or a Butterbeer, but these are paid extras. As such I didn't opt to buy the photo which is a shame - you could have your own ministry of magic ID card etc, but I couldn't justify the price.
