The area
Neighborhood: Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.

Central London
Aug 2020 • Friends
Linking Westminster with the City of London, Strand is a main thoroughfare for road traffic, commuters, tourists, and small and large business. Big name places such as The Savoy hotel and Somerset House are found in this area and there are numerous places to eat and drink. My most recent visit here was principally for Strand Palace Hotel which has undergone recent renovations turning it into a terrific and contemporary central London accommodation.

No option given because of covid
Jul 2020 • Couples
My daughter and myself booked before Covid to stay in August as we were going to The Savoy for a meal and the theatre which were both cancelled 😞 I paid £240 for the room and have asked for a refund or at least to change the date but even after speaking to the manager they have still refused !! The coach and the tickets have all been refunded with no problem but not with this Hotel . I would have expected better from such a Hotel ,

A lovely Christmas vibe.
Dec 2019
We had a fantastic stroll on the Strand during Christmas time.
The atmosphere was great and the Christmas decorations did all the difference.

Famous Street
Dec 2019
Running from Trafalgar Square to Temple Bar for about ¾ mile and roughly parallel to the Thames the street is full of shops, café’s, restaurants and theatres. There is also the famous Savoy Hotel just along from Charing Cross Station at the Trafalgar Square end of the street. Lots to do and see all along The Strand.

Lots to do!
Sep 2019
Not only is Strand famous from Monopoly (the real Monopoly, not the American version), there's plenty to do and see.

The main attractions on Strand are:

- The Royal Courts of Justice
- St Clement Danes (oranges and lemons said the bells of St Clement)
- The four statues around St Clements
- St Mary Le Strand

and many more architectural buildings, including the entrance to Somerset House.

Magical Christmas atmosphere
Dec 2018 • Solo
The ambience in the run up to Christmas was almost magical with big crowds do their shopping, going for dinner, watching the numerous theatres around the area or simply passing through the Strand to get to their destinations. Nice street decorations hung above the street enhancing the cheerful atmosphere.

Unlike the Oxford Street which seemed to be famous for shopping, Strand is commercial, cultural as well as historical with numerous buildings and monuments from eras bygone present in the area.

Beautiful buildings
Dec 2018 • Family
Beautiful buildings all along The Strand made for a great stroll ending in the theatre district. Nice Christmas lights display when we visited in December, though more beautiful displays elsewhere in the city.

Strand or The Strand
Jan 2019 • Family
I always call Strand “The Strand” & I feel that it being such a magnificent street that adding “The” to it is perfectly fitting.
It is one of the major & most recognisable roads in London.
It is about a mile long running from Trafalgar to Temple Bar. It also links into Covent Garden.
It is a wide & majestic street & is home to the world famous Savoy Hotel & at least 3 West End theatres.
A good street to have a walk.

A great place to visit
Aug 2018 • Couples
Linking the financial district with the West End this is a great area to go and see. Easy to navigate pavements and some great sights like It's difficult to know where to start or to stop when describing the Strand, one of central London's main roads linking the the Royal Courts of Justice and the must see RAF Church it is a must. Don;t forget to see the Savoy too.
