Four well traveled adults went on two separate tours with Stephen during the holidays. We all found him enlightening, informative and entertaining. Add knowledgable and interesting and you get the total experience. His passion for what he does comes across in his explanations and historical perspectives. His repertoire of tours is not limited to Jewish London, but he does add the Jewish perspective to his explanations. The half day tour to Hampton Court Palace was one of the highlights of our trip.
Pre-booked the tours online and paid a deposit through PayPal which was extremely easy. Additionally, Stephen provided guidance on which specific tours to schedule -- and his suggestions were well though out and proved to be exactly what we were seeking.
We highly recommend him as a tour guide. The ultimate review is that we would definitely use his services on a return trip to London.

We spent a wonderful day with Stephen touring the City and the old East End. His passion for the city and its Jewish heritage is infectious and the tour was by turns poignant, informative and entertaining. Stephen is a knowledgeable and witty guide who has developed a very well-planned tour which takes in many dozens of sites of tremendous interest, supplemented by his own collection of pictures.

If you're interested in Jewish history, or the history of London, or just history in general, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

Stephen is extremely knowledgeable and it was a great way to explore London. His tour takes you throughout the city as he shares his knowledge of the country's Jewish history. The weather was awful, yet we still had a great time and with his sense of humor, candor, and knowledge, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

This is an amazing way to see London, and is a must-do!

We took two tours with Stephen, and both were wonderful. London's Famous Attractions, a 2-1/2 hour walking tour, is a great introduction to London (and it doesn't have to be your first time in London to enjoy the tour). Hampton Court Palace was a half-day tour, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

We highly recommend Stephen as a tour guide, and will definitely take more tours with him on future trips to London.

We have visited London many times over the years and always look for something new. This time we found Jewish London Walking Tours. ..a last minute decision and glad we did. Stephen was very responsive to my emails and even gave us alternate travel advice to the meeting place since the preferred Tube line was closed that day. The tour of the Old Jewish Quarter was excellent. We really enjoyed the commentary about the Bevis Marks synagogue, the history, the neighbourhoods and markets. Stephen was delightful, very knowledgable and enthusiastic about his work. We look forward to taking another tour next visit and highly recommend to anyone wanting more than a struggle with the guide book.

Thank you Stephen for an excellent and very memorable tour. We had a private tour from Stephen and he customised it for my wife who’s relatives came over from Russia in the 1880’s. Stephen found the street where they lived and brought alive the journey they had undertaken and the way they lived in Spitalfields. It felt like we were walking in the footsteps of my wife’s ancestors. Deeply touching and the most memorable day. I highly recommend a tour with Stephen his knowledge and ability to make it come alive is truly genius. Thank you.

Hello and thanks for your great review. I loved seeing the joy on your wife's face when I said: "And this is where your great grandfather lived!". It was also a pleasure taking you all to other fascinating sites and describing how life was there so many years ago. Kind regards. Stephen Burstin

My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Stephen is well of knowledge about the history of Britain's Jewish community. His personal connection to the East End of London adds greatly to his narration of the story of London Jewry. I highly recommend his tour to any one that has an interest in the history and development of London Jewry.

We took Stephen’s extended East End tour (with vehicle) and were thoroughly fascinated with his discussion of the history of the Jewish community and exploration of the old neighborhoods. He showed us sites that remain from the old days and very effectively brings them to life with a collection of photos that evoke daily life a century or more ago. A special highlight was Stephen’s access to a building of flats that had previously been a synagogue, the evidence of which was fascinating. We highly recommend this Jewish London walking tour for the opportunity to experience this unique, historic, and evolving section of London.

What a superb way to see and learn about the personalities and institutions of the Jewish Community in London. We took 2 tours, Old Jewish Quarter and London's Famous Attractions, and we can highly recommend both as London newcomers. The famous Bevis Marks synagogue with its subdued church-like outer design was touching to see, as Stephen our guide is actually a regular attendee there. He explained how this synagogue was spiritual home to the Montefiores, and the Disraelis till they withdrew, yet its provision of Jewish background undoubtedly influenced Benjamin Disraeli as prime minister. Also the sweatshops, the dense throngs of Jewish immigrants, and schools teaching young Yiddish speakers proper English speech were inspiring, as well as the benefactors from the Jewish community who made sure social services were provided to the immigrants. On our London's Famous Attractions tour, we learned about 10 Downing Street, and its Jewish connections during Prime Minister David Cameron's rule, and the "contributions" of wealthy Jewish merchants who made the construction of Westminster Abbey possible. Winston Churchill's statue with an electrified scalp to repel birds was a clever idea to honor this great statesman. Stephen Burstin our guide saw to every detail and was a fun and fascinating source of historical detail and photos. Do not hesitate to take these tours, as they will be a highlight of your visit to London.
