Despite the crowds, this is one of the cultural, essential centres of London. It has some of the best restaurants, most fun bars and, of course, all the plays you could want to see.

Crowded but fun! The street entertainers are extremely good and there's no "pushing" for contributions. A lot of cafes and restaurants to cater for every taste and the nightlife is electric. Chinatown close by too

We went to the theatre at night. It was exciting and fun to see all the Theatres, it was a lot of people at the theatres. It reminded me of New York City. Exciting!

Just wandering around is enough. It's busy, it's touristy. It's grubby. it's full of restaurants and pubs and theatres and people from all over the world. London Buses and taxis, and bikes and cars and bedlam and it's bloody marvellous.

Had tickets for the circle. Small theatre and seats are really close together, your knees are almost touching the chair in front, but that way, everyone gets a good view. Stomp was brilliant.

If you liked the film you will absolutely love this. The cast are awesome the kids are amazing. Foot tapping, head banging, rocking show. Went with my wife and Son for his 18th birthday treat - we all loved it. Outside of the Jersey Boys the best show I have seen.

London is simply the best place in the world for theatre, no city even comes a close second. plenty of big theatres here as well as smaller fringe such as Jermyn street theatre.

This is probably the best place in London to experience the theater. There are numerous theaters in this district and while the shows vary in style and quality, it's almost impossible to go wrong here, especially with the "big names". Highly recommended.

It's lively, bright, crowded, exciting, brimming with restaurants and bars in between the theatres, and unless you are a monk seeking solitude you couldn't help but have a great time here. It's not cheap, although there are fast food chains where you can dine on a budget, and the scenery is free.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
