I just saw a review below and it was talking about sitting at a table waiting for service. I have done that before when I had never been in a London Pub. You go up to the bar and order and pay. No one comes to your table and takes your order. If you don't figure it out, too bad.... More

I had been to this place in December 2011. This place on weekend is usually very crowded. I loved the fish and chips ad beer here!

First day in London with my boyfriend and we were walking around exploring the area of Trafalgar square. After seeing the Buckingham palace we decided to rest in a pub drinking beer. The first good looking we saw was that pub. We went inside and no-one welcomed us, we sat in a table and a waiter came and said it... More

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast after a long overnight flight. It was exactly what we needed! The food was great and the staff were very attentive. We will definitely go there again if we're ever back in the city.

A lovely pub very centrally located. To eat you need to book. The food was good and typical English pub food.

Booked this place on a love theatre deal. The theatre messed up and didn't give us our voucher. Anyway staff could not of been more helpful and got it resolved The food. I think some reviewers for £12 a main are unreasonable. This is pub grub in the centre of London. So offers great value for a good quality food.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our "pub grub" at the Sherlock. The chef produced a fine pie and did a great job with the scampi. Our waiters, Tom and Fabs, were professional and attentive without being intrusive and the environment with most conducive, particularly give how busy the bar downstairs was. On that note, our barmaid, Kay, was very helpful. Overall a... More

Spent Friday and Saturday night here and the place never dissapoints. Great atmosphere always someone willing to share a joke over a few beers. This place is the best value for food and drink anywhere in London. Can't wait to go back.

Famous pub but needs a management overhaul. Could have been so much better. Areas seen by us, the customer, were cluttered with cleaning materials. The lighting was poor. Don't be fooled by the name this could be any poor quality London pub. Try somewhere else.

I was here back in 2013, but my experience back then was basically a pub that was incredibly crowded (as was the case with most pubs back then, especially since it was freezing outside) and striking up a conversation with a lovely French woman. Anyway, I had since found out that there is a lot more to this pub than... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
