Address
Neighborhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
How to get there
  • Green Park • 5 min walk
  • Piccadilly Circus • 8 min walk

I’m a London taxi driver and a guide. I’m so lucky that I get to show people this amazing historical shop that is as much a part of Londons history as the palace that sits next door.
Two great historians in Rebecca and Emma. They show and tell not only the shops history. But also the history of London. They tell some great stories of the origins of sayings that we still use today.
Im fortunate they welcome me in every time and with a smile they always welcome whoever I take it.
The history is amazing. The shop is amazing. The two ladies are amazing.
An essential part of Londons history and future.
The outside of the shop is beautiful and looks like something out of a dickens story. The inside is breath taking and as some displays that will absolutely blow your mind.

Open since 1698, this is the ultimate scotch store - and you can get other liquors, wines, etc. There are dozens of unique whiskeys from everywhere in the world. The only problem is that you cannot buy them all. Request a tasting, and try before you buy.

As a wine lover, Berry Bros is an institution for anyone that loves wine. Negative is more expensive than other wine merchants. Service is amazing and unique. It is a shame that they move to a new shop around the corner, still love the old one.

I purchased wine from their BBX wines, although their site clearly says there are no buyers fees, my ÂŁ220 purchase had a follow up bill of ÂŁ77 for vat and bond fees, then 10 days later another bill of ÂŁ41 for storage. I never used a storage facility.
I will not be using again!

We dined here for the Christmas claret lunch. What a fabulous lunch in a lovely setting. Started with champagne reception with delicious canapés. We then went down to cellars for a delicious 6 course meal with excellent wine pairings. Nick did a great job explaining all about the wines.

Incredible place full of history well worth the stop and the wine.
Ask for the tour it's a must to understand that this is the place where lots of
wine history was made. Extensive selection of spirits especially scotch.

A mesmerising building, steeped in history and charm. We attended a champagne evening, which was extremely informative and fun! Lots of stock in the shop if you fancy treating yourself to a tipple or two! Lovely to be part of such an historic legacy, which is still family owned!

This is probably the best place if you are a whisky lover: awesome selection, plus the in house brand and the possibility to choose. sadly if you are not going to spend a fortune or you are not wearing expensive dresses the staff will do it's best to ignore you or make yourself uncomfortable till you leave. I have been in the store several times, spent 100ÂŁ each time, brought in new customers and I have never received a good treatment. This can be the best place for my expensive taste but the horrible staff ruin the experience.

There don't seem to be any reviews of the wine school on TripAdvisor at the mo, so thought I would quickly add a few thoughts given the prohibitive cost of these classes.
We attended the one day Champagne School recently and every aspect of the day and the care taken by Berry Bros was absolutely brilliant. Everything was expertly planned and there were even staff waiting outside the shop in the rain to direct us to the cellar where the event was taking place. The tasting itself was also organised with mechanical precision, all our places were set out on benches, with the set of glasses, plenty of water and biscuits and material about the event. And there were plenty of friendly staff on hand pouring the champagne (at the last minute so it didn't go flat).
The host, Edwin Dublin, was extremely knowledgable without being a bore, and made it an environment in which participants could contribute as much or as little as they wanted to the discussion. We naively thought we wouldn't waste a drop of wine, but we only managed to drink all of our favourites and also the super expensive Champagnes (not always the same thing!). It was fascinating to be able to taste them in succession, as there is most definitely a world of difference between varieties and it would seem that preference is entirely subjective rather than based on pricetag. After the tasting we moved on to another cellar for lunch, which was surprisingly delicious given that it wasn't the main focus of the event. It was actually far better than our lunch at a posh restaurant (Galvin at Windows) the next day. The menu was the following:
Crab ravioli with seared scallop, shellfish dressing and courgette puree.
Tasting of label anglaise chicken, wild garlic and brioche crust, morels and baby leeks.
Lemon and coconut chiffon with new season raspberries.
Coffee and chocolate

During lunch five more champagnes were served (different to those at the tasting). Again, we couldn't drink them all though we forced down the Bollinger Grande Annee Rose.
Every part of this experience was wonderful and luxurious. We paid about ÂŁ220 each for the day (which was about 11am to 3pm) but even though this was quite costly for us, the value was definitely there, given all the staff around and the plentiful supply of champagne and delicious food. Well worth it and would love to go back. (One tip - beware of which posh shops you visit in the vicinity post tasting - it's hard to tell just how tipsy you are!)

An expensive and much planned dinner after wine tasting went seriously downhill when;
I saw a rat run across the cellar (private dining)
As this was a business dinner I didn’t want to upset all the diners however I pointed it out to to the waitress who said she would tell the manager. Nobody came to speak to me - more than poor !!!!!!

Now that would be bad enough but then I went to the loo and my 3 glasses of untouched wine were lifted in that time ..... and when I returned and mentioned the waitress, she replied they were not serving anymore - fine but you took my untouched wine away. The manager was called, I asked for the wine to be brought back for myself and my colleague and talked about the rat- 20 mins later no wine, no manager and thankfully no RAT!!

Outrageous!!!!! I left with none of my complaints being addressed this made me feel really angry so 20 people with a significant spend and none of this addressed when I left the manager showed his face and accused me of leaving too soon !! Myself and colleague sat for 20mins after 1st speaking to him and he was nowhere to be seen!! This was absolutely deliberate as I had asked for asked for him subsequently and he did not show his face or bring the wine that had been removed !!

So is it old yes, are staff knowledgeable yes, wine was lovely - food ok - too salty especially fish however true mark of any establishment is how you deal with a compliant - when 1st is PESTILENCE and 2nd is being ignored - the answer is not being ignored further!!!
Poor poor poor!
