You must have been to various places in London, but when you stay longer than a week, I recommend you to stay at Russell Square. This time I stayed eleven days in London, visiting the British Library, taking a tube to the Harrods department store, riding on a coach from Victoria Coach Station to Stratford-upon-Avon. I also visited Oxford by... More

You can bet that when the sun is out, this place will always be buzzing, particularly during the academic year. So, if you don't feel like heading to one of the Royal Parks, head here for a stroll in the gardens.

This review is of Café Russell-- its a nice little café, reasonable prices for the center of London; a bruschetta, giant rice meatball, and simple salad plus a water was only 12.50, hard to find that elsewhere. Food is OK, nothing real fancy, quite passable. The place is overrun with pigeons, but it's nice and quiet and dog/kid friendly area.... More

In contrast to most parks in London, this one is very small with very little going for it, apart from plenty of places to sit, and very friendly birds and squirrels that will get very close if you are eating. There is a statue here, but it faces outwards, so you need to walk around the outside of the park... More

These gardens have a lively, friendly feel. Perhaps it is because of the children playing in the floor level fountain in the middle of the square, or the antics of dogs bemused by squirrels, or the people sitting relaxed on the grass or sitting on the terrace of the lovely cafe. It is a great route to take when heading... More

This is not a huge park but it is a lovely and relaxing one. An oasis of green in the middle of a city. There is also a cafe on site which sells a large selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. Seating inside and out and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A lovely park

One of my favourite spots in London and a great place to sit and have a coffee and pastry while watching the world pass by in this beautiful spot. Not entirely peaceful as the traffic noise is close by but sitting under the trees and enjoying the view makes up for it. Great choice of food and cakes...always received a... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
