Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. It is also one of London’s most iconic and visited tourist attractions.

Over the years, it has been the scene of over 150,000 performances; from Wagner to Sinatra, The Beatles to Beyonce, Muhammad Ali to Adele, and is home to the celebrated BBC Proms.

Whilst the venue is most famous for its shows by night, by day this treasured building is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and guided tours of the building.

Tip for tour ticket holders: Enjoy a 10% discount on items in the Hall’s gift shop and Cafe Bar.

Had the privilege of being in the Royal Albert Hall with close friends for a special occasion. What a treat. What a place. What acoustics. What a performance. Plenty of leg room for the tall one. An amazing tradition of British culture.

I have been going to the RAH yearly for the past 25 years. I normally go several times in the Summer during the Proms season but I also keep an eye on other shows/concerts and events going on throughout the year and go whenever I can. It's my favorite concert venue in London. It's an unique an iconic London building,... More

Interesting collections with always something new on display and there are some activities that you can join in, I went there for a drawing class, which took place in front of Caravaggio' and Rembrandt' original paintings.

This was our 1st visit to the Royal Albert Hall. We ate at Verdi's restaurant before the concert. Good food and excellent staff. We were a little early for the concert, but were able to view the corridors and pictures - thus gaining an insight into the history etc. We spoke to a couple of the staff who were friendly,... More

Even if you only "kind of" like a band --- if they are playing at RAH - make sure you go. Not a bad seat in the place, acoustics, ambience, what more could you want.

Felt very lucky to make it to this year's Proms! We got last minute tickets so we sat at the arena, enjoy the view and danced with the presenters (CBeebies Prom). Can't wait to be back ;-)

We were taken around the building on a great, informative tour with a very knowledgable guide. The tour goes over several different floors via the staircases but there is a lift available for less able people. We saw the rehearsal of the Proms concert that evening (CIty of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra playing Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony that we also went to... More

We had a lovely evening at the proms. The RAH is a beautiful building. There are plenty of bars to get a drink at and one can take a drink in - remember to order your interval drinks ahead of time. The concert we saw was excellent. The only real let down was the loo situation- the queues for the... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
