Lovely pub close to Charring Cross station and Trafalgar Square. Food excellent. But on last visit staff seemed unable to cope with the amount of people. Our meals took far to long to arrive. We went to the bar to see what was happening and the meals were in the meal lift waiting. One was cold. But the waiter very... More

The place is really nice! It a regular pub with a good selection of draft beers! We also had coffee and it was pretty good..

After ordering in the restaurant two rats appeared in the fireplace. A rather rude member of staff assured us that this was not uncommon as "we're near a tube station".

After all the meh reviews, I really wanted to find something to like about this pub! It was our first London pub experience -- it's in a great location just off Trafalgar Square with quaint, timely decorations and a clean bathroom. However, I was completely shocked that water was not free, and I honestly think that left a sour taste... More

This pub wasn't on our list of must see/do places for our London trip. However, it became our go to place for drinks and light meals at the end of the day. The service was great, the atmosphere was excellent. I would not recommend going there in the early evenings if you are off put by crowds because it does... More

Had an afternoon snack and a couple of drinks in the summer sunshine at The Sherlock Holmes Pub; good service at the bar with plenty of staff. The food was standard pub stuff. This pub is well located for Trafalgar Square and Charing Cross - with plenty of space to stand outside and chat.

My husband and I were walking about exploring London when we stumbled upon this pub. We enjoyed a very nice lunch and beverage. The sandwiches were tasty and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Upstairs they have another dining area as well as a room you can look into that is set up as Holme's study. The menu offered standard pub... More

This pub is child friendly but do not have high chairs but has superb food and interesting menu cards. U can see a small room in which Sherlock Holmes is visible. Good place and good food

Being a big Holmes fan, this was in the top of my list during a recent trip to London with the family. The food was wonderful and so were the servers. Had interesting conversations with the employees (had gone the day after brexit). Liked the Sherlock and Watson ales. The only disappointment was that they had run out of the... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
