    Buying winter flowers
Obviously Columbia Road flower markers is hardly an undiscovered gem, it’s on every decent guide to alternative things to do in London, but sometimes it really does feel like you’re somewhere. The new Covid lay out with the stalls lining only one side of the street and extending further is a massive improvement to the old double sided scheme. You can more clearly see what’s to be had from each stall, and although the clamour of market traders hawking their posies is still atmospheric, it’s no longer an indistinguishable din. Also, you can get into the interesting wee shops on the street now. I hope it’s a system they keep when life returns to normal. There’s a queuing system to get in, but it moves pretty quickly. It is now fractionally harder to get a drink in either pub on the street, but that makes it all the more refreshing when your pint arrives.

    Unexpected beauty
This was a pleasant surprise, the market is in a street. It was such an array of various colours, flowers and plants. It was really busy, I wish we had something like that near to us. I would recommend a visit it so uplifting, makes you feel happy.

    So Many Colors!
My boyfriend and I strolled through around 12pm in the afternoon and it was very crowded. However, we enjoyed the food options and seeing all of the incredibly affordable and beautiful flowers. I would say an hour or two is enough time - it definitely wasn't as big and overwhelming as Portobello Market. I would definitely say this is a must do for any first time visitor to London!

I visited on 16 May and I was quite surprised that the bedding plants are now very expensive, in fact more than double the cost at supermarkets (Sainsburys).
Example. A 6 pack of Busy Lizzies at the market was £8. At a supermarket its £3.50 for the same quantity. Same for Petunias - they were £2 a plant at Columbia Road and you can get a pack of six plants for £3.50 at Sainsburys.

There is of course a difference - the Columbia Road traders grow their plants and are of UK origin. But when there is a price difference of over 100%, then Supermarkets are the place to go.

Other than bedding plants, there is a lot of variety - there was a large stall with dried flowers which had a lot of pretty items. The man who sells ferns was there, as was the orchid man with many orchids.

The vegetable plants were good value and there was a lot of variety.

At 8.30am it was busy but the absence of tourists/selfie takers made it pleasant and less crowded.

I'll still go again, but not for bedding plants though!

It’s a quaint street with many nice stalls selling flowers. The vibe is good. You’ll queue to get, in the opening hours are around 8-2 on sundays only. There’s an odd 1 way stream going but it does work. There are nice pubs around and good little coffee shops / bakeries on the street. It’s good for a little hour or 2 wonder if you are happy to peruse the shops/stalls and be around a lot of people

If you are a lover of flowers you will definitely love this place (no entry fee as well)!!
We were lucky to find a 9 am to 5 pm parking within walking distance of the market from JustPark.
The place is amazing and has a wide collection of flowers and plants. To avoid crowds, best is to arrive early. A must have is Andrea's hot chocolate with spice. You can easily spend 2 hours over there.
Rest of the day, we went to Petticoat lane market after having lunch at Pleasant Lady Jian Bing in Old Spitalfields Market. On our way we enjoyed the vibrant street art in Shoreditch.
Overall, a lovely way to spend your Sunday in London.

Very underwhelmed! Great if you live locally and want to buy some nice plants or flowers but the market is very small and nothing like the spectacle of colour and scent I expected. We had to queue to get in, then it is a one-way system so no going back to browse (unless you want to queue again!). Would not call this a tourist destination and regretted a long journey to get there.

This market is such a busy vibey place - flowing over with stalls of flowers and houseplants, plus a little street with numerous individual shops that you won't see anywhere else. So much to see and look at. Shops included Vintage clothes, antiques/bric a brac/, old LPs, coffee shops, pubs, jewellery. I had the best few hours here. And then what a choice from the market stalls with all those flowers and house plants. Loved it.

Great friendly security and a one way system in place, felt very covid safe. Bought some beautiful flowers, a candle, some pastries and some local Rhubarb fizzy juice. Locals are lovely as are the friendly flower sellers, nice buzz about the place and worth visiting

After 13 years in London, decided to visit the market for the first price. First, it is very overpriced. Second, it is super small. Good if you live locally, would not recommend if you are visiting / if you live far.

Columbia Road Flower Market is a lovely little market to visit. As it's only opened on a Sunday it always has that momentum. There appears to be less people than usual. As the stalls are now only on one side it's easier to walk without the hustle and bustle. If you like plants and flowers or fancy a beverage take a stroll.

During my first trip to London, I was suggested by my English friends to meet them there at Columbia Road Flower Market, and I love it, great atmosphere!!
There are so many beautiful and fabulous flowers from the local produces. It's a great idea to start a weekend morning:-)
Also, there are many nice local shops, cafes and restaurants nearby.
The only problem would be there is no subway station nearby. I was told to get off the tube at Liverpool station and walk but got lost. I was told it's 5 min walk but it's actually not 5 mins. Finally, I had to get a taxi to go there about 12 pounds!!

Pleased that this popular market has reopened. I arrived around 2pm as the stalls were beginning to close. There were some good bargains to be had with plenty of variety. Ended up buying a Camellia, Buddleia, Anemone and Blueberry plant (A Lupin and Orchid last week too!). All very good quality. Don’t be shy to haggle as the traders are friendly. Parking restrictions vary if driving so check carefully. Entry was one way at the Ravenscroft Street end. It was still reasonably busy but did not have to queue when I arrived.
