While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.

So as we all know Harrods is a huge place. I took my friend a couple of days ago. Not been in 16 years so was looking forward to seeing the memorial. WELL... what a poor remembrance!!!
Bottom of an escalator a fountain style with their pics and a statue. Quite dim down in the basement area. Condolences book filled with mainly swear words and I woz ere posts. I could not believe it!!! The book should be at least replaced when full. Don't think there's much interest in remembering them here, that's how I felt.

With all due respect (and I mean that sincerely, we are reviewing a memorial), I felt it's a bit hokey. I'm not sure it belongs in a department store (even one so fantastic as Harrod's), and even going that far I'm not sure it's a very classy/proper memorial? Ultimately this is for their loved ones to decide. As a person who obviously does not "know" any of the parties involved, it just did not evoke the kind's of feelings I think a memorial ought to. It felt a bit tourist like and cheap to be honest. And I found myself thinking "here are two people who died for goodness sake! people, stop gawking and taking photos and touching everything". It just didn't feel respectful is all I'm saying. It's not for me to say but that's my opinion with all due respect.

I took friends who had never been to Harrods or seen the Diana/Dodi memorial, after walking around I finally asked a staff member.
The store is no longer part of the Fayid property portfolio, it is now owned by the Royal family of Quater and all trace of Diana has been removed.

We will probably never know the full truth about the tragedy that robbed these two popular young people of their lives, but Harrods is a department store and its main stairwell is hardly an appropriate place for quiet reflection.
The memorial itself is tacky and has become more of a shrine than a memorial. It strikes me as being nothing more than the arrogant self-indulgence of someone with more money than sense. I think it is utterly tasteless.

On our visit to London, I was expecting more of a tribute to Princess Diana. The walk way and water fountain was like an after thought. But She will always be in our hearts.

The shine to Liberace is less tacky than this vomit inducing waste of space - if you really want to lose twenty minutes of your life that you'll never get back again then this is for you - avoid !!

But I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to Harrod's to see this memorial. I thought it was trashy 10 years ago when I first saw and on seeing again this trip I thought the same. Someone needs to make Harrods remove this memorial.

We stumbled upon this memorial, and kind of wish we had not. As one other reviewer said, "You can't unsee it." Diana and Dodi frolicking in waves while launching a bird from their outstretched hands...just ack! I'm surprised it didn't have a rainbow.

This is at the lower floor in Harrods again go in the morning not when the sales are on if you wish to view this memorial which is a statue of them both. In addition you can write in the book of rememberance. Many people knew her prior to becoming a princess in the area as she used many of the shops in the area

A rather tacky memorial installed by the previous owners of Harrods whose drunk driver bears much responsibility for the accident.

If you want to pay respects then go the memorial fountain although if you are at Harrods you can spend a moment of quiet contemplation.
