Karim was a thoughtful and very well-informed guide to street art, murals, and graffiti. He explained the differences between these types of creation, the background of the artists, and the history of what we were seeing. Our group could not have appreciated it without his help. A highlight was seeing a beautiful piece by Karim himself.

Thank you, Doug, for a wonderful tour and for sharing your insights on the area. We are definitely returning for further exploration. Although I'm sure you need a good guide to find the interesting work. Don't forget to take the tour in Ghent as well, if you like street art. Christine, Ghent

We loved seeing all the art in the streets of London and learning about the artist who made them. After the tour we were able to spot more pieces throughout the city that we would never have seen. We especially enjoyed the chewing gum art that we later viewed on the bridge near the Tate Museum. It was a wonderful... More

This really was the unexpected. Seeing Shoreditch through the eyes of our graffiti fanatic tour guide Daphne, we were all as captivated as we were inspired. When she initially told us the tour would be up to 4 hours, we were already planning an early exit. Then having stayed to the end of her fabulous tour,we went back to Shoreditch... More

I took the 4 hour tour on a Saturday and absolutely loved it. Our guide (MJ) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic--she got her PhD studying street art, has been working in the street art field for a while, and knows many of the artists personally. MJ was even kind enough to stay later than the scheduled end of the... More

We booked a tour with 'Street Art London Tours' because it looked rather professional and not 'over-touristic' and hoped to get a glimpse into the scene: what drives the artists? Is there any contact with the artists? How do they deal with the police? What we really got ourselves into was one of the most boring 2 hours of our... More

An intense four hours with non stop beautiful artwork that will change the way you look at cities wherever your home is. The tour guide (MD) gave us an incredible insight on this fascinating world, the four hours went by so quickly! We found ourselves spotting artwork in other areas of London and in other cities we travelled since. Fascinating,... More

This was the best experience this day! Our teenagers had their first visit to London and to start the holiday with this tour was so good. Just do it. It is a must!

Last night I joined a group tour hosted by Karim of street art around Old Street. Since it was booked by our client I had no idea what to expect, and in all honesty I hadn't given much thought to street art in the 30 or so years that I've lived in London! Karim was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
