My partner and I went on the day trip to Stonehenge, Bath and Avebury and I cannot recommend this highly enough. It was the clear highlight of our trip. The guide was an expert and clearly passionate about these sites, making the trip really enjoyable and worthwhile. Our guide was friendly and entertaining, so it never felt like an information... My wife, daughter and I had a great day touring Stonehenge, Bath and Avebury in June 2016. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a degree in archeology which made tour even better. Bus ride was very nice and group was small - around 15 people. Guide even made 2 unscheduled stops for us to view more history. Rain throughout... More

Fabulous tour! I highly recommend seeing Stonehenge this way. Edward was very entertaining & knowledgable and it was great getting the insights on stoneage monuments from a professional archeologist. It really helped us to understand what we were seeing elsewhere in our UK travels. Small group, loved visiting Avesbury especially too.

My husband, 12-year old daughter, and 9-year old son, took a tour to Stonehenge, Bath, and Avebury with Tours from Antiquity in June 2016. The group was small - 18 people - and led by a knowledgeable and friendly archaeologist. We learned so much during the day, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to London. I... More

We went to Stonehenge, Salisbury, and Avebury. Kim was our archaeologist tour guide. She knew everything! She created context for us by describing the time we were exploring...3000 BC...for Stonehenge! Her narration was thoughtful, clear and conversational. She happily discussed individual questions. The tour was balanced beautifully in terms of new information, downtime, new information. Kim also expertly guided us... More

Wonderful tour. Guides are actual archeologists. Very nice and accessible for questions. Very stress free - pick up outside of Natural History Museum (easy tube ride). Driver was wonderful. Small group (about 15). Great balance between time with guide and free time.

Our tour leader (Edward) was incredibly knowledgeable which really added so much more to just doing this tour on your own. Being in a small group really helped with learning more about past times. The mini bus from London and back again was the best way to travel. Thank you for a great experience.

My husband and I went on the Stonehene/Bath/Avebury tour, and it was all we could have hoped for. Edward's enthusiasm was absolutely contagious, and I loved that we were a small group. No audio-guides, no herding, just a group of people interested in the actual history of the places we visited. Highly recommend.

My wife and I (senior citizens) took the Tours from Antiquity tour of Stonehenge, Bath, and Avebury in early June. Can not be beat. Ed Shepherd, our tour guide, was exceptionally friendly, personable, and knowledgeable (he had worked at the site). Transportation was a very comfortable Mercedes van. When in London we take London Walks tours and enjoy them but... More

Kim (tour guide) and Steve (our driver) brought Stonehenge,Bath, and Avebury to life in a way not typical of most of these day trips. An excellent job including navigating the awful traffic we hit coming back thanks to motorway accidents. I would highly recommend this tour for a deeper perspective on these sites.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
