Argumentively, this could be the heart of London. At least at night, when it seems as if everyone that can, jumps on the tube and ends up in this area. If you are unaware, the best place that I have found for discount theatre tickets is TKTS, in the middle of Leicester Square. They have great signage on which tickets... More

Lots of theatres in a very small area. This means that there are also lots of places to eat - some good, many pretty poor. It also means that when the theatres close, thousands of people disgorge into the streets, all searching for taxis, buses or underground travel. It can get completely manic.

I love theatreland, it is unique and there is so much choice, London is spoilt. It does get busy allow time to get to the theatre at leak times especilly evening performances.

Plain and simple, absolutely hilarious and perfectly written. If you like silly, slapstick-style comedy, this show is for you. It just does not end...scene after scene, it never let down. Some of the scenes reminded me of the classic American sitcom, THREE'S COMPANY! Great storyline. It does not disappoint. The show has been extended to March 2017, I believe. I... More

Best show I have ever seen. The storyline was excellent but the performers singing was truly superb. The performers were energetic and passionate and the harmonies were a delight. Must see!

Great fun just to wonder about the lanes and street - get cheap last minute deals at the box office and you'll have a riot!

More than just the theatres - loads of bars and restaurants to choose from. Some a little more unique than others! Each theatre you walk past is interesting and has its own distinct architectural features.

Love the West End and it is always busy. However the Christmas lights were beautiful. Lots of different shows, something to suit all tastes.

The West End Theatre District is an interesting part of London apart from the theatres as it also has a variety of very good restaurants and it is also a great place, like most of London just to walk around..

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
