First time I had been here since the 1970's and my wife's first visit and we just loved it. You get to see and touch the animals, sheep, goats and even pigs(but watch out for their teeth). If you love animals this is a must do visit. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

A wonderful community asset as some people grow vegetables too. It is a proper farm too and you can buy their sausages!

A lovely cafe is right outside and you can sit and have a really good coffee by the river on the outside seats. the food is absolutely delicious, great sandwiches and cakes. Again, lovely Italian lady runs it and she has nice deli section too.

It's on the Thames Path as well so you can walk to Greenwich or Tower Bridge if you like.

100% we will be back

It is free, but a donation would be nice....but no pressure if you cant afford it

I was passing along the Thames path so dropped in. Run bt volunteers. Friendly and a variety of farm animals to look at together with some plant growing too. Obviously a bit damp and muddy in February. Nice place to while away a bit of time and for children to meet the animals. Shame cafe wasn't open.

Surrey Docks City Farm is a small working farm on the banks of the Thames right opposite Canary Wharf. Close to Rotherhithe Hilton or YHA the farm has a farm-yard where you can get close up to lovely chickens, goats and sheep. There are also donkeys, ducks, cows pigs, turkeys and bees!
There's a cafe or you can eat your own food along the river wall.
Lots of animals, lots to see, helpful and friendly volunteers.
It's free to get in, but they ask for £3 donations from adult visitors. Give more if you can, the charity and volunteers struggle to make ends meet.

Came to see the pigs but was most saddened to see the conditions in which they were living. Concrete enclosures with nothing to stimulate them. No acces to soil, grass etc. One pig had no hut and had to lie in a stable door on straw. Acces to Water seemed limited. Anyone with the most basic understanding and knowledge of pigs and their requirements should be appalled. It looked like an industrial Commercial pigstable. A sad and disappointing experience

Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm in the heart near the centre of London. Its just under 9,000 sq metres on the south bank of the River Thames at Rotherhithe where there is the Brunel Museum.

The farm provides opportunities for local people to learn about farming and food production, and to be actively involved in the work of the farm. There is a fully functional classroom used by schools from across London.

Animals reared on the farm include a herd of goats, sheep, cattle, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, and donkeys. They also keep bees. There is an orchard, herb garden, and vegetable plots. A working blacksmith is evidence by the artefacts around.

Fresh food and produce are on sale to the public all visitors. The rustic cafe sells home made snacks. For Sunday lunch you can get a whole or half roast chicken with roast veg and homemade lemon aid. It's a real experience to go down there, especially if you have kids. The Thames Clipper stops at the nearby Greenland Docks Pier (Greenland not Greenwhich), confusingly also sometimes called the Surrey Quays Pier.

I liked a lot the location, the atmosphere and the food. You can feel in the countryside! I didn't appreciate the space for the animals..too much small.

We had a good time at the farm for about slightly more than a hour. It wasnt as big as I imagined it would be. My little boy bought a 1 pound bag of feed for the sheeps and we had a good time when the eager animals lick the oat feed off our palms. As expected, there were only a handful of visitors on a quiet Monday morning. Be sure to look out for a beautiful black cat in the shop call Watson. After the visit, we went to a bus syop nearby and hop on a bus to Surrey Shopping mall near the Canada Waters tube station.

Food is fresh, organic and tasty. Adds charm and character to Rotherhithe.
The fry up breakfast or make your own breaky is particularly great, as they serve it all day.
The kids get to feed the animals but you have to buy the food pellets to ensure they conform with organic standards.
Also listed as a charity as they get a lot of disadvantaged children involved in projects on animal care to growing your own fruit n veg, so please donate what you can! There is a collection can just opposite the cafe or by the entrance door. Entry is free however.

The nearest station is Canada Water or Rotherhithe station and then take the C10 bus which stops outside?
Kids love it they have a lovely cafe and lots to do for the young ones.
If you are at Canary Wharf you can get the boat across to the Hilton Hotel and it is only a short walk from there.
I have the trip advisor app and the travel information of how to get there is incorrect.
