Nice spot for breakfast and coffee
Aug 2021 • Couples
Popped in for breakfast and I was very happy with the VT Bagel and the coffee. However, the smoothie was 90% milk. Staff were very friendly. Great location for the Olympic park.

More Than Just A Cafe.
Aug 2021
I arrived at The View Tube via a section of The Greenway , joining it at Wick Lane.
The Greenway is raised here & is divided in 2 for separate use by walkers & cyclists.
Incidentally , The Greenway sits on top of Joseph Bazalgette's Northern Outflow sewer. It is only a 10 minute walk to The View Tube from Wick Lane but you may take longer admiring views to the left of the Olympic Park & Fish Island & to the right a much longer prospect of the London Skyline ( Shard , Canary Wharf etc. ) beyond a large area of soon to be developed wasteland. As you approach The View Tube you can see it is painted a difficult to describe colour that I thought of as yellow with a hint of lime green. To the right as you approach is a line of small , low lock ups of which only a couple were open at the time of my visit. The one next to The View Tube deals with cycles , parts & repairs by the look of it. In the middle of The Greenway here are a few raised beds of shrubs & plants.
By the way , you can join or leave The Greenway at many points en route.
There are a few seats outside the front. Going in there is glass covered seating followed by a very nice indoor area where you can get a great range of food , alcoholic drinks , coffee , soft drinks etc. Also a massive T. V. screen ( The Olympics showing during my visit ) Out back is a large garden , some paved , some grass with coloured picnic tables , more seating scattered all over, some under shady trees.
Nice , friendly service.
All in all, a great place to visit at any time for just a drink or lingering over a few beers & food.

MUST visit
May 2021
A gem of a place, with a nice area, amazing people who work there and delicious food!

Really a must visit for anyone who wants to spend a nice day off in a beautiful terrace with close friends or a romantic evening!

Great cycle cafe
May 2021
Great place to stop for a coffee while out for a ride, very cycle friendly. Apart from their gardener lady who suggested we shouldn't take our bikes round to the garden (even though bike racks are provided there). Couldn't understand her grouchy attitude, but the regular staff are very friendly. Haven't eaten here yet, but I plan to.

Great Visit
Mar 2021
The View Tube is in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and is very close to the Pudding Mill Lane station which is on the Docklands Light Railway which is served by trains from Stratford to Canary Wharf.

Take a short walk under the railway line and you can see the green units of the View Tube.

I visited during lockdown restrictions and their cafe was open for food to takeaway or sit in their garden area where there are quite a few socially distanced seating areas.

I ordered some food and a drink and was given a disc which bleeped loudly when my food was ready so I knew I could collect it.

They have free wifi and my food was very tasty.

If you are visiting the area which is at the end of the green way I would definitely recommend a visit for a pitstop.

Avoid unless you need tap water
Nov 2020
When more than 4 of you feel a negative vibe when placing your order, and then share notes after, its a sure sign that the 'negativitiy' felt was not one that was misread.

point 1 - the lack of a smile or warm welcome was the first impression. Nonetheless, we continued giving them the benefit of the doubt

point 2 - the food ordered was rather poor and not tasty. The coffee, unfortunately, was very bad. The reason why we didn't request another coffee was due to the negative vibes experienced.

We certainly won't be visiting again and will be sharing our experience with the proprietors.

Oh, did i mention that we were the only non-white people there...

Honestly best sandwich I’ve ever had
Oct 2020 • Friends
The Cubano sandwiches at this place are honestly the best. Buttery and flavourful amazing bread. I always get the vegan but all the flavours are good.

Atmosphere is always nice. Great soundtrack and lively vibe. Great outdoor seating and nice view of the Olympic stadium.

Amazing food, favourite place in the area by far.
Oct 2020
Chanced upon this place on a walk and wanted coffee - didn't even realise it served food. Ended up getting a cubano, fries and coffee. I can honestly say the food is amazing, the restaurant is a really nice place to sit, staff are friendly and everything is amazing value for money. It's on the greenway and away from roads so it's such a nice change from the rest of London. Will go out of my way to visit again.

*With reference to a review below - a lot of eateries are using disposable cutlery and cups at the moment due to Covid, going out of your way to give an independent business a one star review in the current climate and citing this as a contributing factor is ignorant.

Not good
Sep 2020
Stopped here for tea, cake and wine. Chocolate cake was not good (factory made and very sickly), and the wine was served in the smallest plastic cup I’ve ever seen. Drinks and cake served in packaging instead of cups and plates. Not very eco friendly. Service was quite unfriendly.

A treasure! What a find! Excellent value!
May 2020 • Couples
We have eaten here a couple of times and absolutely love the food! It is made with such care. The ingredients are top notch and the service is friendly and welcoming. They are open for take out and there are areas around and behind the cafe where you can sit and enjoy the food and drink while maintaining social distancing. Definitely worth seeking out.
